Dead Man Walking: Richard Shelby
Shelby is toast. Gone. Sianora. It doesn't matter how unimportant whatever information it is that he leaked out. He is a Southern Republican. There is nobody--no one, nada, nichevo, zilcho--hated more by the coastal media establishment. Remember what happened the last time a Southern Republican complimented a demented old ex-segregationalist? I give him thirty days, tops.

As a Senator, I can only say that Shelby will be fine.
He is going to get slapped on the wrists by the Senate Ethics Committee.
He will handily win re-election in Alabama this November.
DOJ isn't investigating this anymore.
He may get a reputation like "Leaky Leahy" out of this, but he will remain in the senate.
