Do-it Yourself Fatwah Festival

Have an interesting link? Want me to issue a fatwa against you? Send a trackback here. Ok, so it's not an Instalanche, but it might get you a little notice. Plus, remember that part of the secret of Goolge hits is to have incoming links. A trackback sent here shows up as a link to you. Win-win.

Plus, I just don't have time to link any one today. So check out the fatwas below.

4 How about Morgan Spurlock's conclusion already scripted for his '30 days' as a Muslim : http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2005/06/morgan_spurlock.html http://www.opinionjournal.com/taste/?id=110006868 Conclusion: "No, the producers told me. "Morgan wants the show to demonstrate to America that we are Islamophobic and that 9/11's biggest victims are Muslims." Also check out the caliber of the people associated with instruction of 'Islam' in the show.

5 Dave: I read Debbie Schlussel's post and had to comment myself. Thanks to the Internet, this kind of propaganda can be countered somewhat before it hits the general public. It's really shameful what they call a "documentary" anymore. Michael Moore's entire staff is in on this one. And CAIR? Sheesh. Greg ought to lap this one up with a big spoon.

8 Oyster, I was pretty disappointed to read that they're scripted to reach the conclusion of the point he wants to make. After watching the 'life on minimum wage' show I thought it was well presented and hit home. However it brings into question now, how much was scripted for the agenda ? were the emergency room visits scripted to show an agenda? etc. Now he's saying the real victims in 9/11 were the Muslims? outrageous - I am sure he will not say that on the show however, that will be just the conclusion he wants you to reach.

9 Rumsfeld pointed out, on Fox News, that "insurgencies tend to go on five, six, eight, 10, 12 years." Which is it Rummy? 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 or more years? Can the Iraqis fight their own damn war or must we stay another 12 plus years?

10 US acknowledges torture at Guantanamo; in Iraq, Afghanistan - UN 06.24.2005, 11:37 AM ‘GENEVA (AFX) - Washington has, for the first time, acknowledged to the United Nations that prisoners have been tortured at US detention centres in Guantanamo Bay, as well as Afghanistan and Iraq, a UN source said. The acknowledgement was made in a report submitted to the UN Committee against Torture, said a member of the ten-person panel, speaking on on condition of anonymity. 'They are no longer trying to duck this and have respected their obligation to inform the UN,' the Committee member said. 'They they will have to explain themselves (to the Committee). Nothing should be kept in the dark,' he said. UN sources said this is the first time the world body has received such a frank statement on torture from US authorities.’ http://www.forbes.com/work/feeds/afx/2005/06/24/afx2110388.html OK, no more bullshitting. We have now acknowledged that we have tortured people in Guantanamo and in Afghanistan and in Iraq.

11 Nice tee-shirt banner add. If I see someone wearing that should I take it to understand the he or she would like to be tasered, dragged to my basement and beaten? Not tortured of course- just some light beatings that wont result in death- unless I get a little carried away. Would be happy to do so to any nitwit idiotic enough to wear one. Of course if they have taken the time to make sure it was color co-ordinated with thier WWJD braclet, I might let them walk on by.

13 Maxwell, young man, where do you get off talking like that - threatening people who wear T-shirts. You are an uncultured urban ruffian who needs to learn some manners.

15 Dave & Oyster...Morgan Spurlock has nothing on the scripted radio and TV "news" that our taxpayer dollars paid for, courtesy of our current administration. I guess FOX wasn't good enough for Bushie?

Posted by: osamabeenhiding at June 28, 2005 11:12 AM (huFN9)

16 osama, how is that again? I hear nothing on the news but futility in Iraq, Gitmo torture, Abu Gharab references, Downing street Memo etc.

Posted by: dave at June 28, 2005 03:05 PM (fsJ2z)

17 Dave...exactly. FOX news ain't cuttin' it for Bushie. That's why there has been govt. funded (by our tax dollars) to create what is essentially propaganda. Did you not hear about this? There were "newscasts" which weren't news promoting Bush's agenda where the speaker would sign off as "so and so reporting..." and they also paid off a big radio guy as well as a few others to promote Bush. It's no moon-bat claim either, Bush actually publicly disapproved what was going on later, but I think he had to rather than let it get blown up worse.
