DC Update
Reports are CESNA aircraft violated DC secure airspace. If this is true, the plane would have been on target by now. It is not. Everything should be OK.

BTW, a woman and child were shot dead after their car sped towards a checkpoint in Iraq ignoring posted warning signs. I know that it could have been a possible threat but for crying out loud, is shooting the shit out of the only alternative? The police department has spent all kinds of money making safe vehicle immobilization devices such as remotely operated spike strips. You are telling me that with the 100's of billion of dollars the army has the only thing they can do to protect themselves is to shoot at a car until it stops? More than half the population of the country probably doesn't even know how to read and their penatly for speeding is getting killed.

I would think that it is common knowlegde over there that sppeding towards a check point is not a good idea. We do not know all of the details - with regard to what was said when they detained the male driver - for all we know - him and his family were a new form of suicide bombers....

Jim, wake-up to reality. Have you noticed ALL THE SUICIDE CAR BOMBS going off in Iraq, lately? If you just take out the tires it doesn't stop the driver from DETONATING whatever it is they have to detonate. It's called SHOOT-TO-KILL, their only line of defense.

Someone should have changed the locks while everyone was gone.

small government limited and enumerated powers = good government
no government = anarchy and no Denny's open at 3am when you wish to trade the drunk for the full stomach.

Dear Lord, Hell has just frozen over. I agree with Greg. Our government is no longer of, for, and by the people, but more like hogs at the trough. I guess I have to suspend my fatwa against Greg now.

Jim, your comment is bizarre. Local police forces don't have to deal with cars loaded with a half ton of TNT driven by people with RPG's.
Oh, and if you think that those spikestrips are so great, watch an hour of police chase video, imagine that 50 yards down the road is your child and the car is full of explosives and tell me how effective they are.
Sheesh, I can't believe that people with this low an IQ can find the electric socket for their computer.

They won't go around saying this, but a Cessna do negligible damage, so you have to wonder if they're scared of nukes on board. Why else would they evacuate all those people.

Carlos, radar ID's are not that definitive.
