1 Now I'm really mad! That man died for a pack of lies told by Blair and Bush. He was sent to Iraq against his wishes, ordered to do things he didn't want to do and was ruthlessly killed by nationalist/jihadi thugs. What are the troops doing over there anyway? Seems the locals keep killing them at the rate of two a day. Is it worth it that three-year old boys grow up fatherless because of BUSH? I say hell no and all you chickenhawks who cheer on this bloody spectacle are guilty of blood treason and should be down low ashamed of yourselves! All you Klansman Roosters and Gimps and Thanoses and assorted thuggish genocidal fantasizers should join the goddamned army or shut the hell up!

4 Did this mother think her son was joining the Weeblos? Did she think that there was absolutely no chance her son might be killed in battle, doing his job? What does she think the guns are for? Endless drill for...something? If she's against any son or soldier ever dying, I wonder if she tried her damnedest to prevent him from enlisting to begin with. I truly feel bad for her, but I think she's blinded by her grief.

8 DSM: To say her son was "sucked into a war" doesn't show the man much respect. It makes it seem like he was some dipshit who was in the wrong war at the wrong time instead of a patriotic soldier fighting for his country's interests, whether its for oil, to oust Saddam, or to kill terrorists. Do soldiers choose whether they want to fight or not? He was being obedient to the Commander-in-Chief, something you fail to grasp. And harrassing his grieving, misguided mother is not the prudent thing to do.

11 YBP, Soldiers, their parents and the rest of us, do not expect that they will be required to fight in wars founded upon lies. They deserve better. And when they come home, they have every reason to expect that the VA will provide care as needed. They earned it. When our government lies to us, they have broken the social contract that binds us and they deserve to be replaced by a new government. 12 There is no point in even trying to rebut Downing Street Memo. He is oblivious to fact that he insults both your intelligence and that of every single serving member of the armed forces with his transparent lies. Unlike DSM, the members of the military and their families are literate. This means we can READ. We can READ Congress' resolution authorizing force, in which they quoted many reasons for going to war, not just WMDs, among which was clear and convincing evidence that Saddam was financing, harboring, and training terrorists. The resolution also mentions the presence of al Qaeda in Iraq BEFORE THE WAR. But DSM doesn't want you to remember that men like Sen. Rockafeller and John Kerry also made that argument on the Senate floor. Imagine that... We can also read the SSCI report and the British Butler report. Their conclusions are quite interesting - namely that NO ONE IN THE ADMINISTRATION LIED. But DSM doesn't want you to know that either. Because he's an asshat.

22 Ahem..... Note the fact that people who may disagree with the President and Mr. Blair fight and die every day for all of us. This man deserves respect and Honor for that just like everyone else. I know some of you believe the entire war was built on lies. This brave man did his duty. See just like the other thread it's not so much about supporting the government it's about the people. Brits who may have disagreed with the current situation were murdered by terrorists. They do not distinguish between liberal and conservative or Libertarian, they see Kufar. I've not noticed the terrorist saying if we stop they will, in fact I am pretty much sure they will find another excuse to kill. Maybe not lies but maybe a case of doing the best you can and being wrong on a couple points. This assumption that it has some evil motivation bothers me. I don't trust the government any farther than I can throw it but it's all we have and we are at war. Like it or not or how it started to support those on the left side who are fighting you have to support the man they work for. You disgrace their sacrafice for our right to voice dissent or agreement. Talking about lies and attacking the President does not get anyone home any faster. Not even those who agree with you but have chosen to do their duty. Also to expect total truth and openness from any government is infantile. 26 I have read almost all the entries and comments made to this article and let me tell you I'm disgusted with how there are so many bleeding heart liberals people there truly are in the US. Why don't you get off these chat places and do your duty to your country and sign up and fight the cause. There is always going to be War in the world and unfortunately death is what comes with it. It truly doesnÂ’t matter why this war is being fought by the USA or any other country for that fact, whether it is based on "lies" or truths I would say a good portion of our military over there believes in the cause and the people back home need to shut up or put out. And yes this is coming from a proud Marine Corps wife whose hubby is due in the Sandbox in the next couple of months. Yes we do have children. When someone joins the military they do know that there is always a chance that they will die due to combat. I for one hold my head high and I still will if it's God's will to take my hubby's life while there. I'm so sick of hearing and reading all these blogs about Bush and any other persons that are responsible for this war. Just shut up and move on this is life in the world. Deal with it.

30 I have to disagree with Greg and DSM, I do expect our government to "always lie" to us. That is why I believe we should let them meet as little as possible. We all know that lawyer's lie, and that most of Congress are lawyers, lawyers = liars, Congress = lawyers, Congress = liars. As for anyone who "volunteers" to join the military, they gamble with their lives when they do. As long as the CnC says go, then they have no choice but to go. So although I honor the sacrifice of the service member, I can not condemn Bush for it. But I also think, like that of Greg, that we do owe all service members, past, present and future, services and care from the VA. As for those who are drafted, which has not been done for awhile, they may have a claim against the government who drafts them. the VA. co

32 Greg, DSM, YBP, I volunteered. 6 Years in the Marines to show for it and never regreted a moment. (Well except for the marriage). Nobody goes in expecting to die. But they did go in, unlike many, who still stand on the side, and cast dispersions. Respect the honored dead. It is the civilized thing to do.

36 Such into war? Not knowing what was going on or what could happen. That would make a pitiful sodier at best. I always knew why I was there. My son knows why he is there. Honor, duty, morals. Shame some would go to war without knowing these values. Who failed to teach them? I taught my children. When my children and many of the neighborhood children reached a certain age/time. I always spent some time with them. The were fixing to leeve boyhood and become men. So we sat down over a cold beer and discussed what every boy should know before he can become a man. They all understood, this like responsibility, protecting those less fortunate that you. The code of manhood thats says those THAT CAN MUST. Because those that can't can't. You know what you have inside and what you must to with it. It guess some missed that speech. Pity. I always seen to it that many of the local boys didn't miss it. None of the local boys sidestep there duty to their family, communities and country. Some have died, some have been wounded rather bably. A bunch of blow hards from other places may have in there thoughts but they have never seen the honor and respect our returning soldiers get. After the parties are over a good job is assured and certain other things are majacially done. You ACLu, liberal, America hating, Bush haters son of a bitches would'nt understand. Because you havent got it in you hearts. Never been here. Just a bunch of nerds behinds a keyboard. Remember. The Gregs, Butches. Downing Street Morons on this blog are human trash.
