Blogger Apparently Fired for Supporting Second Amendment

Joe Huffman, who writes the blog The View From North Central Idaho, may have been fired because his employer, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a government contractor, didn't like his views on the Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms. According to Huffman, he was terminated without cause and without any opportunity to defend himself. Huffman's full account of the incident can be read here:

With a two inch high stack of printouts from Huffman's websites in front of him, Sutherland and McMillan explained they had a problem with some of his postings, claiming that Huffman had released business and customer sensitive information on his blog. Huffman, who has a high level security clearance, had made indistinct statements about work on his blog. There was no classified information on any of his websites.

When Huffman asked for specific details about what was wrong, they refused specifics. He repeatedly ask for a copy of the printouts, but was only allowed to see the top page.

Huffman was able to identify the web pages scrutinized using his weblog. If the results of his investigation are true, it seems that Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has left itself wide open for a wrongful termination suit.

2 Libs are true to their stalinist roots. And this post is yet more evidence that freedom today is threatened by the Left, not the Right. No, greg, I'm not saying they ARE stalinists, only that modern Liberalism can be traced in a straight line back to the Bolshevik revolution. What we have in modern Liberalism is basically a kind of soft stalinism, and it's "soft" because they don't have the force of government to back them up. Or they'll fire you if they can. Also, they'll rant and rage and try to shut people up using PC speech codes and accusations of "hate" and "racism" and "nazi", and blah blah blah. They're frustrated stalinists.

3 If PNNL had a problem with his blog for which they intended to fire Huffman, they needed to explicate what aspect of his employment was violated by his blogging and give evidence, and they needed to demonstrate how they warned him of the offense, which they didn't. Otherwise, they should have simply laid him off, exercising their right under an at-will contract, assuming that was their agreement. The way they did this leaves them open to a labor dispute that could cost, along with negative publicity that will have an impact on business and morale. But the joke's on them: Trying to silence Second Ammendment support among bloggers is just spitting into the wind.

4 I also support the Bill; of Rights. I am looking at 2 long guns in my office right now. I have used them to kill lots of animals which I like to eat. I will also use them to defend my family if need be. Progressives be damned! PETA is full of sh-t and so is Pelosi. Carlos - - Joe was a real as-hole but you should capitalize his name anyway. 5 I agree Carlos. The thought police are gonna PC America right into the ground. I think I read somewhere that we used to be able to hate our enemies and say derogatory things about them. Must have been nice to be able to say what you feel instead of having to do the PC tapdance.

6 Carlos:I'm not saying they ARE stalinists, only that modern Liberalism can be traced in a straight line back to the Bolshevik revolution. " Carlos, Good point. Read about the Jewish influence in the Bolshevik revolution. "Amongst themselves, the Jews are quite candid about their sympathy for and involvement in Bolshevism. On 4 April 1919 the Jewish Chronicle: "There is much in the fact of Bolshevism itself, in the fact that so many Jews are Bolshevists, in the fact that the ideals of Bolshevism at many points are consonant with the finest ideals of Judaism." (Perhaps this explains why the Red Army uses a Jewish star as its symbol?) Probably the best-known exposé of the Jewish role in the Bolshevik coup d'état was by Sir Winston Churchill, writing in the Illustrated Sunday Herald of 8 February 1920. Churchill wrote "With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of leading figures are Jews. Moreover the principal inspiration and the driving power comes from Jewish leaders." Communism was of course founded by Karl Marx whose grandfather was a rabbi by the name of Mordeccai. Marx was given his initial encouragement by a Communist-Zionist by the name of Moses Hess. As founder and editor of the Rheinische Zeitung, the main organ of leftist thought in Germany, he provided Karl Marx with his first important platform. Later, in Brussels, he collaborated with Marx on The German Ideology. It was Hess too who converted to Communism Friedrich Engels, the wealthy textiles magnate who later subsidised Marx from the profits of sweated labour in Britain and Germany. When the Bolsheviks overthrew the short-lived democratic government in Moscow and St. Petersburg in October 1917, it was a virtual Jewish coup d'état. The most prominent Jewish Commissar was Trotsky, real name Bronstein. He had been married by a rabbi in 1900, and whilst in exile in New York he had worked for Novy Mir, described in the Church Times (23 January 1925) as a "Yiddish newspaper." The various reporters and diplomats who were there at the time of the "Revolution" have given evidence as to its Jewish nature. The widow of the Guardian's correspondent Mrs. Ariadna Tyrkova-Williams wrote: "In the Soviet Republic all the committees and commissaries were filled with Jews." The most detailed description of Jewish influence in the Bolshevik 'revolution comes from Robert Wilton, the Russian correspondent of The Times. In 1920 he published a book in French, Les Derniers Jours des Romanofs, which gave the racial background of all the members of the Soviet government. (This does not appear in the later English translation, for some odd reason.) After the publication of this monumental work, Wilton was ostracised by the press, and he died in poverty in 1925. He reported that the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party was made up as follows: NAME NATIONALITY Bronstein (Trotsky) Jew Apfelbaum (Zinovief) Jew Lourie (Larine) Jew Ouritski Jew Volodarski Jew Rosenfeldt (Kamanef) Jew Smidovitch Jew Sverdlof (Yankel) Jew Nakhamkes (Steklof) Jew Ulyanov (Lenin) Russian Krylenko Russian Lounatcharski Russian " Read,'Robert Wilton, Russia's Agony (191 and The Last Days of the Romanovs (1920)." In 1920 he published a book in French, Les Derniers Jours des Romanofs, which gave the racial background of all the members of the Soviet government. 9 Mark Flacy:"Perhaps this indicates that you are unable to count to 6." Perhaps you should shut the fuck up. Perhaps you have 6 fingers and play a hell of a banjo.

14 I'm still astonished that Rusty allows this anti-semitic slime to comment here.

15 How can it be anti-Semitic when it is the truth?

16 Bluto, interesting post, but can I have my comment back? I was addressing the topic, and then all hell broke loose. What kind of cave dweller draws corollaries from star points, and still gets it wrong?!? Pearls before swine and all.
