Every Little Bit Helps
A few rumblings amongst bloggers and commenters have called the vastly Conservative led
Porkbusters project an attempt in futility for a myriad of reasons one being that cutting the pork simply won't be enough.
I'm just curious though, since cutting the pork out of federal and state budgets isn't going to be enough to cover all the Katrina (and impending Rita) repair and rebuild costs then what good is it to donate to The Salvation Army? Seriously, what good is my measly donation going to do then? I personally can't bankroll The Salvation Army's entire relief effort so why should I donate?
I'll tell you why; every little bit helps. Getting the pork out of our budgets might not cover the costs to repair all the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, but every little bit helps.

Cutting the pork is only one way to go about this. The other is to tell all those complaining about the tax cut, starting with Clinton, that there is an easy solution, mail in their tax cut back to the government.
President Clinton: Put your Tax Refund where your Mouth is!
As for trying to cut pork, maybe a little will get cut and perhaps people will really page over the 2007 budget before it gets passed, but if there is no pressure then the pork will only increase.
I think the blogosphere needs to also push for a line-item veto for the President when it comes to budgets. Congressmen just don't have the self discipline.

Chris You bet right on I put in my paltry 43 bucks. But lets say every American put in 5 bucks that would be 15 for my household. let's see 300 million times 5 1.5 bil. That buys a lot of stuff.
