That's the William Wallace memorial near Stirling Castle in Scotland. (Pic from here.) Say it with me: "You can take our lives...but you will never take...our Freedom!"

If they build this monument to appeasment, it will come down faster than they can build it.

One more example in a very long list of how the ACLU is working to destroy American ideals.

What does the crescent look like from the ground. Does it look as paranoic islamic as the comcast cable logo?or the christian coaliton one? or the SC flag?

actus: Did Muslim fanatics attack Comcast employees? Or put a fatwa on them? The Comcast logo is obviously a "C". There's no star. Did SC create their flag anew to show Muslim fanatics they were good dhimmis? Did the Christian coalition create their symbol to show solidarity with Muslims?
The fact that that site is there BECAUSE of Islamofascists is a good reason NOT to duplicate their symbol there. Or are you really that dense? If some lunatic Christian caused a plane crash in Iran and someone memorialized it with a big cross, would that be cool?

And furthermore. Don't you think these Islamogoons will be happy as all get out when they see it? They'll take it as a win.

We shouldn't surrender our aesthetic sense to the terrorists.
"And furthermore. Don't you think these Islamogoons will be happy as all get out when they see it? "
I doubt it. They'll find some silly thing wrong with it. It seems to be in vogue these days among the nutcases of the world.

Our "aesthetic" sense? As if there isn't another "aesthetic" form on the planet to choose from. Does the word "obtuse" come to mind? No. Of course not.

Sure there is. Should we let islamofascim dictate what we (or rather, the victims families) can and cannot choose?

Whatever happened to common sense? I can't believe there would be any Americans arguing FOR this design.

"Should we let islamofascim dictate what we (or rather, the victims families) can and cannot choose?"
Of course not. But at the same time, you don't choose to make a memorial their symbol. That's just disrespectful to those brave souls on Flight 93 that brought that plane down to save more lives.
I like the tower idea with the biggest freaking AMERICAN flag we can find.

If anyone ever doubts me when I say all liberals need to be hanged, actus will remove all doubts. This kind of deliberate stupidity is killing America.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to design a Holocaust memorial in the shape of a swastika, which is in reality a historical sun symbol, symbolizing renewal, power, and life, which I think is a fitting tribute to the human spirit. Besides, we shouldn't surrender our aesthetic sense to the Nazis.

You do know that the selection committee involved their families right? But we know better about respecting the dead in the war on terror.

The families objected to the crescent - and were ignored.
Good to see that William Wallace memorial - he certainly had some.

What is the source for the top image? The reason I ask is that it looks even more like a crescent and star than the previous images I'd seen, which were flat views from straight above and had the information building (the star) in the center of the crescent.
Just wondering where this new image came from...

I love how rectus just totally didn't respond to my post. Maybe he thinks a swastika would make a fitting holocaust memorial? I've heard that Mein Kampf is a big seller among leftards and islamotards these days, so I'm not surprised.

Bob--I didn't know where to find the regular one, so I went to the memorial site and found that picture in one of the 'crescent of embrace' .pdf's. I converted it to Microsoft Picture Manager and cropped the crescent.
So there's probably a good reason you haven't seen it like that before.

I would leave it up to the survivors.
