See, I was getting ready to have some fun and smack USC around on here because Texas is a Big 12 team and I have to go with the conference if my beloved Huskers aren't playing in the championship game.
But I just discovered something that is going to stay my big mouth for 9 1/2 more months.

Dec 27, 2005 — KUWAIT (Reuters) - A Kuwaiti court on Tuesday sentenced to death six suspected militants linked to al Qaeda attacks in the country.The six were among 37 Islamists charged with links to militants in neighboring Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Police said some had confessed to planning suicide attacks against U.S. military and Western targets in Kuwait.
Kuwait hates Israel in general and Jews in particular, but hasn't sent them to die in gas chambers.

The niece of the man who orchestrated the destruction of the World Trade Center seventy-eight blocks to the south has a point. After September 11, the name bin Laden (which is how itÂ’s spelled when referring to Osama) turned radioactive, borderline satanic-by-association. It made her feel cursed, presumed guilty—made her wonder if it might keep her from ever getting a record deal. So she took her motherÂ’s maiden name, Dufour, which makes for a better first impression, even though the bin Laden taint is always there.

I saw this today and I just had to post it. Mike Stokley was a soldier that gave his all in Iraq this year. His father expresses his thoughts over at The Mudville Gazette.
Robert Stokely : For whatever reason, the last few days what Cindy Sheehan said "Casey didn't die for a just cause" has been on my mind... ...My response is that Mike didn't die for a "just cause", he died JUST BECAUSE - just because he loved his country enough to want to serve it since the time he was in middle school; just because he loved his family enough to want to protect them; just because he loved his friends enough that he would rather fight a war "there" than here; just because he believed in our order of government whereby the civilian government rules and the military obeys, and when the President, with lawful authority, calls upon soldiers to go and fight, he believed it was not only his duty, but his honor to go; just because he wouldn't let his fellow soldiers - his guys - go it alone; and just because he wanted to do for others - the Iraqi people - what he would do for his own country.

I’ve never been more proud of Mr. Bush or Mr. McCain. John McCain for sticking with it and Mr. Bush for proving he is a reasonable man. Look out for the “me too” on the left. But no this is Moderate and Conservative Republicans working together and coming to an agreement. Also notice the forward looking let’s solve a problem attitude. Rather than stomp on America these men got together and worked out a good solid compromise. So if the left hopes to cut the moderates from the Republican herd I say to them, “Fat Chance”!
the agreement will "make it clear to the world that this government does not torture and that we adhere to the international convention of torture, whether it be here at home or abroad."
"We've sent a message to the world that the United States is not like the terrorists," McCain said earlier as he sat next to Bush in the Oval Office. "We have no grief for them, but what we are is a nation that upholds values and standards of behavior and treatment of all people, no matter how evil or bad they are. And I think this will help us enormously in winning the war for the hearts and minds of people throughout the world in the war on terror."
Could not have been said any better eh? We just get it done thatÂ’s all and with without dishonoring our nation. May God bless George Bush and John McCain they do it just the way it should be done. Rather than go around bad mouthing they get together and work it out like reasonable men. We donÂ’t always agree but we understand each other and love our country first! Common sense practical solutions are what we are all about.
Another reason for moderates to stick with the W man.

Sixmeatbuffet:Play the children's war game that ties your hands from the very beginning! Fight the War on Terror with nothing but white flags and low-ranking Senatorial game pieces. Fun for the whole family - right up until the beheading!
John Howard and his plan for Aussie Riot control. Alternate. Sunday is for white guys, Monday is for Muslims, Tuesday is for whites again so on and so forth.
A good argument for what happens when gun control goes too far. No gun control at all and you get everyone carrying an RPG. Too much and you get homeowners unable to defend their property from hooligans. Fear of the police wonÂ’t stop riots. On each side you have innocent people caught up in this. If there was a healthy fear that you might spend the next six hours having buckshot extracted from your behind, itÂ’s possible you might think twice about burning some guyÂ’s car. If you are one of those "guns kill people idiots" I have a solution for you. Rock salt reloads are an excellent non-lethal deterrent and does not have to be dug out. Burns like hell too until it dissolves. That should leave a lasting impression!
Also why it is some Arabs move to a country and want to enjoy all the benefits of that country but still they consider themselves Arabs first. Want to live in a western country move there and call yourself an American or an Aussie. But as you can see some of these jerks live in Australia but speak of their hosts as if they are the immigrant. Uh, you can always leave if you take no pride in the country you live in. Stop taking advantage of the hospitality and go build a decent homeland so we donÂ’t have to put up with you. If you want to be a loyal citizen good for you and welcome. Otherwise hit the road Jack.

There will be stories like this all week. We have a lot of troops in Iraq right now to help with the election which means they are more exposed. Also expect assassinations and attempts to derail the election. I expect that the election will go off as planned. IÂ’m not sure who killed this guy but donÂ’t forget Saddam loyalist Sunnis warned Al-Qaeda this week not to interfere. May be them or rivals or one of the opposition.
Some people just donÂ’t get it.

See how this works? The Government serves the People not the other way around. Then the people serve God in the manner they see fit. IÂ’m a bit perplexed by all this concern for Mr. Williams may he rest in peace. LetÂ’s not forget that if you truly believe that this man was redeemed then he no longer suffers and is free of prison and the evil that plagued his youth. IÂ’ll not judge Mr. Williams statements of late or question if he was guilty of the specific crime he was executed for. I do however want to take a minute to point out the following. Tookie was a very lucky man. How you say? Old Stan as leader of the Crips would have gotten the best drugs, the best women, and everything his heart desired. After his arrest he was most likely treated well in prison by both the inmates and the staff as he held power. Yes Mr. Williams could end your life with just a word. His word could start a riot or end one. Also after his redemption he wrote books was allowed to do other good things. With his execution he becomes even more of legend. I for one hope his redemption was in fact real and may God have mercy on his soul. I support the death penalty but an execution is not a pleasant task it is a somber sad responsibility. By his own admission he was a criminal and therefore justice has most likely been served. So donÂ’t cry for Tookie he did a lot of living no matter how you slice it.

CNN:An Egyptian man was found dead near Tikrit on Saturday, a day after gunmen abducted him from his home of 10 years in the northern part of the city. Mohammed Ibrahim al-Hilali, who was a contractor doing business with the U.S. military, was found Saturday morning on a road between Tikrit and Baiji, police said.

Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for today's murders of Israeli shoppers near a Netanya mall. While such acts of terror are nothing new from Palestinian terrorists, the image above and to the right shows just why this is a much larger problem. It is a photo of an Islamic Jihad rally in Gaza. The rally is both public and sanctioned by the Palestinian Authority.
The image below was taken at an Islamic Jihad press conference. Yes, you got that right, this was taken at a press conference held by various terrorist organizations and known by the Palestinian Authority.
Whatever happened to the Bush Doctrine of treating terrorists and the states that sponsor them alike? Clearly, the Palestinian Authority is much more closely linked to terrorist organizations than Iraq ever was.
