A Socialist in the Senate?

Jim Jefford (I-VT) has announced his retirement from the world's most deliberative body. It looks like the only self-proclaimed socialist in the House, Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is going to run for his seat. Just what America needs, a guy in the Senate who thinks the Democratic party is too far to the right.

Scared Monkeys has more.

2 VT wants out of the USA... There are even some who want California to split from the USA. I doubt that would solve much for Californians with the Govenator ruling them, but imagine how strong the Republic of Californa's currency would be. The USA would be spanked of many a resource...technology, agriculture, etc.

4 My friend Greyrooster, America already has a form of soci alism that is far more dangerous than any Congressman from Vermont could send your way: A rampant, rapacious and voracious arms industry that devours corporate welfare tax dollars like an unholy juggernaut beast from hell. The Bushian Warfare Cult furiously steamshovels truckloads upon truckloads of money it robbed from the poor into it's gnashing, burning, belching creosote-smeared furnace mouth.

5 WILLARD "Yes sir, very much so sir. Obviously insane." LUCAS "Your mission is to proceed up the Pearl River in a Civilian bass boat. Pick up Colonel Sanderson's path at Picayune, follow it, learn what you can along the way. When you find the Colonel, infiltrate his communication network by whatever means available and disconnect the Colonel's cable modem." WILLARD "Disconnect.. the modem?" CORMAN "He's out there blogging without any decent restraint, totally beyond the pale of any acceptable intercultural conduct. And he is still in the forest, attacking the Muslim world." CIVILIAN "Disconnect.. his extreme prejudice." LUCAS "You understand Captain... , that this operation does not exist, nor will it ever exist."

6 >>>"VT wants out of the USA... There are even some who want California to split from the USA." Steven, how much more proof does anybody need that Leftists are traitors? It's settled as far as I'm concerned.

7 Let Vermont leave. Who needs them? Land of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. They're about as conservative yankee as Castro anyway. I'm from New England and I've been there. All the Kerry people can move there and elect him president and be happy.
