The United States declared on Thursday genocide has occurred in Sudan's Darfur region and blamed the Khartoum government and Arab militias for the crisis that has driven more than a million people from their homes."We concluded that genocide has been committed in Darfur and that the government of Sudan and the Janjaweed bear responsibility and genocide may still be occurring," Secretary of State Colin Powell said in testimony prepared for delivery to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Ayup, and the UN time has expired and they are still not doing anything. I have to agree with comments on Wizbang, that we just bulldoze the UN building into the Hudson River, that's how useless they are and the Government of Sudan still won't let troops in there. Well too damn bad, someone has to go in and go in now.

Their govt as of today is still fighting it and saying genocide is not occurring and will not allow anyone into their country to stop this or to deliver medical supplies and food. They will continue to die by the thousands a day because the UN is not doing a thing about it and every day, every report sickens me even more. The hell with politics and the hell with the UN, somebody has to do something NOW rather than LATER. It's already too late.
