Teacher Lina Sinha - Nasty in Manhattan

(New York City) The convoluted story of Lina Sinha (pic), Manhattan Montessori school teacher and director, was exposed last October when she was charged with sodomy and rape of a student.

Sinha was accused of having a long-term sexual relationship with a student, starting when the boy was 13 years old and lasting until he was 17. She was arraigned and freed on her own recognizance, however, she was instructed to surrender her passport to prevent flight to India where she has relatives.

Since that last court appearance, more trouble has visited Sinha. Yesterday, additional charges were filed.

From NYPost.com:

The female director of an East Side Montessori school was a little-boy-crazy "predator," Manhattan prosecutors charged yesterday, as they accused her of bedding two of the school's students - often on school property, and starting when they were only 12 and 13 years old.

The disgraced administrator, Lina Sinha, 40, who has worked for almost 20 years at the East 55th Street school founded and still owned by her parents, was also charged with trying to cover her tracks through lies and bribes of sneakers, cellphones and cash.

In all, Sinha faces 81 charges of rape, sodomy, bribing a witness and tampering with a witness and evidence.

"It is the people's position that this defendant is a predator," lead prosecutor Florence Chapin told a judge in Manhattan Supreme Court, after Sinha pleaded not guilty.

The most serious charges in the shocking indictment are for first-degree rape - for allegedly having sexual intercourse with the 12-year-old for a year, beginning in February 2001.

Whoa! Hose her down!

Two boys and 81 criminal counts related to illegal sexual behavior at a school -- for years! -- and nobody noticed? Come on! I don't believe it. Many people associated with the school had to be looking the other way, intentionally.

In the meantime, Sinha allegedly has been impeding investigators while trying to frame the first victim, who is now an adult and an NYPD officer, with fabricated assertions that he was a rapist.

Sinha's bail was set at $50,000 by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Carol Berkman and it was promptly posted. The next court appearance is scheduled for August 16. If convicted of the rape and sodomy charges, Sinha faces a possible 25 years in prison.

'Moderate' Muslim Country Jails Two for Publishing Mohammed Cartoons

Two editors of a Jordanian newspaper have been sentenced to jail for publishing cartoons depicting Mohammed, the man Muslims claim was a "Prophet".

Remember, Jordan is held up as a model moderate Islamic country. In fact, Jordan is moderate....but isn't it sad that this is what passes for moderate in the Islamic world? Nowhere in the Islamic world is there anything that passes for freedom of speech. Nowhere.

Khaleej Times:

A Jordanian court Tuesday sentenced to prison two newspaper editors for “attacking religious sentiment” by reprinting cartoons deemed offensive to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), their lawyer said.

Jihad Momani, former editor of the weekly Shihane tabloid, and Hisham Al Khalidi, editor-in-chief of the tabloid Al Mehwar, “were each sentenced to two months in prison,” attorney Mohammed Kteishat told AFP.

Reporters Without Borders had this tepid reaction:
Reporters Without Borders protested today against two-month jail sentences imposed yesterday by a Jordanian court on two journalists, Jihad Momani and Hisham Al-Khalidi, for reprinting cartoons of the prophet Mohammed that appeared in a Danish paper last year and expressed concern about journalists being harshly punished for doing so.

“This is the first time journalists have been given prison sentences for reproducing the cartoons,” the worldwide press freedom organisation said. “The sentences are totally out of proportion. We hope they will be reduced on appeal. We urge other Muslim countries where journalists are being prosecuted for this not to follow Jordan’s example. Journalists must not be punished for their editorial decisions. The two journalists in this case were simply doing their job by choosing to reproduce the cartoons, like dozens of other media outlets around the world.” [emphasis mine]

Hopefully, this is just a translation error. Does the group wish their sentences to be reduced or overturned?

If the former, then Reporters Without Borders is agreeing to the notion that states have the right to censor that which offends our religious sensibilities--just not harshly. Perhaps a one-week sentence would seem appropriate?

If the latter, then I fully agree. Freedom of religion must include the right to criticize religion--even if that criticism is deemed offensive. If I do not have the right to criticize your religion, then I am not fully free.

In my opinion, Muhammed was a pedophile and a pervert. Worse, he started a religion which rejects the concept of separating church and state and which--from it's founding--condoned the use of military conquest for spreading faith. Next to Communism, political Islam has contributed to more deaths than any other ideology in history---perhaps even more.

Please indict me. I dare you.

Unfortunately, there is not a single Muslim country where I am fully free to say the above.

Hat tip to Robert Spencer who has more.

MSM Monster Staging "Dangerous Situations"

When our friends at NODNC sent us this funny little parody about "the media monster", I didn't know what to do with it. That is, until The House of Wheels sent us this story.

Short version: Liberal TV producer asks soldiers to stand behind General. Liberal TV host asks General if situation isn't safe given that General needs soldiers standing behind him to protect him. General gets pissed.

The media monster indeed. Go check out the story, but make sure to watch the video here. It's pretty un-freaking-believable. Apparently the Australian media suffers the same deficiencies as their American counterparts.

Haditha

Michelle Malkin writes:

The investigations are still ongoing. That's not an excuse to ignore or dismiss the extensive reporting on the story.

She's right, it's not an excuse. It's a reason to ignore or dismiss the extensive reporting on the story.

Yes, it's mostly one-sided at this point.

Not according to my blogroll. And I have a mighty big blogroll.

But if, if, even a fraction of it is true, it deserves the most vehement condemnation and most severe punishment.

A fraction? What's a fraction of the truth? A half truth? Which is a lie, according to most definitions.

Toddlers are dead.

This toddler?
Or is it this one? What about this toddler? Then we have this toddler who died too.

As much as the Left's glee over this story distresses me, it doesn't compare to my dismay at the Right's attempts to cover it's ass before the fact.

By rushing to get ahead of the curve, relying on leaks from anonymous sources and various press accounts, the people saying "if this is true, and it seems it is, they should hang" are doing as much damage to the war effort as the Left.

But they'll celebrate, as I do, the Greatest Generation. The one that interned Japanese, nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki (toddlers are dead, people), firebombed Dresden and Tokyo, invented the flamethrower, Napalm, White Phosphorous, and various and sundry other horrific ways to kill people.

We correctly laud these things as having been necessary in order to protect our United States, but, the fact is, each of these killled many civilians. And we sanctioned it, and have accepted it for decades.

Such is war.

Yes, let's those of us who weren't there, and never will be, flagellate ourselves over this, without any charges, or Court Martials even being brought. Let's make sure we don't give the Left any excuse to criticize us for not speaking out against it.

Because that's what the Right is doing. Making sure they get in a fraction of condemnation before the Left has a chance to jump on them for not doing so. Because, see, we always have to take the high road. Show them how better we are than they are.

Screw 'em. I don't have to pillory the Marines preemptively to prove I'm better than the moonbats. They've pilloried themselves on this subject quite well already.

So until someone ponies up the fact that Iraqi men, women, and children were lined up against a wall and executed, I'll reserve my judgment on the issue.

Until the truth comes out, shut the hell up about Haditha. Somewhere, Khomeini is smiling.

UAE Diplomat Freed in Iraq after Ambassador Withdrawn

A diplomat from the UAE held hostage in Iraq since May 16th has been released. The man, Naji al-Nuaimi, was being held by a group calling itself the Banner of Islam and had demanded that the UAE break all diplomatic ties with Iraq and that the Dubai baised Al-Fayhaa TV channel be shut down.

On May 18th al Jazeera broadcast a videotape of the hostage. The next day the UAE withdrew its senior diplomat from Iraq. The TV station was not shut down.

AFP:

The captors of a United Arab Emirates diplomat held in
Iraq for a fortnight have freed their hostage, an Emirati foreign ministry official confirmed.

"Emirati diplomat, Naji al-Nuaimi, who was kidnapped in Iraq on May 16, was released this evening," the official said.

We're glad that he was released safely. However, by meeting at least one of the terrorists demands, this will only mean more hostages will be taken in the future.

Hat tip to George.

German Suicide Bomber Intended to Blow up Her Own Child in Iraq

Do suicide bombers love their children? Apparently not. Three German women were arrested after they posted messages on Islamist websites in which they claimed that they intended to travel to Iraq to become suicide bombers. Not satisfied with blowing other people's children up, they decided it might be a good idea to murder their own children in the process. Der Spiegel:

German authorities may have thwarted suicide bomb attacks in Iraq by German women. According to intelligence sources, three women were prevented from travelling to Iraq after one of them had announced she planned to blow herself up in Iraq.

SPIEGEL ONLINE has learned that German intelligence agencies have prevented three German women from travelling to Iraq in recent weeks. The women, who have close contacts to the Islamist scene in Germany and at least one whom has converted to Islam, came to the attention of intelligence agencies after one of them had announced on an Internet site that she intended to blow herself and her child up in Iraq.

After the Web posting were spotted, Germany's domestic and foreign intelligence agencies mounted an intense search for the three women. One of them was located in Berlin, the other two are believed to come from southern Germany. The Berlin woman's child was taken away from her and she has been put in a psychiatric clinic. The two other women were also prevented from leaving Germany. One of them is also believed to have a child.

Naked Witch Arrested in Saudi Arabia

If it wasn't so sad that Saudi Arabia actually has religious police going around arresting people on suspicion of "witchcraft" it would be funny.

Wait. It's still funny.

Via John, always on the lookout for all things 'naked' and 'sorceress', this from the official English language news outlet of the Saudi Arabian fascist government:

Members of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice received a call of a suspected African “sorceress” in the holy city’s Al-Seeh neighborhood. Members of the committee along with police went to the suspected den of the black arts to find a naked African woman. Embarrassed about busting into an apartment containing a naked woman, police paused just long enough for the woman to attempt an escape, still naked, through the window of her flat. Police followed in pursuit to discover that the woman had crashed through the ceiling of the neighbor’s flimsy house and landed on the floor next to a bed of sleeping children.
UPDATE: How do you know if a naked sorceress is really a sorceress?

Throw her out a very high window. If she floats in the air, she's a witch. If she plunges to her death, she's innocent.

Joyner also on the scent.

Beheading Mastermind Captured in Iraq

The good news, it just keeps on a rollin! Another of Iraq's most wanted, Ahmed Hussein Dabash Samir al-Batawi, was captured by Iraqi forces. This follows the announcement of the capture of top Zarqawi aide Kassim al-Ani, also on Baghdad's most wanted list.

As Traderrob notes (hat tip & thanks for the image): Dropping like flies, just a matter of time before we nail the big one. And by 'the big one' he means al Qaeda in Iraq's Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Khaleej Times:

“The anti-terrorism unit arrested the terrorist Ahmed Hussein Dabash Samer Al Battawi on Monday in the Firdos district in the capital Baghdad,” the statement said.

Battawi confessed after he was arrested that he had “chopped off the heads of hundreds of innocent Iraqis” in Baghdad and other parts of the country, said the statement.

Sunday Times Retracts Atwar Bahjat Beheading Story After Bloggers Fact Check

Bumped....because one can never pat oneself on the back too many times.....

The Sunday Times has retracted their May 7th story in which they claimed they had received a video of the beheading murder of female Iraqi reporter, Atwar Bahjat. As first revealed on The Jawa Report, that video was actually of a slain Nepalese truck driver from August of 2004. Thanks to Greyhawk for following up on the retraction and commenting on it here.

Our original story is here: Atwar Bahjat Beheading Video a Hoax

Times retraction: The Iraq execution video that fooled me

First note that the retraction calls the cold-blooded murder of a civilian an 'execution'. The terrorists that murdered a man by beheading and shot 11 of his co-workers on video deemed it an execution for collaboration with Zionists, Crusadors, and apostates. They use such language because it justifies their actions under Islamic law.

It's not murder, they claim, it's an execution of a criminal. Apparently, the Times agrees. more...

Hot Muslim Lingerie Model Wore Burka to Fend off Rape

Some time ago we brought you the story of hot Muslim model Michelle Leslie, a.ka. Michelle Lee, being warned by an imam to stop posing for lingerie shoots. If you'll recall our original story, you'll remember that we complained to no end about the imam's fatwa. Good Michelle Leslie = lingerie, bad Michelle Leslie = burka.

Well it turns out Leslie donned the burka during her imprisonment in Indonesia to ward off being raped by the filthy buggers who had her imprisoned. The Border Mail:

MODEL Michelle Leslie wore Islamic dress during her stay in a Balinese prison on drugs charges to avoid being raped, she says.

In an interview with New Idea, Leslie said she wore the traditional Muslim headdress to protect herself from men inside the prison she feared would rape her.

Zarqawi Aide Nabbed in Iraq

A top aide to al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al Zarqawi has been captured by the Iraqi Army. Kassim al-Ani is described as a senior al Qaeda leader and was among the most wanted in Iraq. Reuters:

Defence Ministry spokesman Kassim al-Mosawi said that Kassim al-Ani, one of the most wanted people in Iraq, was arrested on Sunday evening.

"The Iraqi army forces arrested three terrorists who belong to al Qaeda, one of them is a senior aide of Zarqawi in Baghdad," Mosawi said.

"He was one of the most wanted ones," he told Reuters, adding that Ani was suspected of being behind many attacks in the Iraqi capital....

Mosawi said the army had received intelligence information that Ani and the two other suspects were in a house in Baghdad's northern Adhamiya district, a predominantly Sunni area.

"We prepared a plan and raided the house and arrested them without resistance," he said.

Mike Pechar (hat tip) notes that this is only one in a string of recent al Qaeda captures. Keep up the good work troops!

Atwar Bahjat Story Retracted: Where is MSM?

Will Hala Jaber's retraction about the Atwar Bahjat murder get as much coverage as her initial story? Don't hold your breath. So far her retraction has only been printed in two papers: The Sunday Times and The Australian.

The Guardian's online blog section also mentions the retraction, with a nod to The Jawa Report. The Guardian:

Sunday Times reporter Hala Jaber, one of Britain's most respected foreign correspondents, has admitted that she was hoaxed by a videotape she thought showed the beheading of a fellow journalist and friend....

Bahjat's TV network, Al Arabiya, immediately denied Jaber's version of events and the blog the Jawa Report linked the Nepalese video with the one seen by Jaber.

Following queries about the video, from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Media Watch TV programme, Jaber wrote her follow up piece.

Compare that to the hundreds of articles that came on the heels of the initial erroneous story that Bahjat had been beheaded.
