A Word About Identity Theft

Someone in the comments section of several of my posts has been impersonating me by posting in my name. The fellow also posts under other names, including "Cornell," and his IP address is listed as 207.69.138.6 . This is a Redhat Linux test page for the Apache server, so it appears that whoever the imposter is he has enough savvy to also fake his IP address Here's what Austin Bay said recently about "identity theft," one of the primary reasons he gives for instituting a cumbersome system of comment moderation:

2 Yeah, it does blow and it's happening more and more often. Sometimes you can spot them because what they say is so out of character for the person they're appearing to be. If one doesn't know the person, they come away with the wrong impression. I also hate those who post anonymously using verbal abuse as part of their dissent. They have wiffle balls for cojones.

I'm thinking about something along these lines. 13 The fellow who just posted threatening legal sanctions is probably the imposter. In fact, this person DOES NOT post from more than one location. His URL is in New York City, whereas the real "Oyster" appears to be from some place south of that. I'm now going to delete the fraudulent "Oyster's" posts. I was going to turn off comments and direct people to my blog, but it turns out (ironically) that Typepad doesn't have Typekey implemented so there'd be no advantage in going there, yet. They promise to implement Typekey in the next few weeks, though. Best I can do is delete the imposter. Rusty, if you'd like to ban this guy, his IP is: 70.18.202.29 It's fixed so it's probably a high speed connection. The earlier imposter was using a dialup account, which is a bit more difficult to ban.

14 Okay, this is me, the Oyster from "somewhere south of NY". The one who's been visiting here for almost a couple months. The Oyster just above this comment is a different person. The URL given (mouse over the name) isn't legitimate either. And I know why, because as soon as this mess started I was suddenly unable to post comments because my URL was considered "questionable material" so, of course, the imposter can't use it either and came up with something bogus. I don't know what the purpose of this crap is, but it's pretty childish.

I checked satellite photos down to the street level and it is a college right outside of D.C....I won't post further info though because I don't know who is who. Today, I have become a man! Thanks Glenn. Does this mean I can no longer post over at Itsapundit? Anyway, somehow I feel validated. You know, complete, whole, etc.

6 The thing about Greg that should be understood is that there is nothing unique or special about him to distinguish him from the typical liberal. They are generally certified, foaming-at-the-mouth moonbats, and he is hardly on the fringe. Of course he will go to DU or some other such haven of moonbattery and claim he was banned for dissenting, but liberals are such idiots they don't know dissention from treason.

37 Yes, Ben, you caught me in my haste by my setting the parameters too broadly by saying "nowhere in the Bible"--- but the mistake most non-Christians make is failing to differentiate between the Old Testament laws and convenants (the Hebrew Scriptures) and the New Testament. You are quoting laws which no longer apply because sacrificial/priestly law is no longer needed because of Christ's perfect sacrifice. The Mosaic covenant established the law and the priesthood, however, through Christ's death and resurrection, the New Covenant was established which abolished the need for the priesthood. Therefore, making the Levitical (Mosaic) law (which includes those things you mentioned regarding the holding/owning of slaves, etc.), unnecessary for followers of Christ. Therefore, Christians are not held to the Levitical law, like Muslims are held to the laws of the Koran. The laws and the "extremism" quoted from the Old Testament (the Hebrew Scriptures) are not relevant to today's followers of the Way (Christ Jesus)--subsequently rendering your arguement null and void. In order to efficiently argue "extremism"--quotes about Christian practices/"laws" need to be cited ONLY from the New Testament. To Christians, the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) serve as a historical set of events leading up to the fulfillment of the prophecies which would culminate in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

40 Kyler, I'll further your remark with a comparison of the Bible to the Koran: The only thing that can save Islam at this point is if they, too, come out with a new and revised edition of the Koran like the Christians did with the New Testament. You could have the Old Koran which preaches hell fire and damnation and the New Koran which teaches temperance and tolerance. Of course Mohammed would have to be ressurected and the first time he married a 6 year old he'd go to jail and maybe see that he did his people a real disservice. It's really a shame because since Islam is Christianity's younger sibling, by around 600 or 700 years, and Christianity hasn't killed anyone for "the faith" in almost two hundred years, I figure we have about 400 or 500 years more to wait for their murderous ideals to fade or evolve. The problem with Islam is that it hasn't evolved like Christianity has. Still, even in this modern day, their tenets are designed to keep that from happening; to keep their people in the dark ages and completely refute anything resembling progress and equality even among their own. Why people still insist that this idea be "respected" is beyond me. "Servitude" vs "dhimmitude". "Selling your daughter" vs "killing your daughter". Old Testament vs The Koran. The Koran and Mohammed were nothing more than an attempt to restore things the way they were before Christ. They desperately need a new prophet to set things straight. I don't subscribe to either religion, but I sure can see the difference and if I had to choose, guess which one I'd go for? Muslims don't have that choice for fear of death.

However, it is nice to think that those of us who consider ourselves to be cultured and somewhat mature - hahaha - would consider these images at the very least the kind of thing that our mothers taught us in 1st grade were juvenile and potty humor. That's the best take on this baloney. The worst take is that they make it onto a jihadi website to be used (however fakey they are) as a recruitment tool. Meantime, if you want a good laugh at someone else's expense why don't you stick it in the eye of people that can "take it" - like Donald Trump, Bill Clinton or President Bush (whatever is your fancy for humor or caricature - Dana Carvey and Will Farrel come to mind). The radical Muslims, however, have proven to have very little in way of a sense of humor. That is something we just need to accept, imho, and not provoke this rather juvenile mindset. If Islam ever grows up and decides to be a fully functioning religion like all the other great religions then they will open themselves up to public scrutiny and indeed to humor, critique and occasional derision. The question is how we can prevail when we are not even fighting against the enemy? There is only one way to fight Islamic terrorism and that is to fight Islam itself. Islam IS terrorism. In the Quran, the incitement to kill and to instill terror is spelled out in clear language in hundreds of verses. The first step that we have to take is to identify the supporters of Islamic terrorism, those who hate the West and kick them out. It is not difficult to identify these goons. They are very vocal on the Internet spewing their venom against the West. They can be easily identified and thrown out. Mosques must be shut down and mosque goers should also be kicked out. Amazingly the Italian Judge, Armando Grasso, of the city of Bergamo, instead of throwing out the suit has ordered Fallaci to stand trial. Islam must not be protected by passing laws making illegal its criticism. On the contrary, Muslims must be forced to justify their terrorist faith and prove that it merits the status of religion. Do we give the hate spewing Creativity Movement the status of religion just because its followers claim it is? Would anyone in his right mind ban the criticism of cults such as the Satanism, Branch Davidian or the Solar temple or even the cult of Charles Manson? Why in a country that even the criticism of Christianity is not banned, the criticism of a dangerous cult such as Islam must be outlawed? More lives have been lost today and more will be lost in future but those who want to remain politically correct and the appeasers are not going to wake up. They will continue defending Islam, the very doctrine that calls for their heads. They will continue fighting for the right of Muslims to believe and promote their ideology of hate. It seems the non-Muslims are on a suicidal course. One day, when they have had enough of it, perhaps after hundreds of terrorist attacks have left virtually everyone mourning for the loss of a loved one, or perhaps when a few atomic bombs have been blasted in their countries and a few million of them are incinerated; when their economies are totally destroyed and their cities have become wastelands, the Westerners will rise and slaughter their Muslim neighbors. Public debates must take place between the proponents and the opponents of Islam so the hidden facts about Islam come to surface. Muslims living among us must be brought to accountability. They must either leave Islam or forced to leave non-Muslim countries. Islam is terrorism. It must be banned. We are not talking about religious persecution. Islam is not a personal religion. It is a fascistic anti human ideology with a very temporal goal in the guise of religion and promises of afterlife. It is an ideology that wants to instill terror, to destroy democracies, take away our freedoms and dominate the world. Louisiana Church Sex Cult Arrests

(Ponchatoula, Louisiana) The FBI, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, and the Ponchatoula Police Department are investigating allegations of cult-like deviant practices, including sex with children and animals, by members of the Hosanna Church in Ponchatoula. Thus far, the following eight people have been arrested and charged.

Austin Bernard III, 36, was charged with allegedly forcing a girl under the age of 13 to perform a sex act and admitted to knowing about alleged sexual acts involving children, dogs and cats that occurred at Hosanna Church.
Nicole Bernard, 36, was charged with aggravated rape of a juvenile under the age of 13
Paul Fontenot, 21, was charged with aggravated rape of a juvenile under the age of 13.
Deputy Christopher Labat, 24, was charged on one count of aggravated rape, one count of crime against nature, and one count of malfeasance in office. Being a law officer, Labat was not put with the general prisoner population. He is, however, on suicide watch.
Louis Lamonica, 45, was charged with two counts of aggravated rape and one count of crime against nature after he confessed that he had sex with children and animals. The entire sex cult case broke wide open when Lamonica walked into the Sheriff's office and confessed. He is the former pastor of the Hosanna Church.
Robbin D. Lamonica, 45, was charged with one count of aggravated rape after a male victim told deputies that he had been having sex with Robbin Lamonica from the time he was 4 years of age until he was 13.
Lois Ann Mowbray, 54, was charged with obstruction of justice, failure to report a felony, and accessory after the fact to aggravated rape.
Allen R. Pierson, 46, was charged with one count of aggravated rape for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a girl who was 9 or 10-years-old at the time. The victim is now 13.

The investigation continues and authorities believe there may be dozens of victims ranging in age from infancy to adolescence. Computers were seized and the crime lab expects to find pictures of sex acts involving children and animals.

Notably, the laws of Louisiana consider sex with young children a capital crime punishable by death. If the evidence is sufficient, Scott Perrilloux, the 21st Judicial District Attorney, may seek the death penalty. Execution shouldn't be inconceivable. The enormity of the alleged crimes is bewildering.

11 It is definitely sad to see things like this happen, but it is definitely a sign that Jesus is coming back soon. I drove by the church last night for the first time. It looked like a regular church, except it had a Parish Homeland Security van & 3 police cars outside with caution tape all around. It was really sad to hear about a place that people go to for security & comfort doing these GOD AWEFUL things to children & animals. This week I:

Atended a speech delivered by the President. Very cool since I had no idea he was going to be the key note speaker.

Met two U.S. Senators, including John McCain. The other Senator was decent enough to chat with my students for awhile.

Hung out with my Congressman for about 30 minutes too long while he blathered on and on with every liberal DNC talking point while claiming to be a 'conservative' Democrat.

Sat in on a Senate committee meeting in which Trent Lott looked incredibly bored.

Watched as John Lewis reminded a group of high school students that he was with Dr. King at the March on Washington for the bajillionth time in his life.

Was in the room as Justice Kennedy read the decision from the bench that states could not ban the import of wine---Thomas and Breyer passed notes the whole time.

Had to sit through the Junior Senator from California blathering on and on about 'extremist Republican judges' from the gallery.

Was overheard on the Hill commenting, upon passing Norm Coleman in the halls, that his wife was hot.

Had two half-smokes, three all beef kosher hot dogs, and four Mt. Dews off street carts.

Told a lobbyist representing the rent-to-own furnishings industry that his business was immoral and predatory. I take it Congressional aids aren't so forward as he stormed off in a huff.

Saw the Nationals beat the Brewers. Several yuppified liberals moved because we were beeing a tad bit too obnoxious. Don't you just love liberals-- always fighting for the 'common man' but can't stand to be near any of them.

Witnessed the head of the Israeli Air Force lay a wreathe at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Cried as I found my grandfather's name at the new WWII memorial.

Cried again at the Holocaust Museum.

And again reading the Second Innaguaral enshrined on the walls of the Lincoln memorial.

Noticed that the Human Rights Campaign building is right across the street from the YMCA. How prosaic.

Missed my family desperately.

This town is so shallow. This town is so deep. The history I love, the politics and the people I hate.
