Muslim Fascists Want U.N. Resolution Squelching Freedom of Speech, Sanctioning Denmark
In addition to threatening to blow themselves up in Denmark and actually murdering Christians in Iraq, the tiny minority of misunderstanders of the Prophet Muhammed's specific injunction to kill blasphemers is calling on the U.N. to condemn Denmark because a few newspapers chose to run cartoons poking fun at Islam.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, head of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, said in Cairo the OIC would "ask the UN General Assembly to pass a resolution banning attacks on religious beliefs." Ahmad Ben Helli, secretary general of the Arab League, confirmed contacts were under way for such a proposal to be made to the UN.The interesting question raised by all of this: is Islam inherently unable to support freedom of speech and have radical fascist Muslims found their greatest allies in the Western Left which is often game for passing 'hate speech' laws?

This was bound to happen. But they had better be careful, they might get what they wish for. This could easily be used against the Muslims, as they constantly attack the religious beliefs of people who belong to other faiths.
But, of course, the Muslims would be allowed to say and do what they want, and the rest of us would be silenced. In a pig's eye, I say.
I want to make this clear. For the sake of my children, and the sake of the free world, I will never, ever give in to these people, no matter what they say and do. Every man and woman who is committed to living in freedom should make the same committment. These Islamists must be stopped or the world will be returned to the Dark Ages.

Assuming the wording will be as broad as to impose sanctions "to protect religions", then every Islamic nation on the planet will be shooting itself in the foot.

The Funny thing is when a Muslim exercise the freedom of speech goes to jail example (I love what happened on sep 11), and when a Christian does Nooooooooooo it's a "freedom of speech".
And let me ask this. lets say a Muslim newspaper publish a cartoon of a Muslim shitting on a cross or a church. Would you consider that to be a "freedom of speech?!"

I don't expect that the UN, as moronic as they are, agreeing to this. Sanctions are too serious to be used just because someone's feelings were hurt. Instead I expect that behind the scenes, the UN will try to pressure Denmark into caving and bending over to end all the complaining. Hopefully Denmark will stand firm. For a religion that's supposed to be so great and all-powerful, Islam always seems to need some new regulation to hide behind. Almost as if confidence in its strength isn't as high as we're all expected to believe.

This is the strategy of fanatical muslims. They do it in the US with organizations such as CAIR. They go on the offensive and claim they're being treated with "intolerance" and "suspicion". DUH. The world cannot tolerate their fanaticism but everyone is so far back on their heels, they're afraid to call radical islam what it is. The fear of being branded as intolerant or racist or somehow "against" diversity keeps everyone quiet.. even our OWN PRESIDENT. Bush is STILL not ready to publicly conceded that the world has a major problem.. in the form of radical islam.

What the hell are you talking to? Incitement to join terror organizations has always been considered illegal in the U.S. (For instance, the famous KKK hearings of the late 19th Cent). And, to my knowledge, no person has ever been jailed for religious blasphemy in the U.S. EVER.
Calling someone a jerk or worse for being a religous bigot is one thing, putting them in jail or fining them is far different

Yes, blackmummy, if you knew anything about the West you wouldn't make such a statement. Jesus was depicted in one art piece a few years ago covered with urine, and yes, I was angry but I did not call for international sanctions or violence.
If your religion is good and you are confident in your beliefs, then you should not be worried about what other people say. And violence should never be an option.

blackmummy, then you should know that there is nothing you can do to keep people here in the states from making fun of your religion.
And it is bad, not wrong, to make fun of someone's religion. I don't think you should do it, but if you have a commitment to freedom, then you must allow it. You don't have to like it, and you can criticize it, but you cannot stop it.

And, for the record, people make fun of my religion ALL THE TIME. I've been offended over it, but I've never threatened legal action, a boycott, or threats of violence.
Being able to say negative things about religion without a resort to violence is one of the things that seperates civilized people from the backwards tribalism of Islam.

They don't just make fun of our religion, they actually blow up our houses of worship.

10 years in the states didn't do much for blackmummy's command of the english language, nor his understanding of the law. That's because as a Muslim he never ventured beyond the narrow constructs of his religion and its demand that he not fraternize with the infidel.
