Former U.S. President Bill Clinton Calls For Conviction Of Mohammed Cartoon Publishers

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has called for European countries to convict the publishers of the Prophet Mohammed cartoons:

Daily Times—Former US president Bill Clinton on Friday condemned the publication of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) caricatures by European newspapers and urged countries concerned to convict the publishers.

Talking to reporters after meeting Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Islamabad, Clinton said he disagreed with the caricatures and that the publication was against religious and ethical norms. Clinton said he had no objection to peaceful demonstrations being held worldwide, but this was not the time for violence. He said it was the time to promote inter-faith harmony and stand together on the issue. ...

Who let Bill out?

Update:

I looked at a video here (realplayer) and I didn't hear Clinton calling for the conviction of the publishers. It wasn't a complete recording of the press conference, but still, he isn't heard calling for the conviction of publishers.

Looks like the Daily Times may have really screwed up the translation after all. If so, my apologies to Jawa Report readers and former President Clinton.

1 OK the land and law of the Left, exactly how he wants to feel. Screw principle, screw Law, screw fundamental rights. This is all so very sick!

3 Thanks for supporting freedom of speech Bill! Maybe it's a good thing you spend most of your time distracted by cigar-toting intern fatties.

5 Sorry guys, but President Clinton dod not say this. The paper took his words to mean something different than what he meant. Mark in Mexico has the details here: http://markinmexico.blogspot.com/2006/02/pakistan-reports-clinton-says-convict.html

6 Hey...maybe we'll get lucky and he'll move to Europe. He and Gore can have lives again instead of playing make believe.

8 JC Wait one on this. He was out during the Bill thing (kissing up/BS'n etc) - but no way he said whats reported by that paper (which WILL be picked up throughout the ME). He's a slick lawyer - remember. But he's been put on the spot inadvertently - has has to do some serious denying and dancing fast. Should be fun to watch.

9 I'm sure he said something to the same effect overseas.. then when he came back stateside, he can deny, deny, deny, and spin it to whatever he means.. and noone in the MSM will call him on it like they should.. aside from one or two softball questions and NO follow ups. Thank Allah for the internet.

10 Afer the remarks made by both Clinton and Gore - both in the heart of OPEC - does anyone still believe that the MSM/DNC is against drilling in Alaska because of "the environment"? The MSM/DNC has been on the side of the MuslimFascists for 40 years. It is why Cater stabed the Shah in the back and why he got Congress to put drilling in Alaska off limits. They fight against drilling offshore and in Alaska because they fight for OPEC.

12 Clinton might not have called for the conviction of the cartoonist, but he is still engaging in a bunch of pro-Muslim hand-wringing over the affair. In view of his blaming the Crusades for 9/11, I'd say that NO apology is necessary. It was 1000 years ago - get over it, Muzzies.

13 Clinton needs to be convicted for turning his back on the free press. I hope he does not convict me for posting the 12 Danish cartoons at http://www.obber.com. Not to mention a game I made using the "Prophet Bomb" cartoon as an introduction. Don't let free speech be controlled by terror, or Clinton.
