NYT: No Rove Frogmarch; Democrats, Press Devastated

According to the NYT, the progression of the much-ballyhooed CIA Plamegate case just plopped a heaping pile of dissapointment on the left-wingut blogosphere. There will be no frogmarch for The Evil One, Karl Rove. No charges, nothing. All that hyperventallating on Hardball, all the CNN pontification, the hoping, the praying, the "Truthout" BS - gone in a puff.

Watch for exploding heads and ripped tinfoil hats. Sombody make sure Jason Leopold is on suicide watch. Drudge is noting that the nutroots and internet "indictment pushers" who have for months been huffing and puffing (including disgraceful "anchor" Keith Olbermann's pathetic assurances on 26 different programs), are dragging their collective behinds reporting the actual truth today. I wonder if this little faux-pas will cause Keith Olbermann qualify for his own "Worst Wanna-be Journalist Person in the World" segment. Doubt it.

I await tonight's Countdown and Hardball with giddy anticipation and will take great pleasure watching these leftwingnuts eat their crow all day. After they shut up for five minutes and let sink in what actually happened in reality, of course.

2 I guess shouting KKK Karl Rove a million times doesnÂ’t really make him guilty of anything does it?

3 I await tonight's Countdown and Hardball with giddy anticipation and will take great pleasure watching these leftwingnuts eat their crow all day. Don't get your hopes up. They won't be eating crow all day. Maybe for about 2 milliseconds, mumbled unintelligently under their breath and just barely discernible to the naked ear. But all day? Nah. It'll be onto the next Liberal non-scandal faster than you can say "reality-based community." But we can laugh at them all day! hahaha! Losers.

4 Good enough for me :-)

5 [sarcasm] I'm sure he's guilty of something! This is a travesty of justice! Wait ... let me add a few more exclamation points !!!!!!! There, I feel better now. I DEMAND THAT MY DEMOCRAT REPRESENTATIVES HOLD A SPECIAL SESSION IN THE BASEMENT AGAIN AND NOT ONLY INDICT, BUT RENDER A GUILTY VERDICT BEFORE THEY RECONVENE UPSTAIRS. (All caps makes me feel better too.) [/sarcasm]

7 Did anyone mention that John Kerry went to Vietnam?

8 It's 10:15 a.m. and still not a word about it on Kos. I guess they still haven't figured out how to "reframe" this one. lol! But I bet it'll be a doozy when they do!

9 As far as Kos goes, here's a pep talk by "emptywheel": http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/6/13/9339/59486

10 Thanks for providing the link Oyster, I would rather see an actual link that someone simply imagining what may be going on in someone"s head.

11 Haha, Oyster, he should have chosen "emptymind" for his nick, much more appropriate. And John, I know you're having a bad day, but cheer up, there's bound to be another fake massacre photo coming out on CNN, et al at any time.

12 john, my bad! I guess I just got thrown for a loop. See, all the ROVE=FELON headlines were page one, and this little "take" was page 16, fine print. I missed it.

13 Another one from Kos: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/6/13/122445/722 The general consensus at Kos seems to be that Rove isn't so important afterall. It's Cheney! They've suffered a big letdown so now they've raised the bar. One commenter in the previous link even opined that maybe Bush was in Iraq to avoid the issue and pretend shock when Cheney resigns.

14 >>>The general consensus at Kos seems to be that Rove isn't so important afterall. Of course he's not!!!! Because they couldn't get him! roflmao! The "reality-based community" never EVER ceases to amuse me.

15 DU, on the other hand, is having conniption fits. Example; "That fat bastard should be slow roasting with a rotten apple in his mouth for treason against America." But some have spontaneously (at the exact same moments as some at Kos) come around to the same way of thinking as the KosKidz consensus. The far-left mind is pretty predictable. To be fair, there are a handful or less who are talking more sense (out of about 200 comments so far).

16 Glorious.

17 >>>for treason against America." Yeah, RIGHT!!!! If Rove were actually guilty of treason against America, Leftards would give him a medal.

18 Pic from Drudge!

19 Umm...We actually were gloating and laughing hysterically from the time he was "indicted in the court of liberal opinion" for a non-crime by over-zealous media outlets. And one.

Posted by: Good Lt at June 13, 2006 02:56 PM (jWYAe)

20 Just the facts: "Dodged a Bullet"? Wouldn't that imply that he had in "fact" done something wrong yet avoided getting indicted? You've obviously passed your own verdict without all the "facts".

Posted by: Oyster at June 13, 2006 03:12 PM (ULAbo)

21 Sad sacks. On the contrary, couldn't be happier. Methinks that is more of the usual Liberal projection. You're sad because Rove wasn't indicted, so that makes us "sad sacks." You're all a bunch of liars, so that means "Bush lied." You're all a bunch of hate-filled angry losers, so that means conservatives "hate", and are "angry." Dr. Melfi would have a ball with you people.

22 Is anyone here actually following the legal aspects of this case? I'm not a Liberal Jesusland. You're a bunch of sad sacks because you are all celebrating without understanding what happened. Fitzgerald has made no statement. Read Luskin's statement. It's worded very specifically. Rove was given immunity in exchange for his tesitfying in the Libby trial. In order to gain immunity, you have to have something to give them. Rove is going to testify against either Libby or Cheney. Either way, it's bad for the White House. Go ahead and celebrate. But, the language by Luskin tells a different story to any legal mind paying attention. “Does not anticipate seeking charges” implies that a deal was made. It's typical covert legalese in high profile cases which are engaging in "ongoing cooperation". That means that Rove will testify, and if he alters his testimony, he'll be charged with perjury and he'll thus forfeit the deal he made to not be prosecuted. This is what every legal mind expected to occur in this case. It's not a good thing. So, go on and celebrate. There is a very real possibility that Rove will testify against Libby. The danger in this is that Fitzgerald, upon gaining a conviction against Libby, can then move onto Cheney. Got it? Sheeesh. Jesusland, go soak your head in some more nonsense.
