The Left Is Just Dying to Believe the Terrorists

The Dread Pundit Bluto e-mails with some information he received from a friend of his serving at the Camp Bucca prison, Iraq. Follow the post carefully.

a) Terrorists post propaganda messages to Islamist forums.
b) Terrorist sympathizers translate the messages into English.
c) Translations are posted by 'alternative media' as fact.
d) Leftists revel in the propaganda and spread them as fact.
e) Gullible Europeans and college students believe the worst about America and our efforts in Iraq.

1 Sometimes, I get the urge to slap a hippy but I manage to get control of myself and not go through with it. Libs have no such control. Filthy, degenerate, debauched a-moral beasties that they are, they are unable to master their base impulses.

2 Dude, you sound just like Eric Cartman. Awesome!

3 Very true. Just look at the sources they cite to support their "facts." Let's face it, most people believe what they WANT to believe, and the Left WANTS to believe the worst about America. It's like cocaine, they crave it, and they accept it on faith, no matter how ludicrous the source. Because it is a faith and a religion. In fact to a Leftist, the more ludicrous the source, the more credibility it has. Literaly. It's an upside down world. A patriot, even a cynical and skeptical patriot, would at the very least WANT to see the positive. But these guys don't. They HATE America. They actively seek out the worst.

4 Carlos I sometimes wonder if American lefties blame the problems in the world on America in order to put it in the realm of something they can affect. That is, if the problem is simply our being 'bad' or 'evil' than it allows them to be able to 'act' to effect change. The problem of course, is that America is not to blame for all of the worldÂ’s problems. The problem is the tyranny of men who have power and the willingness to use it for their own selfish interest. Just a thought.

5 Hehe, possibly one of the gullible Europeans I guess... Nah, Europeans just don't give a damn, so they pick the side that is living closer to them, so for most of them Middle East and to the Brits you. Also, political activities are part of social studies around here, so loudly expressing any opinion in large groups counts as showing ability to influence society. I don't think many people actually care unless they have close relatives living in U.S. or on holiday near the war zones.

6 We need more reporters over there to find out what is really going on.

7 Collin, a billion gazillion innocent Iraqis have been killed. What else do you need to know?

8 Dear Carlos, Perhaps more General Taguba-types to root out systemic abuse. Dear Mr. Defense, I agree with you. There are some who do blame the Unites States for everything that goes wrong in the world. As for me, we in the United States must take the moral high road in our foreign affairs to regain our former reputation.

10 The former reputation of being a dandy land that doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the world, or the former reputation of being the place that takes all other countries poor, weak and hated and makes them rich? I seriously doubt you want to go back to any reputations post-WW2.
