It's good to be forgiving, and it does seem that the Nigerians tend to treat their hostages better than the Iraqis. At least most of their hostages survive. And these tribal people do seem to have a legitimate beef about all the wealth being controlled by their governments and foreign interests.
That said, kidnapping people and holding them against their will IS WRONG. Regardless of the motivation.

And oh yeah, while these Nigerian terrorists may sometimes (but not always) be humane to their hostages, lets not forget that they often kill people while taking those same hostages.

It seems that some of the hostage takers in Iraq treat their hostages mildly kindly. But it seems irrelevant to the larger point that its a barbaric practice. Just want to make that clear in case any one misunderstands what you are saying Dave.

So are these hostage takers muslims or christians ? I haven't seen anything in any of the news stories about what religion they practice. This did take place in the southern delta area, but I do not wish to prejudge them simply by the area where they live.

Nice warm & fuzzy headline - doesn't really say anything about the actions or issues at hand - but, that wasn't its purpose, now was it?
Hope those Nigerian rebels don't start thinking the West, the MSM and the world really care about them and their cause. Last time those people in the south marshes stood up in mass against Logos - they were slaughtered, butchered and starved by the millions - and the whole world watched. Believe they called themselves Biafrians back then.
I can see CNN in the role of the Carver Media Group (Tomorrow Never Dies). Get them rebels all fired up - give them hope - then get tons of film footage of hundreds of thousands starving black children - think of the ratings!

Thanks for clarifying what I actually meant, Rusty. I was trying to point out that some media appear to be excusing the actions of these Nigerian terrorists because they percieve them to be more sypathetic than their middle-eastern counterparts. I just worded it very awkwardly.
