Google: The Moonbat Search Engine

A headline popped up from my news reader that I could barely believe. It was so intriguing that I had to open it up and see what it had to say.

Searching for failure? Try George W. Bush (The Register)

That's right! When you search for the word failure President Bush's biography is the first page that is listed in the Google search engine result page. Not only that Michael Moore's web site is listed number two for the search term, "failure".

I've been studying the Google algorithm for six years now and one thing I know for certain is that for a page to be displayed for a search term on Google it has to have the word(s) you're searching for on the page.

President Bush's biography mentions the word failure exactly zero times. That alone makes you think twice about the algorithm effect on that page. However, Michael Moore's site being second is quite interesting because Michael Moore's home page mentions the word failure zero times as well.

Needless to say this result isn't the work of Google computers; it's the deliberate act of employees at Google (that appear to have a need to push their ideologies on others).

It's bad enough that Google News is run by a pack of liberal wolves but now it would appear that those same wolves are manipulating Google's search engine as well.

1 I'll grant you that, but notice that we're the #1 hit for 'Jawa Porn'? Let the hits begin!!

2 Actually, Rusty, it doesn't quite work that way. The other day, out of curiosity, I read up on "Google Bombs". Apparently, the way Google works, the more often a certain word or phrase is mentioned in all websites that LINK to a given site, the higher the site linked TO goes on the google search. I suspect that's what has happened in the case of both Bush and Moore-on.

3 During the the 2004 campaign a Google search for waffles resulted in a #1 hit of John F Kerry's campaign website.

4 That's old. I heard about that a month ago. It's been around for years. I have no problems with liberals. My dad is a liberal. They can dislike Bush if they want too. I was surprised as well when I found out about this.

5 Brian B is correct it's the google bombs doing it, not google. Agree google news is run by a liberal pack of wolves, but there are other factors at work with page ranking. The moonbats are busily cooking the search results, been going on for some time.

6 I switched to Yahoo because of Google's moonbat proclivities.

7 Hmmm, It was named above. The Google Bomb. If enough people set up websites For example if enough people set up the following on their webpages: Stupid fat idiot then eventually the google engine will yield Moore's website as the #1 result for searches on "stupid fat idiot". It has nothing to do with Google's well known leftard politics and everything to do with their search & indexing algorithms.

8 I can't prove or disprove the Google bomb theory. However, the folks at Google are smart enough to negate that (if they weren't a bunch of hippies).

9 The above comments are convincing. One might conclude that "failure" and "Bush" are linked by an accidental over-fitting of Googles Data Mining algorithm. But then explain why "liar" and "Tony Blair's homepage" are so closely connected! It is about #4 after links to films "Liar Liar" and "Big FAT Liar" etc.... That ranks pretty high. Coincidence?

11 If anyone thinks for one minute that there isn't an over-ride function at Google for these kinds of anomolies they're not thinking. And there's no way anyone can prove that the search results are incorrect. How's THAT for a conspiracy? Like the "Waffle" thing for Kerry. I have to question that. One would think the term would have been "flip flop", not waffle. Type in flip flop now and see what you get. The third result is about Bush. Type in waffle now and see what you get. You don't get Kerry until the eighth page.

12 A google bomb is not that hard to setup. I did this for an organization I am a part of. I google bombed our competition Akbayan-FAANEW. After about a week I punched in Akbayan-FAANEW and Google brought up our site. Now with the election way done election oriented websites are being shut down and the President's supporters people are not agitating like they were before. Is the leftist community being quiet? I agree flip-flop would be the one we would immediately leap to, but at the time that Google bomb was setup flip-flop may not have yet been in wide use. Last time I checked "miserable failure" returned W's & Carter's websites (1 & 2). The folks at Google when asked about the Google bomb said basically, "yeah, so what?".

14 I remember that Google was accused from the liberals because it show too much right news sites, and they stated exactly the same fact. More links a page receive, more it is indexed, its ranks go up on the words used

15 google created the tag "nofollow" to put on blogs to combat google bombs: http://www.juiceenewsdaily.com/0505/news/google_bomb.html

16 Haha! Suck up that 39% approval rating. A 39&%... Hrm... Is that an A+? A? B? C? Nope! That's a great big, huge letter 'F' for 'Failure.' *waves at the conservative patriots, so honorably sinking with their own ship* Buh-bye.
