Blogabond settles down

Many of you will recognize the name Dafydd ab Hugh from smart comments around the blogosphere. He's also been a co-guest-blogger with me at Patterico's Pontifications, and he has also guest-blogged at Captain's Quarters, and he gets mentioned at Powerline all the time. Oh, and he wrote a bunch of sci-fi novels, too.

Anyway, Daf Ab has fired up his own blog now--part of a bigger site called "Big Lizards" he's been working on for ages. It looks very promising--check out his post on why he doesn't write "Islamofascism" but insists on "militant Islamism". As he uses loaded and atmospheric words for a living, he knows what he's talking about.

(As an aside, I think the good thing tactically about "Islamofascism" is that A: it's somewhat accurate; after all, the Taliban and Baathism are fascist in character and B: it illustrates the odd cleavages in Western politics. Those romantic fools who jumped at the chance to fight Franco in the last century are swanning around with their thumb up their hindquarters in this one, and apologizing for a fanatically illiberal movement and the totalitarians who foster it. )

And now I'm the only person in America without my own blog.

1 I understand why he uses it, but "militant Islamism" is just too hard to say. I like all the made up names better. They kinda just roll right off the tongue. And they project one's personal feelings more clearly.

2 Oyster, neither term is correct. The jihaadis are not facists, they are fundamentalists. The correct term would be Islamic Fundamentalists, that is what they say they are, in their own words. Islamic Fundamentalists seek a return to the Golden Age of Islam, the expansion of the Caliphate and the implementation of a 14th century code of behavior. This is what the Wahhabists and Salafists themselves describe as their goals.

7 See-dub, I feel your pain. Believe me, I feel your pain.I know EXACTLY what you're going through. Right down to having your identity reduced to a phonetic spelling of a couple of letters. J.

8 The Zarqawis are a bunch of rotten punks who think God talks to them. They are scumbags, rancid to the core, who hide behind dead dogs and kill children. If you could have seen the wasp nest I took out the other day! Got my special slurry mix down to a science. Cops were sniffing around. Speaking of degenerate punks, where is Klanrooster? He's gnawing like a rodent on the gubbamint cheese and bitchin' about having to live next to his fellow Americans in the shelter. Impy is flirting with boars and Mr. Tanos, the brains of the gang is still keeping his secret on how to end this war once and for all. Stop fighting Jesus, Impy.

9 DSM. Not heard from the rooster in a bit. All is silent from him. Odd huh possibly he will return at some point. See Dub, Add me to the list of boggers who rely on the hospitality of others.
