Kerry Susses His Problem

by Demosophist
According to John Kerry his problem in the 2004 election was a combination of bad media coverage from conservative sources, and the Bin Laden tape that "scared Americans," before he had a chance to unscare them. So, I guess he missed the whole 9/11 "let's roll" message, huh? Here we are sitting calmly and passively in our seats waiting for the "authorities" to work their protective magic, and the terrorists got us flustered. Damn the luck! He has a point about the media too. I mean, if liberal media had a total monopoly it would've been like a crew race where only one team gets a boat, and he could probably have managed to win a race like that. I wonder if his secret plan for Iraq and Al Qaeda employed a similar strategy? Come to think of it, isn't he essentially saying that Al Qaeda beat him?

Yes John, there may indeed be something right there under your finger.

1 I don't know, the endorsement from OBL probably lost him a good amount of votes, but ole cammel-player's treat against specific states probably made a lot of weak willed moderates and liberal third party folks vote for Kerry.

2 "before he had a chance to unscare them" The thought of kerry unscaring anyone is laughable at best. The only poeple he could unscare would be the terrorists themselves.

3 Though I'm not a fan of GBW as a President 'cause of his Lack of knowledge of most of the things happening around, At least after the elections it's was not a surprise that he won.Kerry was goin on saying that he was the real Army guy which I would like to ask a question about. Does army leaders give in so easily(surrender) or go down figting.Well the night on the election didn't show Kerry go down fighting but surrendering quite cheaply which does not show any qualities of at least a commander in Chief. Frankly speaking he doesn't deserve a chance ( at least from an Indian perspective[purely economics]). BUT surely the VIDEO timing of OBL is quite debatable. We all were expecting "something" and Lo didn't it come? At least for our debate group we were right among ourselves. But whether that video might have made an impact is a question not even to be looked into.

4 I just wanna see Kerry investigated for shooting an unarmed soldier in Nam. He got a Silver Star for that one. All our Marine got, was trouble.

5 During the Debate Kerry made a statement that I can not believe I am the only one that caught it. He said, " Our troops lack what they need to fight the war, some parents are sending their kids supplies for their birthday..." Now what moron does he take us for. If a parent IS going to send supplies that they know their kids NEED they won't wait for a birthday.... I bout pissed myself when he made that petty comment.

6 Bin Laden right! Are you nuts lady. Go over there, tell bin Laden's boys your a democrat and want to be their friend. Make sure you leave a self addressed box to send you head back in. If Gore had been elected there wouldn't be a building over 40 stories left in the country. You lost quit crying.

7 Caroline: And if any of you were actually listening to the OBL tape you would realize that he is right, and that Republicans are very detrimental to the relationship between the US and the Arab world. He's right that under our republican prez, more Arabs have been incited to join the Arab cause. He's about 25 years too late to popularize an "Arab cause." That was, in fact, Saddam's thing. (See Robert Kaplan's The Arabists). He's basically promoting a Qtubist cause, or a Salafist cause. This is really like a version of postmodernism mixed with fundamentalist Islam. And if he were even remotely close to being "right" he wouldn't have been reduced to sending ineffectual missives via video. He'd have killed a city or two. So basically Bin Laden is an abject failure who is still too much for John Kerry to handle. I think I agree with Andrea about the gift thing. If you felt your son or daughter were really missing a vital piece of equipment that could save their life I doubt that you'd be putting off purchases until the holidays. That new refrigerator or roof could just wait awhile. You do what it takes NOW to get your child home.
