Imre admitted engaging in sexual acts with the boy but said it stopped short of sexual intercourse.
"When this was first in the paper, it was almost a joke, because of the role reversal," prosecutor Cornelius Kelly said. "It conjures up thoughts of, 'Oh, that's a young man's dream.' But as we stand here today, we still don't know what damage this will have on the young boy's self-esteem, his interpersonal relationships. We don't know what damage the young girl suffered."
Imre's daughter, who witnessed some of the acts, is now in foster care, authorities said.
"She has hurt a lot of innocent people, including her own daughter, who not only lost her mother, but her best friend, who was my son," the boy's mother told the judge.
Imre said she was truly sorry.
Is six years enough? Turn it around to be a 30-year-old man mixing it up with an 8-year-old girl. Now, ask if six years is enough. In my opinion, six years is not even close to being enough. Frankly, though, given the customary leniency that courts show toward female pedophiles, I'm surprised she got that much.

I'm sick and tired of the judicial system allowing these creeps to plead out for any reason. Why don't they allow videotaped testimony for young children in sexual assault cases? That way the child wouldn't have the trauma of being in a court room facing his accuser. I'm sorry, but I think if one of my little ones were in that situation, I'd make them testify and just continue the therapy. All these kids are gonna grow up one day and look at their parents and say "I was already traumatized. Why didn't you make me testify so s/he could die in prison instead of getting off with a slap on the wrist?!" I'd be pissed wouldn't you?!

Eight is a bit young. Now 12 years old would have been a different matter. I wanted my english teacher, Mrs. Arce, something bad when I was 12 years old. That was a fine piece of horseflesh.
It's not as bad for boys to get molested by their (female) teacher as it is for girls to. It's every little boys dream actually. Cmon guys, admit it.

The prison time is definitely not enough. Taking advantage of an 8 year old is just sick. There can be no defense for it.
It seems as though since the LeTourneau case there has been an increase in number of these cases - at least one per year. I can't come up with an explanation for it. Is it that it was always fairly common? Also these cases tend to involve teachers who already have families.

8 years old or 12 years old, the level of mental maturity isn't much different. Just because a young boy has begun to have sexual thoughts or inclinations doesn't mean he's mentally prepared to act them out, or be acted upon by an adult, and come out of the ordeal with a stable psyche.

this is extremely disgusting and inappropriate, how can anyone have that kind of interest in having sex with someone's who's 8?..it's very disturbring that someone can be sexually interested in someone that young, and then to actually do things sexual is remarkably sickening and an adult doing something to someone's who's 12 is still sick and very immoral and that kind of behavior is awful and even if a preteen or younger teen would be interested in someone older, it's still not right and not ok and very immoral and a lot of people don't care about morality of one's actions and having sex around 12 is still quite young and some people attitude's towards young people having sex is very demeaning to our society and a lot of preteens/teens make bad moral decisions and have degrading behavior, and she should've had a minimum of 20 years for doing something that sick and courts are too lenient toward female pedophiles and toward most sexual criminals anyways and they should know that this kind of behavior should never occur and some people probably don't deserve 2nd chances if they do something so disgusting and the US gives too many 2nd chances to people who have sickening behavior, and she's going to be out in just 6 years and she may find that boy when he's 14 or other boys that age, or she's at least going to have a free life after only just 6 years when she shouldn't after doing something that despicable..how in the world can she have that interest and want to do such things with someone that young?..ugh!
