Taliban Patches for Hindus Were for Saftey

Were, “for their own good,”, Said Yale Taliban, Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi.

Via Clint W. Taylor at Townhall :
he told UPI's Arnaud De Borchgrave how wonderful it was that the Taliban assigned yellow identity badges to their religious minorities (in this case Hindus). It was, said Hashemi, for their own good:

Yale Taliban, Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi --On distinctive patches to be worn by non-Muslims: "Everything we decide is immediately castigated as worthy of history's bloodthirsty dictators. This decision was designed to protect Hindus who kept complaining to us that they were being harassed by the religious police for not going to the mosque at prayer time."

Harrassed by the religious Police? Do they have those in Iran too? I'd rather be harrassed by the Iranian's. They might hang me from a crain, but they would probably just jail me, beat me, fine me, and release me. The Taliban would probably just start sawing right away.

1 Oh, don't worry, Yale Taliban. You don't need to explain yourself to the Libs. The fact that you aren't a white conservative christian covers a multitude of sins with them.

2 Judging from the the threat of execution of the christian convert forced into exile, I would say that not much has really changed regarding the power of the religous police in Afghanistan. Nation building is hard work.

3 John, do you really expect a nation of medieval savages to suddenly turn into neo-classical Westerners just because they voted in a couple of elections? Of course you do, that was silly of me to think that you might use a little common sense in the thought process.

4 >>>Nation building is hard work. Yes it is. I wish the Leftards would wake up to that fact.

5 Iran was well on the road to modernization before the Ayatollah came to power. The projections for Iranian oil output were huge, instead production has fallen to levels not seen since the early 1970's. They had a legitimate nuclear program too and were living up to the NPO. They weren't a "nation of medieval savages" at all and were well on their way to becoming a powerful force in the region. What Carter needed to do was to convince the Shah to begin introducing democratic institutions and gradually handing power over to them. What he did instead was cut and run. It wasn't long after Iran fell that Russia invaded Afghanistan. We are still dealing with these events to this day. Jimmy Carter created those "medieval savages".

6 Nation baby-sitting maybe fits the description more accurately .

7 Crosspatch, I was referring to Afghanistan; I know Iran was once a modern country until Western leftards teamed up with their islamofascist terrorist brothers and destroyed it. Liberals and muslims have one thing in common if nothing else; both seek to destroy civilization. Well, two things in common; both groups need to be exterminated.

8 It wasn't all that long ago that women were wearing miniskirts in Kabul either.

9 Abdul thinks it's none of cow-humping yankees problems what others due within their own borders. Abdul thinks it is a distraction from more important things like uranium. Yes, americans are stupidier than bird droppings but we ain't stupid enough to go fight a war over a dress code. If 14year old girls can dress like whores in public school in iran like they can in the u.s. i don't think it would make one frigging little difference. Will iranian expats please stop trying to get us to fight a war for them, if you want your country to change get some balls and go fight your own war. Abdul has spoken.

10 What a mess!! Our own people, and the European-influenced, Socialist, controled media pigs cannot even agree that a savage leadership in Iran, which is emulating Hitler and makes excuses for the Hollacost, says openly that it is going to "wipe isreal off the map", nuke us, and worst of all bashes poor "Tom and Jerry" as a brainwashing Jewish "plot", because Jerry is so cunning and just will not allow himself to just be eaten by a "Muslim Cat".. (you won't get this part unless you caught the "Islamic professor" a few weeks ago, giving the "lecture" to a bunch of Iranian Muslim morrons in an "Islamic University" about this. Students actually sat there like idiots and took notes about how Tom is really a Muslim and Jerry is a Jew, and subliminally I guess it is some Jewish plot to show muslims as victims and Jerry the mouse as a crafty, cunning and evil Jewish mouse... If you watch his lecture, you will see how stupid these muslims really are, he convieniently ignores the fact that Tom is trying to kill and EAT Jerry and Jerry always seems to get away... that damn Jew... see he got away from the Muslim fangs and claws again... that little cunning Jew-mouse... The truth is he is right on target. It is a great comparrison. The Jewish people have survived many genocides, took their only country back from the Arabs, have a mostly free and functioning Democracy in which many Arabs, Muslim and not, choose to live in. They do not kick out the Arabs the way the Arabs have banned or killed Jews and Christians! The Muslims who live in Isreal do not want to go to Palestinian territory. The Muslims are safe going into Jewish neighborhoods, but if a Jew takes a wrong turn and ends up in a Muslim "hood", they will hang him.) Tom and Jerry Exactly Mr. Professor!! As long as our country is un-united, and fighting amongst ourselves over much less important issues than our own survival (which is at stake in this Islamic "Holy-War" against us)we do not stand a chance. Our enemies know this, and saw how united we were right after 9-11, and quickly destroyed it by constantly attacking everything and everyone through the mainstream press using treasonous American traitors like John Kerry, the murderer Ted Kennedy, . Now we are the opposite. How does it feel? Remember "United we Stand" on the bumper of every car right after 9-11 (you know... that long forgotten "political thing" that happened in 2001??), and the feeling of being behind your country and your neighbor? Todd Beamer and the others who fought back became Heroes, instead of the usual "Snoop Dog" type morrons. It has all gone away now and actually swung further the other way than before 9-11. We hate each other again, we despise each other. Every American now is completely unpatriotic and terrorists can stand in front of the white house with signs that blow my mind, but nobody even cares to kick their ass. This is just as Usamma wants it, just like the European Union, France, Russia and China love it. We are defenseless because we all hate each other. We have no chance of survival if we can be threatened with a nuclear attack by Iran and others, and anyone here that wants or tries to convince our government and the public to stop them before they actually do it is attacked by "The Left" as a "War-Monger". A political war in our own country is raging and nothing is sacred anymore. Certain "Peace and Love" folks are willing to use our own survival, (their own too, even if they just want to ignore it) when threatened with bloodshed and nukes by another country, as a way to "get" the President, making it impossible for him to deffend us, and it also cause a hardship for the current administration in general. The "big-media" plays right along. They have done so much damage to our country that I am not even sure it can be fixed before we actually get nuked. If you think I am overly stating the threat, look up what the planned "American Hiroshima" means to Al-Queda and Iran. They do not need to actually get a nuke here at all, just NEAR our shoreline, a couple hundred miles off our coast with a cargo ship. 1 ship! This ship can launch a missile that will cause a nuclear explosion really high-up in our sky. The result will be putting us back in the stone-age. The aim is to hit us with a nuclear pulse. It instantly kills everything electronic or electric. Every car, boat, truck, electricity, defense systems, satalite communications, phones, cell phones, etc.. gone in a flash. Think about the result of that! Kaos, civil unrest, unprecidented disease and death on a massive scale. It would be like New Orlans in Katrina, but the whole or most of the country instead, and worse. WAY worse. Think about it.

11 jamie: Any solutions?

Posted by: greyrooster at May 25, 2006 08:31 PM (pzM6K)

12 jamie, take a chill pill. the apocalypse isn't scheduled until NEXT week! a single islamic bomb won't destroy civilization. it would likely be roughly the same yield as hiroshima or nagasaki (about 20 kilotons), and cause about as much damage (plenty). by cold war standards, it would be an almost useless symbolic gesture. (the soviets, for example, built a 500-MEGAton prototype bomb, and the SALT talks negotiated a reduction to 10,000 warheads for EACH side.) a nuclear attack on the west would be rapidly followed by the destruction of iran's nuclear facilities, along with significant chunks of the surrounding countryside. all this begs the question of WHY iran would want to: 1) announce their bomb and other missile technologies before they were anywhere near deployment, 2) throw out iaea inspectors, 3) deliberately provoke israel with whom they have no historical quarrels, and 4) send an ultimatum to george "dubya"? it's as if the 98-pound weakling actually WANTS to get stomped..
