1 Think of the money it save not sending troops to this parade. Put it towards the war in Iraq!

6 Is it possible to march backwards in a parade? I rode with the Culver Black Horse Troop in Lyndon Johnson's inaugural parade in 1965, which was something of a thrill. As an underclassman, however, I was issued this stubborn nag aptly christened "Jughead," and the horse pretty much managed to ignore me completely. It taught me who was boss by nearly breaking my nose pulling its head down almost to its foot, pulling me down over the neck, and then rearing it's head skyward with great force and equine enthusiasm. WHAM, right in the kisser! Just about knocked me out. When we reached the reviewing stand where the President was stationed the animal managed to do a 180 and trotted backwards, in cavalry precision. I had no idea what was going on, and no real way to control the horse, so I just enjoyed the novelty and people applauded because they thought I had done it on purpose, as a kind of exhibition. It was easier for my family to pick me out on TV that way, at least. Yep, it's possible. Even on horesback. But it requires a certain skill level...

8 OK, so should Spain be put on the "sold out" list and all future liberations be cancelled now? France and Germany have already shown they feel they don't need the U.S., so with Spain now following suit (and I too didn't even know that France had troops), maybe we should tell them that not only do they get NO PIECE of the reconstruction in Iraq (or whoever our next target(s) is/are), but also that we will NOT be at their beck and call when (not if) they are invaded by the "islam-o-facists"
