Please, please, please don't make the text white on a black (or dark) background; I find it to be almost unreadable, and blogs that use it not worth the eye-strain.

Just saw it! Looks good...except the light blue titles on black background have seared imprints into my visual cortex.

Call me a stodgy old curmudgeon, but anything on a black background may look "neato" and "cool" but it can also be very hard on the eyes. It's like looking at neon lights, and for older readers it can make focusing difficult.
Using a heavier-weight font might help with that.
