At Last!

Now my son and I can spend some really important quality time doing a six episode Star Wars marathon. IÂ’ll never have to explain Episode V and VI again! And no kid, those are my toys at grandmaÂ’s not yours.

Timeout.com :Geeks the world over have reason to celebrate today – George Lucas has finally listened to their pleas and is releasing the original versions of the 'Star Wars' trilogy on DVD.

On September 11, two-disc sets of 'Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope', 'Episode V The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Episode VI Return of the Jedi' will hit the streets, featuring the digitally restored and re-mastered versions of the movies.

And as bonus material, they will also include the Holy Grail for true 'Star Wars' fans - the original theatrical versions of the films.

Yes Mom, it is the same poster from my bedroom wall.

1 And Darth Richusmaximus will get ever richer. All part of his plan for global domination by parting lesser minded folks from their money.

8 I have tapes of IV it;s a bit differend than the origial. Wife has been looking for V VI on tape for me at the resale shop. I think the DVD will have both the original and enhanced versions. I'll probably buy this if I don't find the tapes cheap.

9 I held out over buying the DVD box set for almost TWO YEARS in the hopes he would finally release the original versions of the saga on DVD, and now they are released after I finally caved in and shelled out $40 for the Hayden Christensen special edition and I'm supposed to be grateful!? And the sad thing is, I actually am.

Ace points out that he's also releasing a Stars Wars action figure of himself in a Stormtrooper outfit. Here's the story from Fox News

12 Got that one and many more, had them lamented years ago..I actually have one that's a promo release one, used commercially. Love the original and now I have hope he'll actually do the last 3, it is a 9 part triology. Harrison and company can now play the grandparents as it should be!

13 If they include the so called special editions and not just the originals, I'm STILL not going to buy them.
