The Color of Character

I was pretty sure, from the way it began, that Bill Whittle's latest would make me even more depressed than I already am. But for some reason it had the opposite effect. I feel beleaguered by pink, but perhaps that's just part of the initiation into grey. One of many strangely uplifting passages:

So, on one hand, we have a very blue city – New York – confronted, out of the clear morning of a perfect fall day, with no warning – with a terror attack, and they march toward the sounds of screams and falling bodies and die by the hundreds. One the other hand, we have New Orleans law enforcement – also blue – whining about wet shoes and helping themselves to the happy period of lawlessness that followed an event that had been expected for no less than seventy-two hours.

In New York, we had a governor who got every available resource on the ground as fast as it could get there, and in Louisiana we have a governor who...cried. Governor, your job is to not cry. Your job is to be strong. We have plenty of civilians crying. You want to cry, cry in the car on the way home like everybody else did four years ago. Crying Governors, race-baiting mayors and looting police do not a Finest Hour make.

In New Orleans we have a mayor who left some 400-500 buses sitting fueled and underwater in the Ray Nagin Memorial Motor Pool saying that evil white conservative America was selling out his people within 24 hours of the catastrophe, from a safe and dry and adequately toileted location, while four years ago we had a Mayor who ran to the site of the disaster so quickly it is a full-blown miracle he was not killed when a building collapsed literally on top of his magnificent, combed-over head.

1 ..In Washington, we have a shameless administration that has amazed the whole world with its' criminally negligent mishandling of the worst humanitarian disaster in recent American history. I have never seen such an travesty of justice on American soil in my entire life.

2 By the way, some mail from Usa on Monday: 10 sacks of letters to the immigration office...

3 ...which makes me wonder, what have we done to get this awkward attention? Only things where Usacs actually experience Finns or Finland are the Internet, which is heavily Finnfested, and the occasional appearance in some shows like Late Night with Co'B. And I'd say neither give a good impression... Except the Co'B-episode with the flag, the anthem and the "Sweden sucks", that ruled.

4 Random comment browser: Rusty should ban this Finn-guy, he's sooooo full of boring, irrelevant, useless info no-one wants to read... Yes indeed I am, you'd be too if you had absolutely no real opinions or interrest in anything on this site. Only commenting since I have nothing else to do for 2-3 random hours between 8AM and 4PM, and this counts as extracurricular activities to replace English classes which I never attend. Doesn't really matter what I write, as long as it's less than 90% grammatically wrong.

10 Well, there's apparently one binary variable that never changes. The fault assigned to George Bush is always close to unity no matter what the circumstances, so the race in the left-oriented blogosphere is always to find the most creative and exasperatingly irrelevant narrative to explain how that absolutely certain result came to pass. Which, of course, means that any reality-based or modulated criticism of the Bush Administration is always drowned out by idiotic and easily-dismissable claims of culpability; so a coherent assessment can never be heard above the irrational din of accusation. There could be two entirely consistent but opposing conspiracies that explain this odd circumstance: 1. The Left's over-reaching habit is part of a Rovian conspiracy to deflect any criticism from the Bush policies; or 2. The Left's over-reaching habit is part of a Soros conspiracy to prevent the current US system from any realistic analysis and self-correction, rendering us more vulnerable to the Jihadists. The whole thing is airtight and non-falsifiable except in the sense that whether the truth is 1 or 2 really doesn't matter, because in either case the proper course of action is to just ignore what the Left says completely.

11 In 6 months Rove will be an evil genius for masterminding all this. 7 days of videofootage of the mother of all Willie Horton Ads and finding a replacement for Marion Berry.

12 How is it that stupid people never notice how stupid they are? Ugly people know they're ugly, generally, so what's up with the leftard morons? I gleefully anticipate the day I watch them swing.
