Washinton Post : Rep. William J. Jefferson (D-La.), the target of a 14-month public corruption probe, was videotaped accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from a Northern Virginia investor who was wearing an FBI wire, according to a search warrant affidavit released yesterday.Line him up with the rest of the crooks. Like I said before, Politician often equals crook.A few days later, on Aug. 3, 2005, FBI agents raided Jefferson's home in Northeast Washington and found $90,000 of the cash in the freezer, in $10,000 increments wrapped in aluminum foil and stuffed inside frozen-food containers, the document said.

Rep. John Murtha, an influential Pennsylvania lawmaker and outspoken critic of the war in Iraq, said today Marines had “killed innocent civilians in cold blood” after allegedly responding to a roadside bomb ambush that killed a Marine during a patrol in Haditha, Iraq, Nov. 19.Ignoring centuries of American jurisprudence, Murtha has hopelessly prejudiced this case with his presumption of guilt. And Murtha has done this for one reason only, political gain. Murtha's reason for prejudging this case is his claim that the alleged crime was committed due to over-extension of the military.“It’s much worse than was reported in Time magazine,” Murtha, a Democrat, former Marine colonel and Vietnam war veteran, told reporters on Capitol Hill.
“There was no firefight. There was no [bomb] that killed those innocent people,” Murtha explained, adding there were “about twice as many” Iraqis killed than Time had reported.
Regardless of the outcome of Courts Martial investigating these Marines, Jack Murtha has exposed himself as a festering puswart on the buttocks of the House of Representatives.
Jack Murtha has abused his position as a US Representative and deserves censure by the House, at the very least. Murtha's past military service does not in any way excuse this gross misconduct.

CNN : Moussaoui was removed from the Alexandria, Virginia, detention center on Friday night and flown to Colorado on a service nicknamed "Con Air."A team of deputy U.S. marshals delivered him early Saturday to the federal Supermax prison in Florence, Colorado. The prison is sometimes called the "Alcatraz in the Rockies."
"It is a place of extraordinary security, 23 hours a day in cells, one hour of recreation," CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said at the time of Moussaoui's sentencing earlier this month in U.S. District Court in Alexandria.
"It is as close to permanent solitary confinement as exists in our prison system," Toobin said.
So the rotting has begun. LetÂ’s all send him a note so he really has to dig to find that letter from mommy. Remember be civil (no threats of any kind) and tell him how glad you are that he will never see the light of day. I got his new address here at the FBOP

WAPO : Only one juror stood between the death penalty and Zacarias Moussaoui and that juror frustrated his colleagues because he never explained his vote, according to the foreman of the jury that sentenced the al-Qaeda operative to life in prison last week. Also see Allahpundit at Hot Air.The foreman, a Northern Virginia math teacher, said in an interview that the panel voted 11 to 1, 10 to 2 and 10 to 2 in favor of the death penalty on three terrorism charges for which Moussaoui was eligible for execution. A unanimous vote on any one of them would have resulted in a death sentence.

Reuters : SYDNEY (Reuters) - Nine Muslim men arrested in Australia's biggest security swoop, and charged with planning a terrorist act, pretended to be women texting girlfriends to secretly communicate, a prosecutor told a court on Friday. So "Sue" I hope this experience helps you out when you get locked up with all those sweaty men and you have to play bitch to some big Aussie lifer. But look on the bright side, you already have your new names picked out."Hi babes, I'm missing you," one message read, while another said: "How you going love, did Sue want to meet me."
During a bail application for one of the men, Khaled Cheikho, 32, in the New South Wales Supreme Court, a prosecutor said the men used "covert phones" under false names and code to communicate, Australian Associated Press reported from the court.
One message between Cheikho and co-accused Mohammed Elomar referred to the purchase of some insulation tape allegedly used to make explosives, said prosecutor Wendy Abraham.
"Hello darling, could you let me know if you still have rolls of the silver tape," a message from Cheikho read.

Jeffs is wanted for allegedly arranging marriages between underage girls and adult men, for criminal charges of sexual conduct with a minor, and for being an accomplice to rape. Convictions of the charges may put Jeffs in prison for life.
Inclusion on the FBI's list, which is disseminated world wide, increases to $100,000 the reward for information leading to Jeffs' arrest.
Jeffs is considered a prophet by about followers in Utah, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, South Dakota, British Columbia, and Quintana Roo (on the Yucatan Peninsula), Mexico. Likely protected by armed bodyguards, Jeffs is considered armed and dangerous.
There is reason to believe that Jeffs may be holed up in a FLDS church compound in Eldorado, Texas. Authorities, however, haven't acquired probable cause to enter and search. Maybe the bumped up reward will loosen a tongue.
Jeffs was profiled on last night's America's Most Wanted television program and, by all indications, is a demented, authoritarian pervert. In my opinion, Jeffs is scum. Many lives have been forever altered by his actions. He needs to be found and apprehended.
Pass the word. Call the FBI if you have information. Collect $100,000.

Yahoo News :WASHINGTON - Rep. Patrick Kennedy said Friday he was entering treatment for addiction to prescription pain drugs after a middle-of-the-night car crash near the Capitol that he said he had no memory of. "That's not how I want to live my life," he declared.Unfair you say? Seems pretty dog gone fair after the leftÂ’s feeding frenzy against Rush last week. Ha! Shoe now on the other foot! IÂ’m sure that somehow a Democrat on pain medication is just not the same though and we should have sympathy for Mr. Kennedy. In fact, Rush is standing up for Kennedy.
Caller To Rush Via Rush: Now, what you just mentioned about Patrick Kennedy, even though he's a Kennedy, and even though, you know, we all know about his family, and you're at odds with the Democrats, you're showing true compassion for the man's well-being, and you shouldn't be admonished for it. You should be commended for it.Now arenÂ’t you all ashamed of yourselves? more...

At least one Duke University lacrosse player has indicated an interest in transferring from the troubled program. But Syracuse University athletic director Daryl Gross said Tuesday he will not sanction the transfer of any former Blue Devil to Syracuse.more..."I think it would be inappropriate," Gross said.
SU coach John Desko said he's received written notification from Duke that sophomore attackman Zack Greer is seeking his release from the school. Athletes intent upon transferring from one program to another ask their athletic departments to issue releases to schools the athlete is interested in attending.

Mr. Lichtenstein fell on hard luck after loosing his second technology job. First he was fired from an Atlanta based DP firm. He is also a strict vegan and bicyclist when heÂ’s not scamming. He says he was once so heavy he could not walk and was in constant pain. He claims becoming vegan cured him. His father migrated to Costa Rica after WWII and he came to the US seeking his fortune.
I expect he will be deported upon conviction as he is not a citizen. Locals also reported that Mr. Lichtenstein is also a bigamist having more than one wife. He never bothered to divorce his wife in Costa Rica before marrying again in Florida. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and French. I wonder if he is who he claims to be. If you recognize him as someone else please email me.

AP Via Yahoo : He said the image of two people jumping together, appearing to hold hands, sticks with him every day. Moussaoui affected a look of boredom when the prosecution played video of victims falling to their deaths.Terrorist bastard smiles at the plight of WTC victims.
Giuliani took the stand after prosecutor Rob Spencer braced jurors for the painful testimony they were going to hear over the next few weeks. His presentation opened the final phase of the drawn-out trial that will determine whether Moussaoui is executed or sent to prison for life.
Giuliani said that when he arrived at the scene, his deputy told him how bad the situation was and people were jumping from the high floors of the towers. "I concluded or hoped he was wrong," he said.
But then he saw people falling and "I froze. I realized in that couple of seconds, it switched my thinking and emotions. I said, 'We're in uncharted territory.'"
Spencer argued that the voices of the victims of the attacks and their anguished families should be all the jury needs to hear to decide whether Moussaoui, an acknowledged al-Qaida terrorist, should die for his crimes. My preferred death sentence would be for this fool to be sent to the Jolly Red Pig and force fed Barbecue until his arteries clogged. Sounds yummy to me! The last thing we need is for this man to become a martyr, no matter how much he deserves death, it's his wish. Give him the opposite. How about an all expense paid eternal trip to Gitmo? I'm open to suggestions anyone?
Spencer described one call from a woman on the 83rd floor of the second tower to fall. "The floor is completely engulfed," she said. "We're on the floor and we can't breathe.... I don't see any more air...I'm going to die, aren't I?"
"You cannot understand the magnitude of that day unless you hear it from the victims themselves," Spencer said. Moussaoui smiled several times when the prosecution mentioned his enthusiasm for the attacks.
Related more remains found near WTC.

From Miami.com:
A circuit judge accepted 21-year-old Daniel Rodriguez Mendoza's plea deal Monday morning against the wishes of the dead woman's family, who wanted him to serve as much as life in prison. On four previous occasions, international trespasser Mendoza was cited for driving without a license. This time, someone died. As a result, he gets six months and deportation. The jail term is a gift and the deportation is a nothing. Even at his young age, Mendoza probably has more visits to the border than your typical Taco Bell customer.Mendoza, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, pleaded guilty to two felonies -- driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death -- and will essentially end his six-month stint at the Palm Beach County jail and stockade for the Sept. 25 accident that killed Kimberly Jo Dahmer, 42.
I see it happening more and more often. Illegal aliens are either not prosecuted for crimes or they are treated leniently. Maybe it's because the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. just grows and grows. Nonetheless, it makes no sense for the justice system to view illegals differently from actual American citizens. Pretty soon, actual Americans would be well advised to just say "No speakie English" on all traffic stops. It's a free pass.

Then I read this at Misha's:
WAYNESBURG - A Canton man has been charged with the rape and murder of a 7-month-old infant he was baby-sitting.Police said Henry A. Sunderman, 32, of 3117 Tuscarawas St. W, Apt. A-3, in Canton, raped and killed his niece, Zoey Sunderman, on Friday. Sunderman was baby-sitting the girl, her two sisters and a brother.
Zoey was the youngest.
She was pronounced dead at Akron Children’s Hospital at 2:02 p.m. Friday. The Summit County medical examiner was doing an autopsy Saturday; it said the case was under investigation and did not release a cause of death. But Stark County Jail records said Sunderman admitted he had penetrated the baby’s anus with his finger, “causing severe tearing and trauma, resulting in the death of the victim.”
I will never, ever renounce my support for the death penalty.
I watched an MSNBC Investigates show tonight on the Wabash, IL level 4 prison. The place had more amenities than the nursing home my mother is in.
F**k life in prison without parole for animals like this.

From Reuters.com:
Sirhan, who turns 62 on Sunday, has been seeking to win his freedom since 1972.So, Sirhan will continue to enjoy cellblock life alongside Charles Manson at Corcoran State Prison. Maybe the two are really, really close, if you catch my drift. Nevertheless, it would have been a waste of effort to send Sirhan's papers to Schwarzenegger.Had the Board of Parole recommended parole, the matter would have gone to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for final review. Kennedy was the uncle of Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver.
"The panel found that he continues to pose an unacceptable risk to public safety and felt that he was not suitable for parole," Tip Kindel, a spokesman for the Board of Prison Terms, said of Sirhan.

I mean, if they really were out to just recognize good driving habits, why not get the info from the license plate and mail the prize to them?
I'm a pro-law enforcement guy, but pulling over law abiding citizens obeying the rules is 90 different types of wrong.
What's next, giving you concert tickets after they search your house and make sure your guns are properly unloaded and locked up, or a trip to Orlando because they didn't find a meth lab? A case of condoms when they don't find any evidence you're running a whorehouse?
Sorry, this is more a fishing expedition than a reward-the-citizens type of deal. I'm sure a great deal of us have been pulled over at one time or another. It's not a happy occasion, even for something as minor as a burnt out headlight.
Meanwhile, as the police are patting you on the back, assuming you're not slumped over the wheel with a heart attack, Abdul goes cruising by in an eighteen wheeler packed with the wrath of Allah.

From Aljazeera.net:
Mounir el Motassadeq was sentenced to seven years in prison last August by a court in Hamburg. No reason was given for the court's decision to apparently not consider him a flight risk. I'm astonished! If ever there was a candidate for being a flight risk, it seems a convicted terrorist should qualify. The German court obviously disagreed.City judicial spokesman Carsten Grote on Tuesday said Germany's Federal Constitutional Court has now ordered him released. Grote did not give a reason for the higher court's decision.
It was not clear when el Motassadeq, 31, would be released.
In 2003, the Moroccan became the first person anywhere to be convicted with the 9/11 hijackings when he was found guilty of membership of a terrorist organisation.

From the AP:
Iyman Faris' challenge is among the first to seek evidence of warrantless electronic eavesdropping by the National Security Agency, a practice that began after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Government officials have reportedly credited the practice with uncovering Faris' terrorist plot and several others.Interestingly, Faris, 36, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and aiding and abetting terrorism. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Subsequently, he tried to take back his guilty plea, saying everything is his agreement was false.A motion filed by Faris' attorney David Smith in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Va., argues that investigators improperly obtained evidence against Faris and that his trial lawyer was ineffective.
Given the likelihood that Faris' phone conversations or e-mails had been electronically monitored, Faris' trial lawyer, Frederick Sinclair, should have asked for evidence of such surveillance, Smith said in the motion.
And, there are others looking to get their terror-related convictions overturned.
A lawyer for Ali al-Timimi, an Islamic scholar in northern Virginia serving a life sentence for exhorting followers to fight U.S. troops, has said he plans to challenge his case based on NSA involvement. So has an attorney for Adham Amin Hassoun, a Lebanese-born Palestinian living in Florida who is charged with being part of a cell dedicated to supporting violent Muslim extremists.Obviously, the issue of the NSA eavesdropping will have to be decided in the courts. I hope that the judges ruling on the issue keep in mind that it involves protecting the United States from foreign attack. It would be imprudent to allow Faris and his terrorist buddies to get off.

From the Guardian:
Detectives have investigated a plot to kidnap Tony Blair's son, Leo, after it emerged that extremists linked to the fathers' rights group Fathers4Justice were allegedly intending to snatch the Blairs' youngest child as a form of direct action.Authorities believe the plot was to hold the boy only for a short period of time and then let him go unharmed. Anti-terrorist police took immediate action to investigate rumors of the plot, visiting members of Fathers4Justice and warning them that someone would likely be shot on sight if the plan was acted on.Downing Street last night refused to comment on a report in the Sun newspaper that the police had foiled the attempt in which Leo would have been held hostage to highlight the plight of fathers denied access to their children.
Matt O'Conner, founder of Fathers4Justice, condemned the plot unreservedly, stating, "We're in the business of uniting dads with their kids not separating them." Even so, some extreme members or former members have been implicated in the kidnap plot prompting O'Conner to shut down Fathers4Jusctice.
From Fathers4Justice Official Website:
F4J leader Matt O'Connor announced last night that he was suspending the operations of the group pending enquiries into allegations contained on the cover of this mornings Sun Newspaper that 'extremist sympathisers' associated with the group had planned to kidnap the Prime Minister's Son, Leo Blair.O'Conner also called for the police to immediately release the names of the likely suspects and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. I give O'Conner credit for taking immediate action to condemn the plot and to distance himself from the perpetrators. However, criminal plots don't materialize from thin air in activist organizations without word getting around, so one has to wonder just how extreme the Fathers4Justice membership is at its core.F4J say they condemn any such action unreservedly and that the group is increasingly having it's name 'hijacked' by a growing number of militant extremists and that it would seriously consider the long term viability of the campaign.

A 30-year-old sixth-grade English teacher at Stony Brook Middle School, Jessica Palkes (pic), was arrested last Friday and charged with possession of heroin and hypodermic needles after a traffic stop. According to Westford Police Lt. Victor Neal, Palkes admitted that she was a heroin user. Her arraignment was Tuesday in Ayer District Court. Palkes pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The Superintendent of Schools, Stephen Foster, has notified the parents of current and former Stony Brook students of Palkes' arrest. It's notable that in 2004, Westford Academy teacher Rosemarie Pumo was convicted of distributing heroin to students and sentenced to prison.
Two teachers from different schools in the same small town being involved with heroin would appear to indicate a generic drug problem far removed from the crime-ridden center of the big city. An inquiring mind would have to wonder just how extensive the rural Massachusetts drug problem is.
