MAD & Iran

Would the Mutual Assured Destruction strategery work against Iran if that country is run by a madman? Scary thought. Wunderkraut has more.

1 Absolutely not. Shia dogma would welcome the Apocalypse as the sign of the coming of the 'hidden' imam.

2 Perhaps they need a sample or two. Say, a couple of cities of over one million people vaporized.

3 well the Pakis and the North Koreans also have bombs. Are the things that we say now about the Iranians any worse then what we were saying about Mao when he acquired the bomb. The best way to influence Iran is to turn their greatest strength (oil) against them. Stop ALL oil exports. Of course gas would hit 4 dollars for a time. We are addicted to their oil, but they are addicted to money. Any type of pressure that we put on Iran will also be seen as an attack on the 50% of Iraqi's who are Shia.
