Insurgents in Iraq have freed 11 Pakistanis workers and will be repatriated to Kuwait within 24 hours, Foreign Office spokesman said on Monday.Pakistanis were among a group of hostages kidnapped last week and the captors had reportedly demanded ransom in return to release them.
Spokesman Naeem Khan told the weekly press briefing that the freed Pakistanis are now in Basra and will proceed to neighbouring Kuwait for their onward journey to Pakistan within 24 hours.
Reports suggest that the labourers were hired by a Kuwaiti construction company, Al Hamrah and were sent to Iraq a week ago but still have not reached to their destination.
