A judge has ordered best-selling writer and journalist Oriana Fallaci to stand trial in her native Italy on charges she defamed Islam in a recent book.
The decision angered Italy's justice minister but delighted Muslim activists, who accused Fallaci of inciting religious hatred in her 2004 work "La Forza della Ragione" (The Force of Reason).
Fallaci lives in New York and has regularly provoked the wrath of Muslims with her outspoken criticism of Islam following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on U.S. cities.
In "La Forza della Ragione," Fallaci wrote that terrorists had killed 6,000 people over the past 20 years in the name of the Koran and said the Islamic faith "sows hatred in the place of love and slavery in the place of freedom."
State prosecutors originally dismissed accusations of defamation from an Italian Muslim organization, and said Fallaci should not stand trial because she was merely exercising her right to freedom of speech.
But a preliminary judge in the northern Italian city of Bergamo, Armando Grasso, rejected the prosecutors advice at a hearing on Tuesday and said Fallaci should be indicted.
Grasso's ruling homed in on 18 sentences in the book, saying some of Fallaci's words were "without doubt offensive to Islam and to those who practice that religious faith."

if thats true, Finn, than you tell me why the hell the so called"moderate" Muslims of the world refuse to step up to the plate and either go after the "tiny minority" of evil Muslims and elimanate them, or stand up as one and publicy denounce the Islamicnazis...they havent as of yet said a friggin peep....not a sound...NADDA!!!....sure they denounce the American and coalition troops when they kill an armed terrorist or the Israelies when they kill a Palistinian terrorist who was about to detonate a bomb or launch an attack of some sort....but denounce the same terrorists who have said themselves that they will kill fellow Mulims in the name of Jihad....some friends, huh???...with friends like that who needs enemys...untill the "moderate" Muslims stand up and denounce the others, they ALL deserve what happens to them....guilty by assocation i say...Too Bad, So Sad

And they're using the Italian courts to further that agenda. How pathetic. And the Italians are letting them! This kind of appeasement will be the death of all of us. Are they going to sue Dan Brown for the Davinci Code? What's that? No? Of course not. The Catholics are certainly offended though. And there's a lot more of them in Italy than Muslims.

The Muslim majority is what we in Finland call "hiljainen enemmistö", people who don't think they can influence anything and don't want to go through trouble for nothing. They need to be shown a path to get power, or else they will just continue shutting up about everything and avoiding problems and issues as much as they can.

A reader from Italy sent me the judge's contact info. How about helping to make sure that the judge hears from the world that supporting Islam against free speech, and being a dhimmi, is something that the world will not let him live down - he's going to be famous for being a Muslim supporting dhimmi and being anti-free speech. He needs thousands of emails.
