Eugene Armstrong Beheading Video Pulled from College Art Show
Scroll down to the end of the story. You can show a guy jacking off--that's art--but you can't show the Islamofascists doing what they do best. Oh, and notice that the artists are 'almost as inhuman as' the terrorists who beheaded Armstrong. Right. Cutting a hostages head off and showing images or video in a concerted efforted to show the terrorists for what they really are is pretty much the same thing. Outrage from the Michigan family of beheaded hostage Eugene ''Jack'' Armstrong prompted Watkins College of Art & Design to pull a controversial video installation Friday from the Nashville exhibit in which it won first prize.''We're so angry right now that we're about ready to jump in a car and come down there,'' said Cyndi Armstrong, the slain engineer's cousin by marriage, from her office in Hillsdale, Mich....
The school's decision to pull the work came against the wishes of Watkins students Elvan Penny and Scott Phelps, whose ''Fearful Symmetry'' features a 40-minute video with audio that includes footage of Armstrong's beheading in Iraq late last month. Juxtaposed with images of American popular culture, including TV commercials, the footage is intended to jolt the viewer out of complacency and toward a greater awareness of violence in the world....
''We don't want to pull the video. We stand behind the work. But if the college pulls it, we're not going to fight their decision.''...
Armstrong charged that Penny and Phelps are ''almost as inhuman as those people who did what they did to Jack.'' [nice comparison, and I guess Steven Spielburg is 'almost as inhuman as' the Nazis he portrays in Schindler's List]
The rest of the Watkins show is scheduled to reopen Monday. The other controversial work, Penny's photograph of a man masturbating, was originally to be draped in the main gallery, with a warning sign posted. The latest word is that it will not be draped. Instead it will be placed away from the show in an administrative area that's off limits to the public. Visitors will have to ask to see it. [story conitnues... ]

I totally agree with you dawn. That video was disgusting and it turned my stomach. SPAWN is an ***hole! That man did absolutely nothing wrong. He was just there at the wrong time, doing his job to feed his family. There are many heartless people in this world, and it's pretty clear to me that SPAWN is one of them.

If you notice on the video that the scumbags of Iraq did not use a sword. Mr. Armstrong's death was neither swift or instant. Anyone who thinks of this as art "is" as sick as the people who committed this horrific crime. Anyone can turn on the news at any time and see the violence that goes on right in our own cities, we did not need to see this man being beheaded. Once the shock of death no longer has an impact on the human psyche, it will be the end of humanity. Anything, such as beheading and if there is anything worse, (I am sure these sicko's can think of worse), will become the norm. For people to think this somehow belongs in an art show is a crime in itself. God Bless us all.
PS... All this open-mindedness, freedom of speech, and rights groups for this and for that will be our demise. Morals and ethics no longer have a place in most people's everyday practices. Yes, we all know about masturbation and some may even practice it, but it seems there are no secrets . Everything is out in the open, and that is not where it belongs. This anything goes attitude is wrong.

Let's get our people out of that hell-hole and let them do what they have done for centuries. Just because they what to slay one another is no reason for us to be over there losing American soldiers and in this case, civilians. They have fought since the beginning of time and what makes us think we can stop it? Eugene Armstrong died a horrific and unnecessary death. We need to bring our people home and let them alone. We can find oil somewhere else!

I guess through this, it is my way of reaching out, Or mabe just trying to heal. I wish I wouldn't have watched it and honestly, I don't really know why I did. I would be ashamed to think it was just a morbid curiosity but mabe it was in all truthfulness. I guess I would just like to take this time and this little space to say that I am not a murderer like the ones I just saw, but I do fall way short of what I should be. I guess we all do. I guess that is why Jesus did what He did for us. I am not some bible thumpin' preacher, but I do love our Lord. He has given us all a mind, to make our own choices. If He took that away from those terrorists, He would have to take it from us all. I just pray for Mr. Armstrongs family. I can't even LET my mind imagine what seeing that would be like had it been my father or brother. May he rest peaceful in the loving arms of our Lord. And I pray for ALL of the people who will have to go through that in the future, and ALL people who are scared or sad or sick or dying. These are horrific crimes, and they are being committed all the time. I think while we are all feeling patriotic, we should pressure our government and our president to do something about crimes against children. One strike and you're out should be the way that goes, even though it is just my opinion. And it should be the same in ALL states. I don't know if anyone will ever even read this, but I do feel a little better. I pray God helps my heart, and I can be mre like He would want me to be. The human spirit, well we saw how ugly it can be. It can also be so beautiful. So on saying that, if anyone does read this, from my spirit to yours, God Bless you and keep you. Anyone who says that injuries resulting from a missle attack are the same as holding a man down and cutting his head off with a butcher knife ought to be forced to choose between the two. Suffering is a by-product of a missle attack, it is not the goal of the missle attack. In the case of sawing off someone's head, however, causing suffering is the goal. I doubt anyone can think of a death more horrible than that. Enough talking. Let's get our people out of there. And from now on, let's do whatever job needs to be done over there with bombs.

I saw the Armstrong beheading video 2 days ago and it has been haunting me ever since,...especially the audio. I now wish that President Bush would turn the entire region into a lake bed of glass. Only a sub-human could do this to another human. These people have no value to life, as we do, they would just as quick saw a head off as you or I would eat a double cheeseburger. My son has recently informed me he wants to be a Marine. I showed him the video in hopes of changing his mind. Unfortunately it worked the opposite, he scored 85% on the pre-entry test last week. At least he won't go for his AIT until he is 19 due to his MOS as a Marine MP. One thing I know for sure: No media could ever describe with words alone how insanely gruesome that video actually is. If they showed that on 60 minutes I believe peoples minds about our being in Iraq would change. We would want all of them dead,... even the innocent,... just wipe out the region,... they should have done it on the one year anniversary of 9-11 (to the exact minute the first plane hit it's target). I still think it will come to that anyway because these people are willing to sacrifice their life for their grotesque cause. The only way to beat them and be secure here at home is to nuke the hell out of them where they live and breath as well as any nation that helps them. Sooner or later a weapon of mass destruction will be brought into our country possibly via an unprotected border. When it is used in a major city and thousands more of us our killed what will we do then??? Probably the same thing we did after 9-11,...a bunch of chickens running around with our heads cut off, (no pun intended), pointing the finger at everyone, wondering how such a think could happen... No,... I say level the region. WIPE EM ALL OUT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!

I am must admit that the comment of wiping out the whole region is insane! Not all Iraqis are the same... they are not all like those demented ones in that video. Are you telling me that you would kill them all? That YOU could look at a 4 year old child and kill them because of their birth? If that is the case then you are no better than Hitler in my book and I hope that you realize that what your son is doing is incredibly brave and you should spend the time that you took trying to talk him out of being in the service and spend it changing your views! I believe that I speak for most people serving in the military when I say that WE signed the papers to join and understand what the consequences might be. I am proud to serve my country and my efforts to bring justice to these poor people. SAVING THE LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE IS OUR JOB. Not "wiping them out."
