The Clooney-Huffington Affair

Oh no! Arianna's caught in a web of lies. Oh, the humanity! From the LA Times:

Oscar winner George Clooney may make politically provocative films like "Syriana." But he doesn't write politically provocative blogs.

So imagine his ire when Arianna Huffington used some of his recent answers to political questions in a way that makes it look as if he wrote one for her Huffington Post blog site.

The Huffmeister puts it off to a misunderstanding between her and Clooney's publicist.

Clooney's statement:

"Miss Huffington's blog is purposefully misleading and I have asked her to clarify the facts. I stand by my statements but I did not write this blog. With my permission Miss Huffington compiled it from interviews with Larry King and The Guardian. What she most certainly did not get my permission to do is to combine only my answers in a blog that misleads the reader into thinking that I wrote this piece. These are not my writings — they are answers to questions and there is a huge difference."
Yes, The Dread Pundit Bluto was taken in by the devious Huffintoness as well! Oh no! Looks like Huffy pulled George's "blog". What a shame. The fawning "Oh, Mr. Clooney..." comments were priceless.

5 Oh, the huge manatee! I'm so frackin' embarrassed to be related to that guy. Lots of nuts in my family tree. I'm the black walnut.

6 Ok .. so to back track a bit on a comment I'd made when I read Clooney's post, when it was still his post. I'd chastised him for publishing the post right as his political movie goes on sale. That wasn't Clooney's fault, apparently. It was Arianna's for trying to coat-tail on the oscar-driven DVD sale. Not one poster at the Huff&Blo seems to have picked up on that. My bad.

7 Even if he did't write the post, neither did he disavow the words, so he's still a leftard moonbat one way or another.

10 Clooney "doesn't write politically provocative blogs." Bullsh*t. He did before the election and then deleted it after the election. There's no trail now. I should have gotten a screen shot. He was also commenting in other blogs (and articles that allowed commenting) under the pseudonym "Justice Jack". Which was funny because Justice Jack was obviously someone he must have admired. He was a judge in the UK, who after the expiration of a 1695 piece of legislation which guaranteed freedom of the press in Britain, rendered a judgement in 2001 which was leading to new legislation that would gag any stories written by the press which told of the private lives of Hollywood stars. Specifically their love lives. God forbid anyone should find out that our beloved Hollywood stars are promiscuous.

11 I have little regard for Clooney and even less for A. Huffo. I can't shake the thought that she married a perfectly hetero male millionaire and in no time turned him into a homo. She's sinister.

14 So, now Drudge and the AP are flogging this "controversy" - it's so irritating to see how well Hollywood PR people finesse things - this has probably doubled DVD sales for his movie - what's it called? "Whatever and Good Riddance?" - this controversy is the new millenium version of Liz Taylor getting married 8 times - only less entertaining.
