60 Minutes will interview lying communist Italian journalist, Giuliana Sgrena. Do you think they'll do a better job than
No warning? What kind of warning was she expecting at night speeding a long a road which has had more than its fair share of terrorist attacks?
How exactly would she know if there were arm or hand signals sitting from the back seat of the car, on a dark night, as they rounded a corner? Further, Sgrena says in one (of the many contradictory)
So the U.S. shone a light at the car before they started firing?
.
Let's hope CBS calls Sgrena what she is: a propagandist and political opportunist whose lies constitute a blood libel against the U.S.
The online article is actually pretty promising and responds to much of Sgrena's lies. Pray that the TV version does as well.

Unless maybe we're arming our soldiers with .22s? Well last time I qualified with the M-16A2 the bullets they gave me were .223. So yeah we do arm our soldiers with .22s. Also neither tanks nor Bradleys have .30mm mounted guns. The M1s and Bradleys have 7.62mm guns, while the M1 has a .50 caliber machine gun and the Bradley has a 25mm Canon.

Italian newspapers are complaining that the U.S. has blocked access to the car in which Calipari, Sgrena and the second agent were shot. The car is property of the Italian government as they have purchased the car from the Iraqi rental car company. Ballistic experts from Rome were denied the right to inspect the Toyota, and the demand from the Italian government for immediate access remains unanswered.
Bush, Rumsfeld and the US ambassador in Rome all promised a quick investigation of the shooting, with maximum cooperation from the US, in answer to Berlusconi's very public declaration that someone has to be held responsible for the shooting. The original promises all held to a one-month time frame for the investigation to be completed, around the beginning of April. To this day Italy does not know the names of the US soldiers who shot and killed one of the directors of SISMI, and have no idea when the ballistic experts can examine the car.
The US certainly knows that the public ministers of Rome have opened investigations on the homicide of Nicola Calipari and the attempted homicide of Giuliana Sgrena. Italians are left with the clear impression that the US is denying evidence to the ministers in order to stop their investigations.
Today Corriere della Sera broke the story that the soldiers who killed Calipari, and wounded the other passengers, would not face a court martial, thus denying once again the names of those responsible for the actual shooting.
Today Secretary of State Rice and Italian Foreign Secretary Fini, on an official visit in Washington, announced that the investigation is going forward, and that rather than hurriedly completing the work, it would be better to take more time to arrive at shared conclusion.
Thanks to the testimony of the surviving secret agent, and General Marioli, and the photos of the car shown on television, Italians know that the car was not speeding; the interior dome light was on; Calipari had notified General Marioli at the Baghdad airport of his return; General Marioli promptly alerted the US liaison officer, who already knew that Italian agents were in Baghdad and would be returning sometime that evening; there was no warning prior to the shooting; the shots came as they were completing a curve in the road; the shots came simultaneously with a blinding light directed at the driver by the patrol; the shooters were part of a mobile check point for Negroponte who had already passed by on the road an hour, or half-hour before; the shots were from the rear and right side; one shot was from the front and went through the front windshield near the driver; the motor block was not shot up; Calipari was killed by a single shot to the head; Sgrena was wounded in the lung, shoulder and collar bone; the driver was wounded; the driver saw tracer bullers pass in front of his chest, and above his legs; and all passenger seats in the car had bullet holes in the upholstery on the back rests.
I don't think that too many are willing to believe it was just an accident.

If the military would have meant to kill the commie they would have. The fact that she survived is proof it was not a preconceived plan and purposely done. The fault lies with her and her faked kidnapping. Just more silly lies from professional liars.

Sgrena reported valuable information about the massive human tragedy in Falluja. As people were gunned down in the streets and eaten by dogs, America was gushing at pictures of Marlboro Man soldier.
According to Greyrooster, his own son Scott was part of the Falluja human hunt. What did Scott say about what troops under his command did?
Posted by: Collin Baber at April 13, 2005 07:19 PM (FV4oJ)

No, Collin, Sgrena had been publishing false stories about Fallujah.
That is "valuable" only to the terrorist enemy, of which you are clearly a sympathiser.

Ummm.... It's .30 caliber, not .30mm. And .30 Caliber IS 7.62mm
And while it's true that the 5.56mm NATO round is .223 Caliber, and thus almost identical in *diameter* to a .22 round, the .22 LR round that Rusty meant is considerably different -- enough that at least *I* got the point.

Dear Robin,
As an apostate of the bizarre Bushian War Cult, I do my best to find out the reality of the situation. What some rabid armchair patriots cheer as "kicking ass" against "Satan" in Falluja, I find to be a horrible slaughter of human beings.

NBC has already leaked the preliminary report of the joint Italian-American investigation. They concluded that the Americans were telling the truth, with the only quibble being the speed of the car. The investigation found that Calipari didn't coordinate the mission with the US military. I posted about this

Some back home are to cowardly to. Some are to traitorous to. Some give aid and comfort to the enemy. I can only hope my son the Marine Capt. and his comrades will come home and finish the job. It is on their minds. There are computers in Iraq.

Dear Carlos,
Thank you for your questions. These are difficult times and emotions run high. We will never know the answer to so many questions in our short lives. I don't trust anything people remember about stressful situations with things happening fast, but I saw the dead Italian agent, the shotup car and the hysteric newswoman crawling out of the car and being ordered to get down on the sand in the security cam footage from the check point (Yup, they actually broadcasted it in national television news here).
And I didn't SEE warnings before they started shooting at the car. However, there was NO SOUND, since it is just regular security cam footage, so it is possible, that they might have told them to stop in English or Arabic with big speakers.

I think Sgrena, who upon being fired at, went into the "am I going to die ?" mode and has her facts confused.
But when the Sgrena car went through the first check point the Americans should have radioed ahead to inform their fellows that a car with a hostage was on the way heading for the airport.
Sloppy work on the part of the Americans.

>>>"Sloppy work on the part of the Americans."
There's a world of difference between sloppy vs intentionally targeting her for assassination. Sgrena and the knee-jerk anti-Americans are happy to believe the latter. Sickening.

1. win the elections (somehow)
2. find an enemy
3. declare a war againt him
4. now everybody who is against the war is against the country, doesn't support the troops, helps the enemy
5. so, anybody who is against you is a traitor and can (should) be arrested, jailed, processed, (killed?, why not?)
6. so, anybody who is against you is against the law and should not have the right to run against you in a free election (because that would be running for the enemy, against his country!) and he doesn't deserve to be free and alive in the first place.
7. you're now free to rule your country. live long and prosper.
ps: the US have not the exclusive of these rules. Joseph Goebbels theorized and applied them 70 years ago. Other countries, like China, are preparing to applying them (today against Japan, tomorrow who knows?), just skipping the rule #1.
