Abu Ghraib and Cartoon Jihad
Ladies and gentleman, I am proud to call Dr. Leopold Stotch a good friend:

there are many people in America and elsewhere in the West are making statements about how the media should self-censor and not publish the Danish cartoons that have sparked several days of Muslim rioting. ThatÂ’s fine, and their argument isnÂ’t completely without merit. However, it seems to me that these same people are precisely those who said that censoring the Abu Ghraib prison photos would be an unacceptable restriction on freedom of speech and a betrayal of the mediaÂ’s allegiance to the truth.

All these comparisons revealing hypocrisy are pretty much the same. If there's any sensitivity their not posting because they care about Muslims but because they fear Muslims. In bigger part tho, it goes against their liberal/Leftist ideology. Muslims, those making the noise, already have a disposition against America and our traditional values. The Left has allied itself with their disposition. Of course Christian and Jew bashing and freedom of the press will remain.

The battle lines have been drawn and are obvious to most of us.

What is missed here in all the confusion is that the cartoons were part and parcel to a valid news story. The story was about self-censorship being practiced by news organizations because of fear of radical Muslims. The newpaper commissioned the illustations to see if cartoonists would be willing to draw cartoons of Mohammed, risking the ire of Muslims. You have all seen the results. The story itself is coming true.
The reaction of the West should have been full support of the cartoonists. When Western governments and even Bush criticized the publication of what was and is a valid story, the reaction was seen as more weakness. Had the reaction been strong and forceful, this situation would have already calmed down. But now the radicals see that violence and protests work, so what do you think they will do now? Exactly, every time these people want something, no matter how unreasonable it is, they will resort to violence, because the West has rewarded violence.
By encouraging violence and protest, the West, including the US, has gone way down the appeasement road. You know what happened with Hitler. A world war with tens of millions killed was the result, and we seem hellbent on having another.
Oh, yeah, just as an aside, illustations of Mohammed have been around for hundreds of years, including the cartoons in question recently published in an Egyptian newspaper and other images sold in Iran. Muslims lie if they say that images of Mohammed are forbidden, or even uncommom for that matter. But, you see, the Koran gives Muslims the right to lie to the kufirs and infidels. Great religion you have there.

Yeah the left wing media outlets and politicians only have the balls to give free kicks to America, Conservatives, Christians and Jews.
