The German Galloway

Prominent German anti-war guy is under investigation for Oil-for-Fraud ties. Not only is he an outspoken critic of the U.S., but he also actually worked in the U.N. Oil-for Food program under Benon Sevan, the head UN crook in charge of inspecting Saddam's oil deals and making sure they were kosher. Sevan himself is, of course, deeply implicated in the scandal as well.

Tip of the fez to Barcepundit.

1 Natwar Singh was just forced to step down by India's BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) as well for being named by the Volcker Report as a non-contractual beneficiary of oil-for-food. Singh feels that the probe was targeting those who were opposed to US aggressive actions against Iraq. I'm not saying whether he's guilty or not but I would suggest that the above statement is not structured correctly. It should read "Many of those who opposed US aggressive actions against Iraq did so due to their complicity in oil-for-food scams and there is reason to investigate them." Naturally, they would be investigated, but not all have been alledged as complicit. In fact, they're investigating those who were not opposed as well. Texaco was implicated and I don't remember owner David Chalmers speaking out against the war. Another American oilman, Oscar S. Wyatt Jr., was implicted, yet where did he speak out against the war? Of course, everyone implicated vehemently denies it. Since they're all so innocent, we must have hallucinated the whole thing, right?

2 It's funny how the OFF scandal can't get a mention in the MSM, but Bush can write a note indicating that he needs a bathroom break and it dominates the new cycle for days. The MSM has no credibility whatsoever anymore.
