Tookie and Barrabas

A long post by me up at Patterico's Place on the impending demise of a great humanitarian, Stanley "Tookie" Williams, the Ken Lay of cocaine.

1 But they made a movie about his life? He writes children books! he only murdered four people? You'd think if Hitler had built wooden toys for a living after the war, the left would have nominated him for a Nobel peace prize, too.

2 If the protesters spent such time and energy rallying around the families he destroyed, they might make the world a better place. They don't see the difference (as is par for the course with some on the left, you know ... the black and white world they live in?) between sowing terror by killing inncocent people purposefully and the meting out of harsh justice to those who commit such heinous crimes. Mind-boggling isn't it?

3 Cases like these happen every once in a while. They are annoying but typical. Why doesn't the left and celebrities get creative! Convince the families of the victims to agree. Make them an offer - its an old tradition - blood money. Let the families decide! Come on celebrities ! You've got millions! Pony up. Victims have families and families have suffered - Money wouldn't bring back the dead but may help ease the suffering and hardships endured by the families. So make them an offer. Put your money where your mouth and heart is - it will make you feel better and good about yourselves. I know - it sounds a lil' perverse - but I'll let the victims families make that discision. There are bills to pay, kids to send to colleges, mortages etc.
