Guantanamo Detainee May Run For UK Office

Actors Corin and Vanessa Redgrave want a British detainee at Guantanamo Bay to stand for a Parliamentary seat.h/t Robert Spencer
Moazzam Begg, 36, from Birmingham, was arrested in Pakistan and has been held as a terror suspect at the US military base in Cuba since January 2002.The Redgraves want Mr Begg to stand for their Peace and Progress Party

Pakistan wanted theirs back, too, so we released them.I'm sure Rusty remembers what happened after one of these guys got back to Pakistan. He kidnapped and held hostage 2 Chinese workers and the place was guarded tightly and I knew that the General wasn't going to allow it to coninue. After 5 days (?) he sent his troops in. Unfortunately one of the Chinese workers was killed and the other they brought out alive.
So I wonder why Britain wants those terrorists back? Unless what happens to them is they go right to jail instead of just being let free.

I wouldnÂ’t worry too much. The Redgraves are famously loopy, Troskyists. TheyÂ’ll get maybe 200 votes out of 30,000 or so in that constituency. ItÂ’s a publicity thing only.
