, the tiny minority of misunderstanders of the Prophet Muhammed's specific injunction to kill blasphemers is calling on the U.N. to condemn Denmark because a few newspapers chose to run cartoons poking fun at Islam.
Meanwhile, the Left continues to compare the Christian Right with these fascists calling them the 'American Taliban'. Soooooo, when is Pat Robertson going to issue a fatwa against Kanye West?
The interesting question raised by all of this: is Islam inherently unable to support freedom of speech and have radical fascist Muslims found their greatest allies in the Western Left which is often game for passing 'hate speech' laws?
1
This was bound to happen. But they had better be careful, they might get what they wish for. This could easily be used against the Muslims, as they constantly attack the religious beliefs of people who belong to other faiths.
But, of course, the Muslims would be allowed to say and do what they want, and the rest of us would be silenced. In a pig's eye, I say.
I want to make this clear. For the sake of my children, and the sake of the free world, I will never, ever give in to these people, no matter what they say and do. Every man and woman who is committed to living in freedom should make the same committment. These Islamists must be stopped or the world will be returned to the Dark Ages.

Assuming the wording will be as broad as to impose sanctions "to protect religions", then every Islamic nation on the planet will be shooting itself in the foot.

Considering that blowing themselves up is a hobby, shooting themselves in the foot is like breathing. Muslim culture is primitive, backward, and self destructive, and must be put down for the good of humanity and civilization.

The Funny thing is when a Muslim exercise the freedom of speech goes to jail example (I love what happened on sep 11), and when a Christian does Nooooooooooo it's a "freedom of speech".
And let me ask this. lets say a Muslim newspaper publish a cartoon of a Muslim shitting on a cross or a church. Would you consider that to be a "freedom of speech?!"

I don't expect that the UN, as moronic as they are, agreeing to this. Sanctions are too serious to be used just because someone's feelings were hurt. Instead I expect that behind the scenes, the UN will try to pressure Denmark into caving and bending over to end all the complaining. Hopefully Denmark will stand firm. For a religion that's supposed to be so great and all-powerful, Islam always seems to need some new regulation to hide behind. Almost as if confidence in its strength isn't as high as we're all expected to believe.

This is the strategy of fanatical muslims. They do it in the US with organizations such as CAIR. They go on the offensive and claim they're being treated with "intolerance" and "suspicion". DUH. The world cannot tolerate their fanaticism but everyone is so far back on their heels, they're afraid to call radical islam what it is. The fear of being branded as intolerant or racist or somehow "against" diversity keeps everyone quiet.. even our OWN PRESIDENT. Bush is STILL not ready to publicly conceded that the world has a major problem.. in the form of radical islam.

Black Mummy,
What the hell are you talking to? Incitement to join terror organizations has always been considered illegal in the U.S. (For instance, the famous KKK hearings of the late 19th Cent). And, to my knowledge, no person has ever been jailed for religious blasphemy in the U.S. EVER.
Calling someone a jerk or worse for being a religous bigot is one thing, putting them in jail or fining them is far different

Yes, blackmummy, if you knew anything about the West you wouldn't make such a statement. Jesus was depicted in one art piece a few years ago covered with urine, and yes, I was angry but I did not call for international sanctions or violence.
If your religion is good and you are confident in your beliefs, then you should not be worried about what other people say. And violence should never be an option.

Joe,
I lived 10 years in the states. and just because you didn't do anything to protect your belives don't expect me to do the same.
By the way, ask your self why does this newspaper make funn of our prophit? why can't you just say its wrong to make funn of peoples bleives?!
Posted by: blackmummy at January 30, 2006 09:23 AM (X9qqF)

blackmummy, then you should know that there is nothing you can do to keep people here in the states from making fun of your religion.
And it is bad, not wrong, to make fun of someone's religion. I don't think you should do it, but if you have a commitment to freedom, then you must allow it. You don't have to like it, and you can criticize it, but you cannot stop it.

Insulting my religion is about the same level an insult to me as dissing my favorite sports teams.

joe,
if someone spits in your face is it bad or wrong?!
Posted by: blackmummy at January 30, 2006 09:47 AM (X9qqF)

Tell me, blackmummy, how do you feel about your prophet's denigration of Jews and Christians calling them "pigs"? Clean up your own act before you start demanding that others do so.
Posted by: Oyster at January 30, 2006 09:50 AM (5pqct)

blackmummy, spitting in someone's face is a physical act, whereas making fun is not. If you spit in my face, I'm going to whip your ass. You can make fun of my religion all you want to, because you have not physically assualted me.

Joe,
By your law, if I spit in your face and you whip my ass then you would have to pay the damages for my ass!
because spitting is not considered as a physical act in a court of USA law.

For the record--I am pissing on the Koran as I write this.
Issue a fatwa. I dare you.
The same Constitution that protects the right of a Communist to burn the flag protects my right to piss on your Koran.
And, for the record, people make fun of my religion ALL THE TIME. I've been offended over it, but I've never threatened legal action, a boycott, or threats of violence.
Being able to say negative things about religion without a resort to violence is one of the things that seperates civilized people from the backwards tribalism of Islam.

I'm taking my copy of the Koran to the shooting range this weekend.
They don't just make fun of our religion, they actually blow up our houses of worship.
So, yeah, blackmummy, we don't freak out when some idiot puts a crucifix in a jar of urine or throws crap at a picture of the Virgin Mary.
Get over yourself blackmummy, 84% of the world is non-Muslim, and we're working to make sure it stays that way.

10 years in the states didn't do much for blackmummy's command of the english language, nor his understanding of the law. That's because as a Muslim he never ventured beyond the narrow constructs of his religion and its demand that he not fraternize with the infidel. Wouldn't want him to be tainted with the silly ideas of such things as the meaning of freedom, now would we?

Interesting concept - going to the Unitied Nations in an attempt to stiffle free speech in another country - wonder where they got that idea?
Next thing you know people will be running to the UN to control the media and the internet - oooopppppps.
Damn! Is blackmummy the best we can hope for now for argumental discourse? Makes even John Ryan look good! Where has all the lib/left talent gone? If this keeps up, I may end up playing Devil's Advocate and go OPFOR.

I'm assuming an angry letter, or stop buying Danish products, you're a follower of the religion of peace, so that is what I EXPECT you to do, but you nutjobs will probably burn/kill something/someone and claim it's justified.

Also, you have to remember liberals and other assorted talking heads keep babbling "religion of peace" and they might get offended by having to use the "religion of peaces'" text as toilet paper. But needless to say, it is now time to teach muslims a trick. AND THAT NEW TRICK IS FOR THEM TO DROP DEAD VIA M16 ROUNDS TO THE HEAD!
They constantly say "war against Islam" this attitude by these filthy animals shows it is a war by Islam against the West, so they better get ready for some real casualties real soon! I hope we nuke Mecca and Medina!

"just because you didn't do anything to protect your belives don't expect me to do the same."
Good, I'm glad you feel this way because...
Just because you don't believe in free speech doesn't mean we have to stifle free speech.
Just because you claim to value Jesus as a prophet doeesn't mean we have to value Mohammed as a profit. And, by the way, it's ridiculous to value Jesus while dispising Christianity.
