Easter Bunny Brings Blogger Unemployment

Nashville Blogger Bill Hobs has resigned or lost his job at Belmont University over blogging.

Glenn Reynolds via Instapundit : BILL HOBBS HAS LOST HIS JOB FOR BLOGGING: The Knoxville News-Sentinel's Michael Silence calls it "sickening" and "pathetic." He's right
Just a bit more of that good old liberal "tolerance" .

Updated : Glenn Reynolds is on the case with this update: Glen makes a good point too

one crucial difference between bloggers and journalists: Get a columnist or reporter fired, and you might actually silence him/her. Get bloggers fired from their day jobs, and you've given them more time -- and more reason -- to go after you and yours

1 Well, I guess I'll cancel registration for classes at Belmont University along with classes I canceled at Northern Kentucky University.

2 A good liberal is a dead liberal.

3 But...but...what about freedom of speech and expression? Oh, I see, if freedom of speech or expression happens to offend a Muslim, them it must be suppressed. And besides, Dick Cheney shot a man!

4 Hey that's my line! Oh well, I should have used it if I was going to. Happy Easter everyone, I'm going to celebrate in my own special way; I'm going to the range.

5 One point to consider--if Hobb had had tenure, this couldn't have happened. It was because he was a contract employee that the cowardly admin could pressure him to resign. And once again, our little genocidal friend, who has called for the extermination of all Muslims everywhere, an armed rebellion against our government of criminals, a boycott of all elections, has now claimed that the country would be better off if all the liberals were dead. Including the ones protecting this country as members of the military? Why am I the only one challenging these assertions? Is IM a well known crank or simply a violent genocidist you all have learned to appreciate and tolerate?

6 I myself have had words with IM and tried to point out the error of he/she/it's Islamic ways! Though I tend to agree with much of what IM utters!

8 Give us your address and your pizza will be on it's way! Hope you want fries with that!

9 Well, let's take the post on this thread--do you think a good liberal is a dead liberal? You don't have any friends who are liberals? I've got several conservative friends, and even some family that are conservative. I don't think they are ruining this country, I don't think we'd be better off with them dead, I just disagree with them on a number of issues (although I agree with them on several as well). The country needs liberals, conservatives, and moderates, as well as radicals on both ends, for a full debate. Truth seldom resides with one group for very long, or entirely on any one question. IM's rhetoric, on Muslims, on liberals, is always exterminating, extreme, violent--and yet largely lacking in humor. If he were joking, then fine. But he seems pretty serious about overthrowing the oppressive federal government. Next time a federal building blows up and incinerates 158 innocent people, I've got a suspect.

10 No jd, I don't have any liberal friends, as I only befriend people who are decent, hard-working, intelligent, patriotic, and fun to be around. As far as my rhetoric; yes, I want to kill all muslims and liberals, because their only goal is to destroy civilization. Likewise for the government; it is only making things worse, not better. If you can't see that, then you're an idiot. You won't last long when the fighting starts, which shouldn't be long, because you don't have the intelligence to see reality, or the balls to do anything about it; you're just a typical neutered male who is useless to society except as a harmless drone who works and pays taxes, and just wants everyone to get along. Don't waste your time responding to this comment, because I won't waste my time reading your response, as you have nothing to contribute to the survival of civilization.

11 Must be a small lonely world IM lives in. Hitler was lonely and frustrated too.

12 OK, the first few posts were like Tim McVeigh, but this one has elements of Ted Kazinski...Of course, on the internet, anyone can be anything. Most likely, he's a frustrated downtrodden guy who has gotten the short end of the stick in life, so projects this tough guy image online. As for not having liberal friends, let's up the ante--do you have any friends at all? Note: imaginary ones do not count...

13 I'll be his friend if he promises not to shoot me or hang me.
