Aclu fought on behalf of one person out of 6,000. Amazing how one person can make policy for 5,999 of their fellow citizens over something so innocuous.

Oyster,
Case in point: Some jackass in California(I know, millions of choices) filed a lawsuit to prevent the pledge of alligiance being recited in a school because it violates the separation? between church and state.
Is there a law in California that requires a person to say the pledge of alligiance? No.
Does the school require you to say the pledge of alligiance? No.
OK, and I know, this is getting real hard to follow. So exactly what is the issue here? The state doesn't require you to say the pledge and the school doesn't require you to say the pledge, so what is there for a court to decide?
The reciting of the pledge is a custom in this country and it is one of the ways we achieve our unity. The vast majority of the people want to say the pledge at school, but because they recognize that some people might object, these people are not required to say of do anything. Should be case closed, but the liberal whack jobs are really not interested in anything here but destroying the unity of our nation.
That's really what this whole thing is all about. They say religion, but then they argue that Muslims should be allowed to have prayer rooms at all the schools. Hypocrisy, your name is LIBERAL!

Excellent point, TJ. Runs along the same lines as using reverse-discrimination to correct discrimination.
