1 This thing isn’t much of any use. although, it is capable of destroying explosives /munition lying about but it can’t destroy buried explosives /munition. I would rather see some really good IED detection devices or any kind of device that can “smell” nearby explosives.

7 Dan: There already is technology deployed in order to counter IED's, the problem of course -- just like any detector / scanner is that it is tailored around known parameters. The builders keep changing their trigger mechanisms. Imagine how vast the amount of signal types they could use is! Radio control and proximity triggers are old news, for most jihadi's.

10 The original purpose of Zeus was to remove unexploded ordanace from things like clusterbombs that would be laying out in the open. Using a laser you get a much smaller detonation than if you exploded the ordance in the normal way with a shock.
