The author of a new state law that allows felony charges against owners of dangerous dogs was hospitalized over the weekend after his own dog attacked him... ...Schwartz was instrumental in getting a law passed during this year's regular legislative session that would allow felony charges to be filed against owners of dogs deemed dangerous or potentially dangerous and that seriously injure or kill another animal or person
IÂ’m torn. Yes dog owners should be held accountable but a felony? IÂ’m not so sure that in all cases thatÂ’s appropriate, I mean are there not laws already thay would apply? Makes me wonder about how he treated his dogs. Large breed dogs with spirit are not toys or pets. You have to be his very best friend and he must believe you would never hurt him. At the same time you have to be the boss not too soft as they will test you daily. If you donÂ’t have the time to spend on these animals, get a basset hound, that way you can at least out run the damn thing. Also it will be fun to see if the law maker is keen on being subject to his own law. IÂ’m sure I know what breed the law is directed at, but I love a good bulldog had one myself great animal and a good friend.
