How do Rove's comments prove Dems are hypocrites? More likely Rove is just being colorful-- but truthful. Dems are more concerned with terrorist's "civil liberties" than they are with the threat of terrorism. That's all Rove said.

One could make the argument Rove said that to show hypocrisy regarding the failure of Democrats to censure Durbin, but I believe it was just as Carlos said. He was simply making the same observation the vast majority of us have.
From an ideological standpoint, Democrats want to pursue the GWOT with indictments and badges and Republicans want to pursue the GWOT with guns and tanks. That's all Rove said.

I really think this is a case of the left reeling from the Durbin apology and looking for something to hit back with. Maybe the Times reporter was eager to give them some red meat. But they sure picked the wrong words. I will hate it when those remarks of Rove's are played ten thousand times in the next week!
