As the regular readers and commenters know, there has been quite a big controversy over my decision to ban Collin Baber. The above poll clearly shows that a majority of Jawa Report readers want him to go.
Collin is back in. Won't he just piss people off? Yes. That's the point. I like getting people pissed off. People like Collin have a useful purpose. They force us out of complacency and let us see another world view. A distorted worldview that blames America first and foremost for all the problems in the world, but a common one nonetheless. It is the predominant worldview amongst the European elite and all too common in our universities.
Let us rise to the challenge of defending America against her enemies, foreign and domestic.
A word of caution to Collin, Greg, Actus, Bob, etc (our regular leftist commenters) don't piss ME off.
Also, to every one else: be civil. No, I don't mean you need to hold your punches, but please no hitting below the belt. Ok, maybe civil is not the word I'm looking for. Politics is just war by other means. But lately there has been too much back and forth about so-and-so liking to suck so-and-so's something-or-other. If this keeps up we're going to start resorting to yo-momma insults.
Parenthetically, yo momma so stupid it took her 2 hours to watch 60 minutes.

Bravo!
Banning Collin would have been a chickenshit thing to do.
Now I can hear those sweat words over and over again,"Bushian War Cult, Bushian War Cult".

I'm with Cindy on this one. Utterly stupid to first ban Colon, then cave in to some commenters and subject us to a stupid poll wherein you supposedly will let your readers make the call, then back out when the poll says ban the jerk. Hope you don't treat your students that way.....tell them something won't be on the test, then put it on the test. Now Collin, Steven (Collin's supposed brother), and Greg can make the comments forum their own and use the same old tired quotes and dubious sources to stroke each other. Like I said before, I have stopped coming here every day because it is just too painful to wade through their crap. If I wanted to subject myself to this, I would go to Kos. Sorry, Rus, I will stop by now and again to check out the headlines, but I'm not venturing into the comments section anymore. It's your barbeque.....just doesn't taste as good anymore.

Rusty,
pay no attention to Dan. If he wants an echo chamber he should look elsewhere. Part of the fun is watching the Leftists make fools of themselves.

I respect Dan's feelings. It's the reason why Kos bans just about everyone. People don't like to be challenged. Kos calls it 'community building'. I have banned plenty of people in the past, but mostly for childish stuff. We'll see how this works out.

It's your blog. I will respect your decision. AS DUMB AS IT IS.
I thought prehaps we could get a break and see if something constructive would pop up.
Would you consider banning the group you mentioned above for a week for a trial run. Just wondering how your blog would be without the crazy America haters?

I voted "no" about ten times, which is not much considering how many times my oversecretive firewall wouldve allowed me to vote...
Well anyways, just here to say that I finally noticed how much my comments have hurt some of your countrys screenfucking virusamateur lowlives yesterday, when after about a week of singular attacks which had no effect, there was a 6 PC joint operation, all located in US (got names, IP:s and addresses from the police after they checked connections to my ADSL that day), to apparently push through viruses to my computer, since the bastards could not do it alone.
The PC was formatted and the stuff reinstalled, and since there was nothing legal lost, they just gave me the info and told me to take care of the situation myself. So those responsible may want to upgrade their protection software, or not, I could just give their personal info to your police forces to get some sort of revenge.
So I wont be writing stuff here from my PC, since public computers have the advantage of beingif property of the government, therefore they get messed up it will automatically mean jail time in a Finnish prison for the geek (computer related crimes have been common here, so that kind of crimes towards Finnish computers automatically lead to jail time to keep the bastards on American comps).
The whole experience has made me realize that it isn't the leaders that are criminal in your country, it's your people all hate should be directed against. I sincerely hope all people with computer crime history, and those with skill to do them, die a painful death preferrably in the next terrorist attack to US.

Dear Mr. Finn,
Are you advocating the use of force against the United States?
Posted by: Collin Baber at April 20, 2005 03:20 AM (FV4oJ)
29
I am advocating the use of force against a certain type of a US citizen, yes. This does not necessarily involve attacking the entire country, just a door-to-door clean-up attack against persons and their familias with misused computer skills.
Posted by: A Finn at April 20, 2005 04:09 AM (cWMi4)
30
Dear Mr. Finn,
The desire for revenge will bring you nothing. Besides, you're too smart for that. What were the IPs of the perpetrators? What exactly did they do and how did they do it? The more you describe what happened, the faster we can figure out the solution.
Posted by: Collin Baber at April 20, 2005 04:57 AM (FV4oJ)
31
The tactic seemed to be to flood the firewall using 6 PC:s sending viruses and malware, since my kid brother was at the computer, he messed up with the protections and apparently a variation of mydoom got through after 5 minutes of attempts. I am not going to give any IP:s, they either go to your police officials, or then they are used for retaliation, so public displaying of them would warn them and they'd hide.

Posted by: Collin Baber at April 20, 2005 05:59 AM (FV4oJ)
33
Nah, had a up-to-date Panda Software Platinum installed, a 30-day trial version. Naturally XP:s own stuff and self-programmed counterattack measures, which apparently busted one of the 6 attackers, since it stopped after a minute from the start of the attack.
Posted by: A Finn at April 20, 2005 06:09 AM (cWMi4)

Well anyways, soon making decisions about what to do with the bastards, so fuck this, not coming back for a day or two, so better ban me to avoid getting any more of hatred and rage bursting to this site from the depths of my rediscovered endless pits of hatred towards American computer people.

Script kiddies are indeed scumbags. You have my sympathies on that. While you are busy hating the US, please remember that the PC you are using to spread your hate was invented in the US, the OS you are using again comes from American innovators, and finally the Internet which allows you to spread your message to a worldwide community was invented by Americans and given to the world for free.

I remember back in '98 I was in a chat room and some crazy Neo-Nazi dudes started spamming everyone. I played along and logged back in as "Jewcrusher34" and managed to get a email address out of one of them. I wrote...he invited me to his website. I sent him a nice virus that zero's your whole fucking hard drive. He must have had a server at home, 'cause the site was zippo the next day. Suckaz. Just so you know, it wasn't a duplicating virus, and blind infection is lame. I've only done that once and I did it for a cause. Finn, get a mac with OSX. In all the years I've had a mac, I've never had a virus once because all the hackers want to kill Bill Gates. Don't forget as well: some of the best software was developed by these punks...mp3 for example. You can even steal and have good morals...if I download music and like it, I go buy it. I've heard most don't, but then record companies barely pay an artist anyway, so fuck 'em.

Darn... comp repair fellow explained that the attack was actually still way too weak to pass my protections and didn't cause the comp to crash... mydoom had been there for a while and the virus protection had it under control... the actual reason was that I had a comp full of dust and the darn things went up in flames as the attack stressed the machine (How was I supposed to know I need to vacuum the darn thing, had a air circulation cooler on my last computer, and it didn't get busted by tiny particles of dead fleas or whatever...)
So, basically not actually the fault of their skill, actually a selfdestruction or something... So... sort of apologizing, yet still staying out of here.
