You-know-who has been banned.

You mean the fellow who commits Durbin everyday?

I love my trolls -- because the Cavalry comes in and wipes them out.
But that's just me.

Are you talking about Bush Lies, the poet and disciple of the prophet Orwell? What a shame. He was very entertaining.

But... but how will I get my daily dose of Paul Levy, "spiritually-informed political activist"? I need a constant IV of poor quantum physics discussions twisted into the claim that Bush stole the 2004 election. Why, oh why did I not experience BUSH LIES until too late. It's always the good that die young.
Though in retrospect, he did not blame the Jews enough for my tastes. To hell with him.

Rusty, you have to stop doing this. Trolls are like salt and pepper to blogs. I enjoyed the BUSH LIES buffoonery. He made us look so damn smart!
Posted by: Carlos at June 28, 2005 10:15 AM (8e/V4)

Carlos: Fellow idiot, I think he went beyond this, though, posting book-length drivel by Jung and spouting out Carrolian gibberish. And those were his good points!

Some of you guys will probably never believe me when I say this, but I have never hung out at "leftard" blogs or posted on them...my question is, do they ban people too? BLSD was pretty damn funny, but I can see how his drunk postings could really piss some people off.

Rusty,
I think you should ban him for 2 weeks, clearly delineate the rules and then invite him back if he is agreeable to adhering to them.
Just a thought. He WAS highly entertaining.
Posted by: greg at June 28, 2005 10:38 AM (/+dAV)

Thank you, Rusty, thank you. May Filthy Allah sacrifice another goat for you tonight.
Osama. Yes they delete comments and ban people regularly. And I've see it happen even when the poster is respectful. But, it happens on both sides. Usually only the most partisan and most shrill sites, so those blogs are not really worth reading anyway.
Posted by: Oyster at June 28, 2005 10:39 AM (fl6E1)

osama,
it depends on the size of the blog. On bigger Lefty blogs a rightwinger moves under the raydar. But on smaller blogs the Lib totalitarian tendencies will get you banned faster than you can say politically correct fascists. They don't see it as a free speech issue, they see it as giving "hate" a platform, and they don't do that.

BL-SD was anything BUT entertaining. Copying and pasting monolithic essays half the time and complete gibberish the other half is incredibly annoying. At first it was funny. That wore off quickly.
Posted by: Oyster at June 28, 2005 10:43 AM (fl6E1)
14
Come on, admit it, the guy was a riot. I miss him already.
Posted by: greg at June 28, 2005 10:50 AM (/+dAV)
15
It was all the cutting and pasting that got annoying.
Posted by: Rusty Shackleford at June 28, 2005 10:50 AM (JQjhA)
16
Rusty,
I'm sure he would agree to cease and desist if he knew the rules.
Posted by: greg at June 28, 2005 10:58 AM (/+dAV)
17
Greg should be permanently banned this time, because he openly supports the terrorists. He thinks the gif of Bush as Nick Berg is funny. I hope he finds his neck under the knife, and the sooner the better. Being a good dhimmi won't save him. No quarter for enemies or their supporters.

Improbulus should be banned for his violent fantasies.

Oyster: "At first it was funny. That wore off quickly."
I'll top you one. I don't think it was EVER funny! I suspect Colon.
What about "Downing Street"???
Greg: "I'm sure he would agree to cease and desist if he knew the rules."
"Rules? In a knife fight?!" (from "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid")

Either way...I hope he comes back on only because I laughed so fucking hard when reading some of his posts.

I may not be able to offer up a goat however, I do have some left over Habbab Kabbabs in the fridge I would be happy to sacrifice to the honorable Rusty Sahib for ridding the site of the noseless son of a motherless he pimp, BUSH LIES.
Habbab Kabbabs are very tasty indeed. YOu can reaaaaly taste the Chutney!

I am glad he's banned. I was somewhat tolerant of his comments, until he spammed the help Emily thread with his venom. Then he went from inane babbling to pasting whole essays, how is that even entertaining?

Greg wants him back and is even lobbying for his return and Osama thinks he was "hilarious"? Okay guys. This says way too much about the level of your maturity.
YBP: When I say it was funny at first, I meant the first one or two posts because it confirmed a lot for me about the left wing nut cases.
Posted by: Oyster at June 28, 2005 02:15 PM (fl6E1)

Oyster: I understand.
I still think they were invited here...

Oyster...sure filtering through spammy posts is a drag, but his original posts were funny as hell. I'm sorry if you think I'm immature for saying that, but I find humor in almost anything. The nut never liked me, but he still made me laugh.

Okay, let's take a vote then. Who should Rusty ban, me or greg? Voting should be restricted to regular contributors only please. If I am chosen I will accept your decision gracefully.

neither. You both make me laugh.

Ok Rusty. Now he's over at my blog posting crap. Thanks alot.

Yep - he was crapping in my comments, too.
Emphasis on the "was" - I apparently have a low troll-threshold, and bannination hastily ensued.
[BTW, Rusty, the comments popup has an oddity or two; it doesn't like resizing (which, stupidly, is the MT default behaviour) and the text entry box is somewhat wider than the popup itself is - at least as I'm seeing it in Firefox and IE. Easy to tweak, if you want to. Drop me a line... I work cheap.]
[Actually,
free.]

I wouldn't ban Greg or IM either. I still want to send IM in a box as a care package to the Saudi Royal Family though...trigger ready, of course.
