In the Presence of Moonbats

In his inaugural post, Sig94, retired cop (Signal 94 means "end of shift") relates his experiences sitting high in the Moonbat Gallery during Ann Coulter's recent appearance at Syracuse University:

My favorite Q&A response was the person who complained that because George Bush cut student loan allocations by $12 billion that “my interest rates for loans will rise to 6.8%. What is your response to this?!?!”

Ms. Coulter’s reply: “That’s because there are far too many of you who really don’t belong in college.”

Up until then I had remained silent. Now I laughed my ass off. I made sure it was a deep, sustained, bellowing guffaw. The moonbats all around me didnÂ’t say a word. And because they are moonbats they didn't understand the implied concept of supply and demand. Priceless, simply priceless.

I had the pleasure of dining with Sig94 yesterday, arranged by Cookie from The Cookshack - Gab & Grub. Go read the rest.

2 Unfortunately, Sig94 does not allow non-Blogger comments nor has he posted any way to contact him via email so I guess I'm left to comment here about it. There's a lot to say about his post (and believe me, I got great pleasure in reading it) and not enough room to say it here, but I will comment on one aspect he brought up that I've always found intriguing about leftist protesters in general. Aside from the fact that they so often seem disheveled and appear to have not bathed recently while displaying a very limited vocabulary, I've always been curious why, when engaging in a protest in which they expect to be taken seriously, they so often wear some of the most outrageous "outfits" imaginable. I mean really, what point is one trying to make by going out on the street with a poorly worded and misspelled sign while wearing a tutu, a bare chest sporting a grease-penciled peace sign and an Arafat style keffiyeh? Call me old-fashioned, but I can't take these people seriously. When speaking about the front row occupants of the theatre, this line got me laughing out loud: "One guy still had the remains of a wide receiver hanging out of the side of his mouth." Thanx, Bluto. That one was a real gem.

3 The fact that a conservative public speaker even needs bodyguards shows to what extent the American Left resembles the Brownshirts of the Weimar Republic. Even their clownish attire might be considered a uniform of sorts.

4 Sig94 has just started his blog, so I'll ask him about the anonymous comments issue.

5 Nevertheless, I blog-rolled him. I'll be going back anyway.

6 Oyster To them - because life is art - and art is a performance - and "performance art" is a very successful way to get peoples attention and present your point. Its not of course - it actually backfires bigtime and is key to their failures - but they will never acknowledge this - or even accept it as a "joke" - which is perfectly fine with me! Many libs and the MSM do however know this - and are often embarrassed by it. Note - when the MSM covers them, they use tight narrow shots and controlled handpicked interviews to attempt to conceal this embarrassing stupidity. Oh - how does allleged cuts in allocations affect interest rates in this case? The kid confused me - which is not surprising.

9 Hey I have an even better idea than what Bush did. Stop stealing my money and giving it to moonbats so they can go to college. I'm a hardworking young man putting myself through school, and I seriously resent that part of the 15% or so that comes out of my check every 2 weeks is going to put people I absolutely despise through school. What ever happened to freedom of association? Or does my money no longer count for that?
