Zarqawi Planning Atack Bigger than 9/11

Expatica. The Zarkawi it talks about is Abu Mussab Zarqawi. Could this have something to do with the chemical weapons lab found in Fallujah?

Iraq-based al-Qaeda terrorist Abu Mussab al- Zarkawi is planning a terror strike of greater magnitude than the 11 September 2001 attacks in New York and Washington, according to a German newspaper report published on Monday.

The daily Tagesspiegel in Berlin quotes a follower of al-Zarkawi as saying the Jordanian radical, who is believed to be behind many of the kidnappings and attacks in Iraq, had told him there would be "a really big event" soon.

According to the follower, named as Fathala F., al-Zarkawi had told him the attack would be bigger than the 11 September attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Tagesspiegel said it interviewed Fathala F., who is being held by US forces in Iraq, during a six-hour meeting last Thursday.

Fathala F., a Kurdish member of the Iraqi terror group Ansar al- Sunna, said he had met al-Zarkawi in Falluja before US forces moved into the rebel stronghold last month.

The report said Fathala F. has been offered a special witness deal by US authorities in return for information. It said security authorities believe his account of the meeting with al- Zarkawi to be genuine.

2 'according to a German newspaper report published on Monday.' These germans are worthwhile when they say things we want to hear.

3 Bring it on Zarqawi.......nothing can shock the West anymore, were you and your ilk are concerned. In fact Zarqawi, your getting boring. Zarqawi, yes you Zarqawi, you are a dead man walking. Islamic extermism has tried to hijack the Islamic religion, so where are the moderate Muslims comdeming Zarqawi's cowardly acts? It is about time moderate Muslims took control of parasite's like Zarqawi........So yes Zarqawi, you are very boring now, and you will pale into insignificance when you realize, that no matter what you do, its not going to make any difference, however, to realize that, you must have a degree of intellectual capacity, which I'm afraid you do not possess. So fuck off, please. Thankyou Rusty, great site sir..

5 Just returning from NYC, my hometown, to visit family and friends, I must say when the plane was nearing landing by LaGuardia Airport and the Manhattan skyline was visible, you could hear a pin drop as everyone glanced out the window. I couldn't even tell where the Twin Towers were supposed to be, and I've lived in NYC all my life! I must say it was a very weird feeling, and my heart was very heavy. I was also given a memorial picture of my friend's nephew, who was a firefighter, and killed in the line of duty on 9/11. These cards were passed out at his funeral, the following April, when they found some victims months later, buried underneath the rubble, in the train station. I don't care what Zarqawi, Osama, whoever, plan for NYC or any other big city...bring it on! Remember that's what terrorists do, they "terrorize". I cannot fathom another big attack like that happening, as we are so much more aware now, security hasn't slackened, if it does happen, it will be some other way, but I hope I'm wrong. Great to be back home, though. I'm beat.

6 Amen Laura: I only lived in New York City for a year. I lived on Governor's Island. Which is in the river out from where you catch the Staten Island Ferry. My bedroom window faced the World Trade Center. When I visit (my girls like to shop there before school starts each year) I cannot get used to the new skyline. It's empty, eerie, and I get pissed off all over again.

7 Yeah and the stupid thing is that some people actually go to Ground Zero, and stand in front of it, smiling, taking pictures, like it was a damned tourist attraction! This is sacred ground, hallowed ground, where 3,000 innocent lives were lost...literally, never to be found, disappeared into thin air! You can tell that my friend and her husband have not gotten over their nephew's untimely and unnecessary death. The kid was 29 at the time, and was supposed to get married two weeks after 9/11. What a fucking shame. Worst part of that, is that the old man was a firefighter too, and he had also answered the call of duty but he didn't know that his son's outfit would be called down to help out either. He thought his son wasn't there! While he was at the towers, someone radioed in to him that his son's group had indeed went there and that they had gone into the buildings. Of course, he was listed as "missing" and they held out hope, thinking he may have been taken to a hospital and was unconscious or something. Well, we all know what eventually happened. I will never forget, and I will never, ever, get over it. I still cannot believe it happened. But it did, and I, too, get enraged all over again...and again...and again. :-((((

9 Mr K: I've teased Rusty about that before but it happens when you type too fast; also he doesn't have spell check on his computer. Neither do I. Good post, Karl - you want to get arrested with Rusty? :-) But what you say is true. Another subject we've discussed in the past is that the people of Iraq have to step up to the plate for all this to end. And you're all right when i say "You can never forget." Cindy
