WTW Hilton Screws Over 100 Vets

No, not Paris screws over 100 vets you dirty, dirty boys, Hilton Hotels “screws over” 100 vets. There hope I made that clear. Paris does seem to have a heart and as we all know rich hotties like Paris pretty much get their way. So Paris, have a heart , raise some hell and get some arrangements made for this group. I’ll even put up a bottle of Howie’s wine for you. You can’t buy it with money honey! Only by helping these guys out.

Lisa Hoffman Via Capital Hill Blue :At Fran O'Brien's Stadium Steak House, hundreds of
soldiers and Marines maimed in the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan have dined gratis on thick steaks, tossed
back a few cold ones and basked in the normalcy and
comradeship offered there.

But come May 1, those much-anticipated outings from
local military hospital wards will cease. Hilton Hotel
Corp., landlord of the restaurant, is evicting Fran's
from its decade-long location in the basement of the
Capital Hilton in downtown D.C.

"For strictly business reasons related solely to the
inability to reach a new lease arrangement, the
Capital Hilton has elected to terminate the lease,"
hotel general manager Brian Kelleher said in an
e-mailed statement.

Help these vets Paris. You are their only hope!

3 Man searching for that pic was tough. Way to many bad photos of here out there and why are they the most popular?

Posted by: Howie at April 19, 2006 12:55 PM (D3+20)

4 Do you really think anyone in their right mind would let Paris have ANY say whatsoever in how the Hilton Corp. is run?

Posted by: mojo at April 19, 2006 01:56 PM (C1sRI)

5 I dunno maybe. Actually Paris is pretty sharp. Wild but not a stupid person. Remember her last name is Hilton. I don't care how they work it out as long as it is. If she did she could generate some good publicity. It's doubtfull but worth a shot.

6 Boycott the HILTON and watch them loose buinsess just look what happened to K-MART a few years ago when the let ROSIE O,DONNELL talk them into stop selling guns in their stores

7 I'm with MOJO, they don't consult Paris Hilton when making any decisions concerning the business. She just primps and dresses and smiles for the camera. She has 'people' who think for her. That is one of the better pictures I have seen of her. Usually she looks like a stick! ha (Yes, I'm a female, so I'm too critical of her I guess)

8 Yeah but this is background noises crusade this week. Ive been lucky enough to go with grandpa to some reunions with his buddies and It's pretty amazing the relationsships vets have. Now of course background and I are opposites as far as politics. But....If you are left and against the war it's unfair to saddle the soldier with the politics fo the war. They serve. If Hilton Hotels is just being cheap an inconsiderate that's not very good business. There is a lot of politics in business. So you pretty much hve to include Paris and her sister cause well you now. The general aim I have is to just bring a bit of attention in hopes that they will make some kind of arrangement to help these guys out. I don't really care what just do something nice. I's sure Hilton if they wanted to could help make plans for so these guys an continue to meet somewhere. From my experience it means a lot to vets to get together. All I ask. Background is still all wound up on this one so I will update tomorrow with newinfo he sent. See how this works. Background has an issue I can kind of see the point of. He sends me stuff and we tried to work out what we agree on and go from there. To me that's what blogs are for. Probably we won't have any luck as by now it's obvious Paris (or Hilton Hotels) does not read The Jawa Report. Making money is all good but you also need to have good will toward your business. Some times you have to invest a bit in that too. Note this is an issue a reader brought to us. I encourge similar participation from our regulars and readers left and right. This blog leans right but so what. Be American first. I like for our men and women who have given so much to be treated well.

9 I really want to thank Howie for the support here. This is not a matter of Right v. Left, it is Right v. Wrong. Time to put "Operation Perish Hilton" into high gear....

Posted by: 8ackgr0und N015e at April 22, 2006 01:19 PM (t4Rmq)

10 I really appreciate Howie's help on this. Anyone who takes a moment to think about this realizes it is not an issue of Right vs. Left. It is about Right vs. Wrong. Now is the time for anyone interested in supporting the troops who really need it most, to join up for Operation Perish Hilton (tip of the hat to Chris Dickson for the name....brilliant) Here are just some of the things we can do. It is time to boycott the following hotel chains: Conrad Hotels Doubletree Embassy Suites Hampton Inn Hampton Inn & Suites Hilton Garden Inn Homewood Suites Scandic Another way to show support is for people who do travel to pick up the stationary from their hotel room and write a letter to Hilton corporate headquarters, the local newspapers, TV and radio stations saying: "I'm sending you this note from [non Hilton property] to let you know I think the way Hilton Hotel Corp. is treating the people and patrons at Fran O'Brien's Steak House in Washington DC is wrong. I chose to stay at [non Hilton property] because I support our troops. I simply can't get a good night's sleep at a Hilton property as long as they turn their back on severely wounded soldiers."

11 I got a copy of her video, I could make VCDs out of it.

12 Thanks for talking up this issue. We all need to support out wounded soldiers, who bear so much pain for bush/cheneyÂ’s flawed war policies.

Posted by: Kitten at April 22, 2006 04:22 PM (I7wUH)

13 Kitten: Now there you go again. You are so blinded by your anti bush thinking. Now I don't always agree with him either. I called him china's beotch Friday. Why because well some times he seems politically silly. Walking right into some. So the same qualities that make him stubborn and determined hurt us politicallcy. Now I work for a realy conervative company. The did an employeee survey a while back. Now you can just imagine some of the responseses. So at the meeting (these things always result in a meeting don't they) of course the companie stood fast and seems immoveable. But if you discard what they said and watch their actions obver time you see they do do things to make it better they just never admit to it. I dunno why fear that if they appear soft they will have to do way more. But their interet is keeping the best and they have to work on it. Several high level engineers who taught this associates degree their engineering skills have left. We workk your ass off and we have to but we also need to be responsive enoug to keep those we with to keep. It's a deliate balance. so conservatives often come off harsher than they really are. Now for the Democrats what bothers me and I'm a swing voter is the fact thay have become the party of inti this anti that. Progressive they call it. Ok to me the Democratic party is supposed to be about fighting for freedonm for all. In fact that's also a Republican value. So let's call it an American value. If you realy really think Bush is just fighting for greed then go meet up with abu muscab al zaqueery and talk him into peace. It's not going to work. The democratic leaders have pulled the leftish away from the roots of thier party. The Rerpubicans have sold it's small government lank of the platform out. Libertarian party just doent'have the pull. So i propose a new party the "I'm A Real American Dammit Party." The baisic idea is that there is a sliver of way too nutty conservatives who want to tell everyone what right is. There is the nutty moonbat wing of the Democratic prty who sells out America and freedom just to attack Bush becuase well he gets to fight for freedom and we cant' stand it. There are a hell of a lot more of the rest of us. You know normal people. My Parents are conservative union democrats. My stepays will be the first to say the main problem with his union is a lot of worthless bastards use the benefits and protections they worked so hard for to fuck off all day. I'm all for the right to bargain as a group but politics gets into the leadership and to increase their take they will sell out the memebership a short term raise for long term "damn I need a job". I'm a libertarian leaning Reagan Republican who thinks if you are depending on the government to solve problems other than roads and defense well your are an idiot. We have former Democrats on this site who have become so disgusted with the left they call "liberalism a mental disorder" Well it was't at one time. And that's a shame. Since background is so would up I saw that cartoon with the Taxi and damn strait. The mainstream Democrats need to put the hard left in their place. Also the mainstream right needs to box stand up to the far right of our party. I see a possible enlightenment since the Jill Carroll release. Terrorist hate liberals terorist hate Bush because he stands in their way. I like bush but I admit some days his political nose it clogged and he hands the democats and issue just like Hilton through is stubborness is getting a block eye. Now Hiton I'm sure can't afford to cave on every issue. But our men are fighting for us. There are Democrat voulenteers who serve. There are Republican voulenteers who serve. There are a lot of good Americans and the sooner we get ont eh same page and get bck to American ideal the better. The enemy is counting on us to not be able to come together as one. They depend on us to hate each other more than we hate them. It is their only hope of victory and it's not unreasonable to assume we will. War is not perfect it's a pain a struggle but it's ght right one. We can help what we can. We here piss off a lot of Muslims as well trying to fight the ones who have taken Islam which means peace and took the will of Allah as I understand it and twisted into a murderous bloody excuse for war at the pleaseure of Lucifer. I beg those true muslims to take up the fight aginst those who destroy Islam from within. We all need to fight for the right ideas. I'm not against core democratic prncipals one but I just don't see much of that anymore. I also don't see much core smal government out of out side. But right now I feel we have a chance to change that. The terrorist offensive this year seems pretty bad so for. Seemed powerful but we are still standing and so is Iraq. The kurds especially. Afghanistan is doing well too. Thay all have a long way to go adn we can;t hand em a pass. we have to push and help and assist. Fighting the terroists is required. But liberal charity and humanitarian help is just a required. Go back to your true values. Fight for freedom in a manner you feel confortable with. American needs true democratic values. America needs true conservative values. Muslims need out help to fight and regain respect for their faith. So be a True American Democrat or Republican. Fight for libery and freedom. Be an american dammit. If you are a Muslim fight the doctrine of evil. Or go to the mall and but an "I hate Bush sticker" if you are a damn fool. Be a real American Dammit. I'm disgusted with politics and it's about damn time we start using our heads and stop alowing politics in Washington to make enemies of our own countrymen. We can destroy our ourselves for politcal gain in the next election or we can all go back to being Americans first and Democrats or Republicans second. Be a Real American dammit. If you hate war I think you need to turn your attention to the actual enemy beause your fellow American bothers ain't it. We can'g fight it perfectly and it sure as hell is a lot harder when our own countrymen are not helping. I don't go to Kos much but what bothered me yesterday is the misguided hate of Bush and the Right. Out of the commnts I read very many were good. And then there were those that were just silly. Be a real American dammit.

14 So if 8ackground and I can get along even thouhg he trolls the piss out of me what does that say for the rest of you.

15 Just to show you how much I appreciate this... ...even though Howie's rant had a completelackofparagraphbreaksandthatmakesmyeyesbleedwhichisreallyadrag... I did it any way

Posted by: 8ackgr0und N015e at April 23, 2006 10:03 AM (t4Rmq)

16 Where Howie and I find common ground: "Be a real American." Where the debate comes in is what is "real" and what is "really best FOR America".... I got no problem with that.

Posted by: 8ackgr0und N015e at April 23, 2006 10:15 AM (t4Rmq)

17 Thank you for all of your support for Fran O'Brien's (Operation Perish Hilton!) Let's keep that pressure up...we only have four more days left for Hilton to change their minds. DE OPPRESSO LIBER !!!
