Taylor is yet another one of those dictators that needed the Saddam treatment long before he got it... Is he still a player for al Qaeda? Who knows, but it seems clear that the groundwork for operations in Africa was laid under his watch and with his supervision.

"Question: Are we looking for OBL on the right continent???"
Well, he was in Afghanistan after 9/11, and when given the fact that the Taliban fell pretty quickly means he wouldn't have had a lot of time to flee someplace very far (not to mention the inordinate amount of resources and manpower being plowed into that decrepit region of Pakistan), I'd say the answer to that question is Yes.

Liberia... Isn't that the place most free slaves went to when they were going back to Africa? Hahaaa! You can't attack there, all your black people would turn against your government.

Being an american is more than skin color. That's what makes us so great...our diversity and tolerance. I mean, afterall, we're tolerating your ignorance here pretty well, I think...

I too agree that all people are supposed to be equals, but needing constant confirmation of that(gay pride-marches, huge rise on feminine programming, r&b and rap in the media) shows some people don't think of themselves as equals . As long as people different from me think they are equals naturally and without a need to confirm it from another person or legal document, I will treat those people as my equals. However, who ever thinks is better than me automatically goes down to pondscum level in my mind.

That's the biggest bunch of shit I've heard all day. Racism is rampant in America.

Talking about tolerance, KKK. We've never had anything like that, how about you? Fine, that organisation is a nice way to make people hate rasists more than the targets even in hillbilly county, but still, having it shows your tolerance has gotten too far and is allowing activity that is not pointed just at fanatic Muslims.

Hmm... just had a look at your government. Unless you have 77% white people in your country, you have unfairly shared your power. We have only 2,1% of people from a different cultural background, and the 1,9% has a member of their party (of 9 people =P) in the government, 0,2% have 5 out of 200 seats and the 1,9%s language is the second official language. Can't you even share your power fifty-fifty for the sake of equality? Also, make Spanish and Chinese official languages in which services must be provided if requested.

Considering you are one of the biggest racists I have come accross, I can understand why you think that way. How you must pine for the days of the large KKK rallies on the mall. Too bad for you that we will never allow those days to return.

We will share power with whoever stands up and shows themselves worthy. Race is not an allowable consideration, nor should it be.

Re: the KKK - We have a guy in our government, he's a senator, who was a Grand Kleagle of the KKK. He actually filibustered the Civil Rights Act. He's a flaming liberal Democrat by the name of Robert Byrd. Republicans ran a guy againt David Duke when his affiliation in that horrible terrorist organization was discovered. Democrats can't say the same as Byrd is the longest serving senator on the lefty side of the aisle.
Is there racism in America? I'm sure there is. Not all of it is whites hating blacks though. And there has been great progress towards the ideal of racial equality so eloquently stated by Dr. King that a man shouldn't be treated based on the color of his skin, but rather the content of his character.

Are there any other signs than occasional whitey-hating rappers of a distinctive loathing because of the years of slavery?

Understand that NOT ONE PERSON ALIVE TODAY was either a slave or a slaveholder. The idea that we should pass on these old hatreds to our children is ludicrous.

I can think of about 10 or 20 people who say they are like slaves in their homes, but that's not the same thing... There is still slavery in the world, south-east Asia and Africa mostly, the child labour factories don't often even pay the kids other than food for their work.

Nope...they are rhyming reverends...who use the cloth to push their agenda of preferential treatment for some but really are about maintaining the status quo. They aren't interested in blacks developing skills that will get them ahead in life, but rather support a culture of stagnation for their flock. I'm really not doing their particular brand of evil much justice in my description here, maybe someone will help me out.

The denial might be a friction factor between ethnic groups as well. Everyone in your country should know that the poor people naturally think that all their kind of people are living in crappier conditions than the other kind of people, and start hating them. Confiscate Bill Gates' money, stocks and property and share it amongst the poor people, that should stop their muttering for about 10 years.

Yes, there is still some slavery in the world. And I think that if you look closely at the situation, you'll see who the culprits are...it isn't really isn't whitey and his evil corporations. Of course, that doesn't mean it should be condoned either. Slavery should be stamped out wherever and whenever it appears. Freedom is the answer...of course, sometimes you have to fight for it...generally, I find that liberals miss that part...

Mr. Finn: Sure..."Stalin's religion" cures all ills...just ask Stalin's political enemies...oh, that's right, you can't. He killed them. "Stalin's religion" isn't freedom...
Note to Rusty: Stalin religion isn't a drug for, uh, enhancement, so why is it a "bad word"?

And, of course, we've veered so far off course from the actual topic of the piece that I must point out that this is typical liberal ploy...don't look here...LOOK OVER HERE! No, don't look over there, the real story is OVER HERE!
The story is that the former Liberian president was working for al Qaeda...

Well, I got a translation for "vihollinen" which means enemy or foe, but the translator had a problem with "sossulaiskottelun" so I'm not real sure if I'm being insulted or not...which really isn't all that big of a deal to me either way.
