Islamic Jihad Targets Civilians

Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for today's murders of Israeli shoppers near a Netanya mall. While such acts of terror are nothing new from Palestinian terrorists, the image above and to the right shows just why this is a much larger problem. It is a photo of an Islamic Jihad rally in Gaza. The rally is both public and sanctioned by the Palestinian Authority.

The image below was taken at an Islamic Jihad press conference. Yes, you got that right, this was taken at a press conference held by various terrorist organizations and known by the Palestinian Authority.

Whatever happened to the Bush Doctrine of treating terrorists and the states that sponsor them alike? Clearly, the Palestinian Authority is much more closely linked to terrorist organizations than Iraq ever was.

Via Charles Johnson this JPOST article:

Four people were killed and 66 were wounded - three seriously - in an explosion that rocked the entrance to the Hasharon shopping mall on Herzl Street in Netanya at 11:25 a.m. Monday morning. Another person died on the operating table at Laniado Hospital in Netanya.

Police Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi told reporters that the bomber was "identified 15 meters in front of the mall by policemen and a security guard. Police managed to keep him away from the gate, and he blew himself up when police approached him to conduct a search of his bags."...

The Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the attack in a phone call to Palestinian journalists, identifying the bomber as Lutfi Amin Abu Salem, a resident of the northern West Bank village of Kafr Rai, located between the towns of Jenin and Tulkarm.

File under: how about giving these guys a full-fledged, U.N. voting state?

Check out Powerline with images from mall.

Levin a Fantasy

Ok I did see FNS yesterday. Carl Levin started off pretty good but then drifted to the same old same old. Chris Wallace did a pretty good job on the Senator but I have one statement in particular that bothered me a bit.

FOXNEWS: LEVIN: Yes, but what he also said in the same sentence was that Saddam Hussein would like nothing more than to use a terrorist network to attack and to kill, and that is not what the intelligence was, which said that Saddam Hussein was, quote, "intensely secular, wary of Islamic revolutionary movements."

OK Carl let see what Howie can do with that. Saddam was intensely wary of Islamic movements challenging his power in Iraq I can agree with that. But his support of Hamas is well documented. See links below. So what does Hamas have to do with Al-Qaeda? See this post and check the links to understand how this works. Al-Qaeda is an offshoot of HamasÂ’ military wing the The Abdellah Azzam Brigades. Read this and you begin to see the loose relationship. Even Hamas itself is leery of its stepchild. For instance after the bombings in Egypt last summer the Abdellah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility but that claim was quickly replaced by another claim by an unknown group to downplay the relationship. HamasÂ’ attempts to become a political party are haunted by its past. So while Saddam was careful to keep control of Iraq he supported terrorist activity outside Iraq and lent aid as he could to those who seek to kill Jews and Americans. We donÂ’t often think about the fact that Al-Qaeda was born of the Palestinian conflict. ItÂ’s apparent when Egypt gets bombed but more subtle when the US, England or Iraq is attacked but itÂ’s there none the less.

Everybody Was Lying All The Time Except Now Believe Me.

Ok top liars about the war in Iraq this week are:

Bill Clinton, Madeline Albright, Democratic Senator Carl Levin of Michigan and the number one lying traitor this week is Senator Jay Rockefeller D WV.

Foxnews
WALLACE: But you voted, sir, and aren't you responsible for your vote?
ROCKEFELLER: No. I'm...
WALLACE: You're not?

Ok so the bottom line is that the congress when voting for the Iraq war shirked its duty. The constitution grants war powers to the congress. The congress ever wary of ever doing anything passes the buck to President Bush by granting him powers to use his best judgment rather than actually declare a state of war. Why do this? Because the American public has the attention span of a fruit fly. Now they can both cast blame on the President and distort the truth for political gain. So I took the google challenge on this one and it seems to me the real problem here is that the congress was full of chickenshit pass the buck cowards. In fact any President who gets one of these “authorizations” probably gets a queasy feeling right from the start because he knows the congress is to hell with what is right, which way is the wind blowing today?

Others: Watchblog, Techcentral, Michelle Malkin, Don Surber and last but not least California Conservative who made instapundit today. Way to go CC.

Second Pixi Misa says that mu.nu will be moving to new servers over the weekend. Expect to see some flakey stuff but also expect that next week this thing will run like striped ass mule. Over the weekend you should be able to read The Jawa Report and other mu.nu blogs but temporary flakeyness or lack of comment boxes just means Pixi Misa is working on it. Please be patient itÂ’s hard to keep all these blips running around in order. If a computer works right it is normally because somebody was just too stubborn to let the damn thing win. So below I present a boat load of links from this week. Yes the best of the best except for a few things that got by me. This post is open to all track backs The Jawa Report did one two Fridays ago and got a good response. IÂ’ll do that every other week till Rusty gets back to us. Speaking of Rusty, he did post today so donÂ’t miss that.

French Riots Spread.

DonÂ’t miss TraderrobÂ’s post over the weekend on the Paris riots. This has now spread beyond the borders of France. Europe is always being so sweet. We must understand them and assimilate them. Wait a minute itÂ’s not them who is the target of assimilation itÂ’s us. They want us assimilated. The enemy will continue to take advantage of our tolerance as part of their strategy. When reacted against they fade away then just when you think itÂ’s getting better boom they are back. See they are thinking longer term than we in the west. We canÂ’t wait to get back to our bag of chips and the TV. We canÂ’t wait for the fantasy that this is all a Bush scheme for oil to come true so we can pop open a fresh bag of Ruffles. Why because the truth is just so inconvenient. How bothersome that we will have to put aside our better qualities and fight tough and hard. The terrorists are betting we canÂ’t put down the bag of chips and will wishful think our way strait to defeat. We can defeat the terrorists, no problem. They donÂ’t have a society and I dare say a chance in hell to defeat us unless we hand it to them. But we can defeat ourselves and the jury is still out on that. Will the world wake up and see the truth for what it is or will we all descend into politics as usual and bicker why they quietly position themselves for the next battle?

Traderrob:What do decades of idle submission and spineless obeisance under the guise of tolerance reap?

Yahoo:

As urban unrest spread to neighboring Belgium and possibly Germany, the French government faced growing criticism for its inability to stop the violence, despite massive police deployment and continued calls for calm.

See Captain's Quarters for more.

Captain Ed: The riots in France have little connection to the Islamist terrorist offensive against the West, if the American media coverage gives any indication. However, alert CQ reader Mr. Michael points out that both American and French media sources warned of coordinated Islamist action against France in the weeks before the riot.

Carnival of Liberty XVIII is up at fpffressminds

Also today the house votes on internet speech.

NY Post: After all, when it comes to the Internet, money hardly translates into influence. Israel vs Islamic Jihad.

FOXNEWS: Israeli forces encircled a house in the West Bank town of Qabatiyeh after sundown Sunday in pursuit of two militants linked to a deadly homicide bombing in central Israel last week. The two men opened fire on the troops and tried to flee the house, so the soldiers opened fire and killed them, the army said

Iranian opposition calls Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a Moron. Ok so I can agree with that.

FOXNEWS:Ahmadinejad's remarks harmed Iran. It was irresponsible and illogical," said Rajabali Mazrouei, a prominent reformer and former deputy. "We can't be more extremist than Palestinians themselves".

Paris Riots Continue. Nope Jihad Watch is not down.

UN Security Council passes resolution against Iran.

CNN:The resolution is under Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, which holds open the ultimate possibility of the Security Council considering the use of force with failure to comply. Speaking in Monday's meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the resolution "made it clear that failure to comply with these demands will lead to serious consequences from the international community." She called the Chapter 7 resolution "the only way to compel the Syrians" to cooperate

Tony Blair Talks Back to Iran.

After Wednesdays display of stupid by IranÂ’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad followed almost immediately by Islamic JihadÂ’s bombing in Israel. Tony Blair has had enough. Islamic Jihad is supported by Iran and has headquarters in Damascus Syria.

Times of LondonTimes of London: Ending a one-day European Union summit, the Prime Minister called the explosive declaration by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday a disgrace. Promising discussions with Washington and other allies over how to react, Mr Blair said that he had often been urged not to take action against Iran. But he added: “If they carry on like this the question people will be asking us is — when are you going to do something about Iran? Can you imagine a State like that with an attitude like that having nuclear weapons?”

As Rusty just said Iran is raising the stakes. I think they are betting the US and Britain canÂ’t muster a response. With George W Bush and Tony Blair in the mix along with emerging democracy on two borders and an internal democracy movement I feel itÂ’s a bad bet. Yes itÂ’s time to deal with Iran and Syria. The struggle against intolerant nations will not be easily won. As you can see appeasement does not work. The EU has been trying that and Iran has thumbed their nose at all of us. If we fail to act they will only become more emboldened and dangerous.

Iran says, “Israel, Wipe Them Out”

IranÂ’s new President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has dropped the Mr. Nice guy lately.

Yahoo News: Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury, any (Islamic leader) who recognizes the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world," Ahmadinejad said. Ahmadinejad also repeated the words of the founder of Iran's Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who called for the destruction of Israel. "As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, who came to power in August.

So Mr. Ahmadinejad just how do you propose to do that with all peaceful nuclear technology you are working on that you just transferred to your military? The radical shift in Iran shows how much pressure having two democratic states on their borders added to the domestic cry for freedom is having. They must paint everyone as an enemy of Iran and create a struggle to maintain enough support to stop freedom. Current political problems in the US have left an opening for other nations to pour on pressure. Several have been taking advantage this week including Canada on timber and NAFTA.

Surfing with Howie.

Because I'm very sensitive to the fact that someone out there wants to saw my head off.

Saddam tied to Al-Qaeda by UN FOXNEWS:

New details of how dark the scandal could prove to be have emerged from the private sale of IHC on June 3, 2005, just as the procurement scandal was about to break. It now appears that while doing business with the U.N., IHC had links both to Saddam HusseinÂ’s old sanctions-busting networks, and to a Liechtenstein-based businessman, Engelbert Schreiber, Jr., known among other things for his ties to a figure designated by the U.N. itself as a financier of Al Qaeda

See: Dr Sanity.

So this explains why Saddam refused to give up old Zaqueery. IÂ’m very sensitive to the fate of those people in Iraq so Saddam should HANG after a fair trial. Also the trial should be blasted loudly day and night and be on Iraqi Nightline every freaking day for two years.

Michael Yon Reports on Iraqi Elections.

Yon:My dispatch entitled “Purple Fingers," covering the Iraqi Constitutional Referendum is finished. An excerpted version will be published in “The Weekly Standard” on Monday, 24 October 2005. The complete dispatch will be published here on the same day. On the evening before “Purple Fingers” is published, Sunday October 23rd, I will conduct a live radio interview from Iraq. Listeners can tune in over the Internet at 9:20 pm EST. For information about the program.

Burned Bodies, What Really Happened.

One of the big stories this week was the supposed desecration of enemy bodies in Afghanistan. See this interesting report on NPR from the photojournalist who filmed the shots. He says the report on Aussie TV was misrepresenting US soldiers. First click on listen to see what the man who was there said. Next read the transcript of the Aussie program to see if they jive. Let me seeÂ….. Uh nope.

NPR:Stephen Dupont, the photojournalist who shot images of the incident, says he believes the Americans were following orders to burn the bodies for hygiene reasons.

The way I see it we gave em all damn day. Also note he says what no one else does. After the Taliban left these men to rot the next day the Americans sent a party to assist with the burial. Also note he says the corpses were not arranged in any fashion they were burned just where they fell. Read the transcript as well. Our boys look pretty good. Note the media twisting and spin the photographer is complaining about in bold. Also the media has twisted the timeline to sensationalize this.

Bush Meets With Abbas

Today President Bush met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. After the one hour meeting short statements were made. President Bush called Palestine to confront the armed gangs that constantly cause problems there. IÂ’ve noted that this is a problem. The Palestinian forces have not been wiling or able to face Hamas leaving Israel with the rather nasty job of doing so. If you are going to have a state you canÂ’t depend on your neighbor to do the dirty work for you.

MSNBC:

President Abbas is a man devoted to peace and to his people’s aspiration for a state of their own,” Bush said. “And today, the Palestinian people are closer to realizing their aspirations.” But, Bush said at a news conference after a one-hour meeting in the Oval Office, “the way forward is confronting the threat armed gangs present to creation of a democratic Palestine.”

At the same time the President warned Israel to be also following the roadmap to peace.

Israel should not undertake any activity that contravenes its roadmap obligations... ... Without elaboration, the president said Israel would be “held to account” for any actions that hamper peacemaking or burden the lives of Palestinians.

So it appears the US is being fair and balanced to both sides. Contrary to the perception that Israel wags our dog Mr. Bush seems to have both these dogs by the tail. I would even go so far as to say that if these parties get out of line hit them in the pocket book. Palestine desperately needs the aid we have been giving. How the same thing will work on Israel needs no explanation. The US has invested many years and untold billions of dollars trying to clean up this UN mess. ItÂ’s time we stop holding hands and pussyfooting around and demand not ask for both sides to get it together.

Ok if you are so far left that Berkeley don't want you to speak. Well I guess that says it all.

SunHerald:

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - (KRT) - Berkeley's Veterans Day ceremony, scheduled for Nov. 11, was abruptly canceled on Monday because the volunteer organizing committee split over the political content. At issue was a proposal by the chairman, singer/songwriter Country Joe McDonald, to have Bill Mitchell, a co-founder of Cindy Sheehan's organization, Gold Star Families for Peace, as the keynote speaker.
