Islamic Army in Iraq Threatens US Attack

Parousing Internet Hagganah today to see what I had missed I found this message from the Islamic Army in Iraq, first published at an Islamist BB in French. Freeper Penguino's original translation can be found here:

"The year 2005 will be one of misfortune for America," affirms this group in an official statement sent on-line from an Islamic site published Monday, whose authenticity couldn't be immediately verified.

"The next days of this new year will see the biggest surprises that the Mujahideen have prepared for your children outside and inside America," he writes, adding that the fighters "will carry the battle from inside our country (Iraq) to inside yours."

"We address you after your New Year's celebration hoping that you have sobered up...We are going to make you American civilians taste that which our civilians endure," continues the group in "a message to the American people," who behave "uncivilized" and "very ignorantly."

"The entire world hates America and hates the American people... Did you know that the number of them who support the idea of attacks against America on her own soil has increased enormously this year?," also says the group.

"Last year was a walk in the park for your soldiers in Iraq. The year 2005 will see a quantitative and qualitative change in the operations against your soldiers, who will enter the annuals of history," he adds.

1 They have been coming in from Mexico for at least the last two years. A few have been caught; but who knows hao many got in? I still think it is an empty threat. Like us telling Syria to stop sending fighters into Iraq.

2 Empty threat for sure. There are no real plans. There may be some trouble though. There are most assuredly some people in this country that are capable, and prepared to carry out some act of terrorism. We must be vigilante, and aware of our surroundings. This war of terror although not recently fought here on our soil could be here at any time. We must continue to be wary, and cautious. Chris

3 This seems to be a good strategy for these guys. They attack our major weakness- the weak willed American who believes that nothing is worth fighting for and is looking for any reason to throw in the towel. Without the liberal media, these guys would have given up hope long ago.

5 "The year 2005 will be one of misfortune for America," isn't that what they said last year? I guess they thought Kerry was going to win then, and are just ticked about the confirmation kerfuffle we can expect to continue in congress this year. this new year will see the biggest surprises that the Mujahideen have prepared for your children excellent. they are finally ready to give over to democracy. good for them, and that would be the "biggest surprise". after your New Year's celebration hoping that you have sobered up really, that "tsunami Christmas present from Allah" meme is quite tiresome. I mean, what kind of deity delivers the package to the wrong address, then signs it in a way only the infidels' satellites could see? and what was with Jeanne, Ivan, Frances and Charley showing up in the summer? was it a divine response to all that vacation partying? The entire world hates America and hates the American people apparantly they are unaware of what the world thinks of the French. or the Germans. or the _____ (fill in the blank - if you haven't noticed, that's how it works). The year 2005 will see a quantitative and qualitative change in the operations against your soldiers must be reaffirming point number one. again, I'm glad they're going to lay down their guns and take up their liberty. good for them.

6 parousing, to parouse, vt, a portmanteau word combining "peruse," "carouse," and "parousia," meaning to scan boisterously for signs of the Second Coming. Is that a culturally sensitive way to read a Jewish publication?
